“Envy, rage, sloth, greed, gluttony, lust.” Mo Yi sat at the round rosewood table, calmly looking at the “selves” in front of him, bound tightly and seated in a row.
“Kill… kill!”
“Wealth! Money! Mine… all mine!”
“Ah… why does this world exist? I don’t want to move…”
“Hungry, I want to eat, all the delicacies in the world are mine!”
“Why are you standing here? Why are you stronger than me? Why do these things belong to you and not me?”
“They’re all mine! Women! Beautiful women! I’ll definitely take your woman! Hehehe…”
…………
Six completely different ‘Mo Yi’s were bound together with ropes in a row on the deck. Some were ferocious, some were lazy, and some even bared their teeth at Mo Yi, blatantly revealing their desires. The scene was bizarre and unsettling.
Mo Yi held a cup of red tea found in the kitchen. He gently blew on the rising steam before taking a sip.
He had figured out the situation. These people who shared his face but possessed evil hearts were his own “sins”. Perhaps the term “seven deadly sins” was most appropriate. If he used a more advanced term to describe these people, it would be three characters, one word – 【Seven Deadly Sins】.
These evil deeds were initially written by the Greek theological monk, Pontius, to describe seven evils that harmed personal spirituality: pride, envy, rage, sloth, greed, gluttony, and lust. Pontius observed that people at that time were becoming increasingly self-centered, especially with pride.
Up to now, six of the seven deadly sins had been tied up by Mo Yi. Only “pride” remained.
In this period of time, the ship had experienced six collisions. Each collision brought a ‘sin’. Now, only one collision remained before all the seven deadly sins were gathered.
Mo Yi sipped his red tea and looked at the six ‘sins’ on the deck. He felt a strange sensation, looking at his own evil exposed in this way. Rather than fear, Mo Yi felt more disgust and rejection.
He hated the thought of turning into those people, but he couldn’t stop it. Because the seven deadly sins were the embodiment of his own desires. When he saw delicious food, he would turn into a glutton. When he saw a beautiful woman, he would transform into lust. These were human nature, impossible to eradicate, and impossible to stop. The only thing he could do was use his strong will to control them.
The steaming cup of red tea was slowly drained. By the time Mo Yi could see the bottom of the cup, the seventh collision had not arrived. Only calm winds and an empty sky remained.
Mo Yi looked up at the sky. The sun was gradually setting, the sky transitioning from bright to dim. He didn’t know what would happen after dark, but subconsciously, he knew the outcome wouldn’t be pleasant.
Mo Yi set down the teacup and picked up the blood-stained axe on the table. This axe, originally clean, had turned a crimson red. The stench of blood permeated the air.
“Seven Deadly Sins, the root of human depravity. Is the second trial to make me kill you?” Mo Yi thought silently, looking at the ‘sins’ on the ground.
Time was running out. The sun was nearing the horizon, darkness silently approaching.
“Ding – Ding –” A pleasant bell sound rang. Mo Yi froze. He immediately grabbed the axe and the flour bag and ran to the ship's railing.
Mo Yi leaned out. He saw a wooden boat on the distant sea. A figure in a black robe sat on the boat, gently shaking a bell, as if signaling his arrival to Mo Yi. The wooden boat slowly drifted towards the large ship, a feeling of deathly silence permeated the entire sea.
“Where’s the monster fish…?” Mo Yi’s heart sank. This situation was entirely different. There was no monster fish, no ugly-faced “sin”. Only the wooden boat swaying on the sea, every detail, every aspect, filled with eerie and heavy vibes.
The wooden boat slowly approached the large ship. It maintained a constant speed, sailing alongside the large ship. The person on the boat was completely covered by the black robe. He silently rowed, as if waiting for something.
A ladder was lowered from the ship’s railing, falling alongside the ship’s side to the wooden boat. Mo Yi threw the ladder down, welcoming the black-robed person’s arrival.
Mo Yi stood not far from the railing. He wore a flour bag full of blood on his head, holding the broken, blood-stained axe in his right hand. Though he didn’t know what was about to happen, he still prepared the most solemn “welcome.”
Gradually, a head emerged from the deck. Without any effort, he climbed onto the deck. He then slowly stood up. The black robe covered his face in darkness.
Mo Yi silently observed the man shrouded in the black robe. Judging by his height and movements, this guy was definitely not one of Mo Yi’s seven deadly sins.
“Who are you?” Mo Yi asked in a deliberately hoarse voice.
The black-robed man patted his robe, then looked at Mo Yi. His lips curled into a wide smile, “Hello Mo Yi, I’m here to help you.”
The black-robed man pulled off the robe covering his body! His entire figure was fully exposed to Mo Yi’s eyes under the setting sun!
He was a handsome man, wearing white clothes and white pants. He had a relaxed, lazy smile on his face. A pair of pupils shone with intelligence.
Mo Yi looked at the man’s face and froze. Obviously, this man was not his “sin”. It could be said that this man had nothing in common with him. Mo Yi was even half a head taller than him. But strangely… Mo Yi felt an inexplicable familiarity towards this man! As if he had shared dinner with him at some point in time, or played happily together.
Memories were like demagnetized disks, with the pointer continuously loading but only receiving a blurry image.
For a moment, Mo Yi’s head ached violently.
When, where, had he seen him? He couldn’t remember… but it was so familiar.
“Don’t worry about it if you can’t remember. Let’s deal with the urgent matter at hand,” the man said with a smile. “It seems you’ve successfully captured the ‘six sins’.”
Mo Yi exhaled a breath of浊气, forcing himself to calm down. He pulled off the blood-stained flour bag and looked directly at the man. “Yes, do you have something to tell me?”
The man nodded slightly. He turned his head towards the end of the deck, where there was a large rosewood round table and the ‘Mo Yi’s bound in a row. “Let’s talk over there, I’m a bit thirsty.”
Mo Yi slightly turned his body and nodded. He made an inviting gesture and walked towards the round table side-by-side with the man.
The man and Mo Yi sat opposite each other. There were matcha cakes and steaming red tea on the table. The six “sins” saw the man and Mo Yi’s arrival and remained silent. They all lowered their heads, staring at the deck, deathly quiet.
“Please.” Mo Yi glanced at the strange reaction of the “six sins” and said calmly. He casually threw the blood-stained axe onto the table, then picked up a cup of red tea and brought it to his lips.
The man nodded and picked up the teacup, drinking it in one gulp. After a while, he set down the cup and looked directly at Mo Yi. “The only way to escape from here is to kill all seven deadly sins.”
Mo Yi’s tea-drinking movement paused, then he looked at the man and asked, “What do you mean?”
The man smiled and said, “Literally, kill them. They are human sin, the root of depravity. If you can completely eliminate them, you will be perfect! A man without vices!”
“No one is perfect.” Mo Yi toyed with the teacup and chuckled. “Besides, I only have six deadly sins here. One is still missing.”
The man slightly raised his head and said, “Killing them will naturally lead you to ‘pride’.”
“I’m curious.” Mo Yi suddenly laughed. He looked at the man and asked, “What are you then?”
The man also laughed. He put down the teacup and said, “Does it matter? This is just an illusion. You just need to break through the illusion and escape.”
Mo Yi pondered for a moment and asked, “Illusion?”
The man nodded, “Yes, this is your inner world. In the outside world, you have fallen into an illusion. If you don’t break the illusion in time, you could be trapped here forever… do you see that sunset?”
Mo Yi turned his head and looked at the round sun about to set on the horizon. The fiery red color dyed the ocean red, at first glance, it looked like the entire sea was on fire.
“When the sun disappears, your time is up. If you haven’t escaped from here, eternal darkness awaits,” the man said. “What are you waiting for? Do it. Kill the six deadly sins. I will naturally tell you where the remaining pride is.”
There was a long silence. The distant sun slowly slipped down, the afterglow falling on Mo Yi’s lips, slowly transforming into a strange smile.
Mo Yi clasped his hands and placed them under his chin. He looked at the man with amusement and smiled, “You… seem to know a lot about psychology?”
