Chapter 54
The Cage of Seven Deadly Sins

The man’s smile gradually disappeared. He looked at Mo Yi with a blank expression and said, “I don’t understand what you’re saying.”

Mo Yi tilted his head and looked at the Six Deadly Sins on the deck, which had fallen silent. He said, “From the moment we met, you’ve tried to leave an impression of mystery. Furthermore, your tone of voice, facial expressions, and body language all subtly try to influence me, making me very wary.”

The man looked at Mo Yi and softly said, “Time… is running out.”

“It’ll be about half an hour before everything ends. That’s enough time to explain,” Mo Yi said in a deep voice, his hands pressed on the rosewood round table as he leaned forward. “Who are you? I must know you, but I’ve forgotten for some strange reason.”

The man shook his head and said, “It seems you don’t understand the influence of the Seven Deadly Sins on people... Forget it. Come with me. Only by giving you a firsthand experience will you be able to make up your mind.”

After finishing, the man stood up and walked straight towards the captain’s cabin nearby. Mo Yi, sitting in his original spot, raised an eyebrow and also stood up to follow.

Entering the captain’s cabin, Mo Yi saw the man standing in the corner. There, a trapdoor had been opened in the floor, leading to a wooden staircase down to the ship's hull. Torches were inserted into the walls on both sides of the passage, illuminating the dark path.

“What’s down there?” Mo Yi asked. The location of the trapdoor was extremely hidden, yet the man knew it like it was his own home.

The man chuckled and said, “Your prison.”

Mo Yi was startled. The man stepped down the stairs, and Mo Yi immediately followed.

The staircase wasn’t long, and soon, Mo Yi and the man reached their destination… a wide, dark, and damp corridor.

This wasn’t just a simple corridor. On both sides of the walls, numerous cages had been built, extending to the end of the corridor! The floor of the corridor was covered in puddles, and the entire place was dark, only the light from the torches at the top of the stairs faintly illuminating the area. This place was clearly a secret prison!

“What’s in here?” Mo Yi asked. He walked forward and looked into a cage, but he saw nothing. Inside the cage was an empty space with no windows or beds, just bare, dilapidated stone walls.

“This is the cage of Lust,” the man said.

“But I didn’t see anything,” Mo Yi said, straining his eyes, but he still saw nothing. The cage behind the iron bars was empty.

“Get closer,” the man said to Mo Yi calmly.

Mo Yi glanced at the man, then moved closer to the cold cage. He strained his eyes, trying to see if there was anything strange in this empty cage.

Suddenly, the man pushed Mo Yi.

Mo Yi stumbled forward and grabbed the iron bars. He felt weightless and his vision went dark.

This was the heart of the tree. Dry wood surrounded him on all sides.

“Farewell, brother Mo Yi,” the pharmacist said, bowing to Mo Yi. He then turned and left through the hidden exit, accompanied by the sound of his teasing laughter.

“With such a beautiful scenery, brother, you can do naughty things to your little sister!”

Mo Yi was dazed. He patted his head, turned, and looked at Mo Luo Xue lying unconscious in the dry grass.

“…” Oddly, Mo Yi didn’t argue with the pharmacist. He looked at Mo Luo Xue’s beautiful profile and froze. A strange urge filled his mind.

And so, he—

Suddenly, Mo Luo Xue opened her eyes. She looked at Mo Yi, her eyes filled with sorrow and despair. Her face, tearful from sadness, expressed her disappointment in the Mo Yi who occupied this delicate body.

Mo Yi recoiled in shock. Fear filled his entire mind. In the next instant, the scene changed.

The damp corridor, the puddles on the floor, the torches flickering, casting reflections on the puddles on the ground.

This was still the cage corridor. The man beside him was looking at him with an inexplicable smile on his face.

Mo Yi released his grip on the iron bars. He looked at the surroundings, his expression complex. “That just now… was…”

The man said, leaning in, “This is the cage of Lust. I just let you glimpse into it. If you had been consumed by lust at that moment, what would have happened.”

Mo Yi’s face didn’t change, but his heart was stirred by a tempestuous storm… If he had been blinded by lust at that moment, would things have really turned out like the vision he had just seen? Would he have succumbed to Lust and pushed Mo Luo Xue? Everything would have started going off the rails after that.

“This is the terrifying thing about the Seven Deadly Sins. I told you, he is humanity’s vice. He must be expelled,” the man softly said.

“…” Mo Yi remained silent. He walked to another cage, then got closer and grabbed the iron bars.

The scene changed.

Jewels! Swords! Silk! Paintings! Everything you could imagine was here. The firelight on the walls reflected off the expensive treasures, causing them to shine brightly. The large diamonds refracted light onto the gold tableware, creating a shimmering array of jewels. The sharpness of the swords and knives seemed to split the light, and the gemstones and diamonds embedded in the handles of the swords dazzled.

Mo Luo Xue turned and stared at Mo Yi, saying, “If you nod, then all of these things are yours!”

Mo Yi’s eyes shone green. If this wealth were converted into currency, it would be enough for him to live a life of luxury for the rest of his days! What’s the point of some silly divine destiny when there’s wealth?!

“I’ll take it! I’ll take it!” Mo Yi murmured. He walked closer to the pile of treasures and then threw himself onto it. His face had an unhealthy look, and a crazed smile filled his entire face.

“What ugliness,” Mo Luo Xue sneered. “These treasures are yours, but you’ll never get that divine destiny again.”

Mo Yi quickly nodded in agreement. He was intoxicated with the treasures and ignored everything else.

“Take your treasures and leave,” Mo Luo Xue said coldly, watching Mo Yi’s ugly appearance. “You are but a mortal.”

Mo Yi was startled by her words. Suddenly, the scene shattered and changed.

The damp prison, the man standing behind Mo Yi, who was gripping the iron bars. He looked at the empty cage and said softly, “This is the cage of Greed.”

Mo Yi remained silent. He found the next cage and got closer again.

The scene changed…

This time, Mo Yi was back in the time when he had just transmigrated. He had heard about the deeds of the three scoundrels who were the main characters, and then he chose to let them be, simply because it was too much trouble. He wanted to spend more time indulging in brothels and taverns, doing whatever he pleased...

Time passed and changed. Three people with unparalleled power trampled over the famous Mo family, slaughtering everyone in the entire Mo family. Mo Luo Xue was also taken away against her will and made a concubine, while his father, Mo Tian Jiao, died in a rage while fighting.

Mo Yi cried out in despair under the cold swords of those three...

The sword carrying death descended, and the scene shattered. Mo Yi was once again back in the cold and damp prison.

“This is Sloth,” the man said calmly. “Now you finally understand the terror of the Seven Deadly Sins, right?”

Mo Yi, expressionless, walked towards the next cage and grabbed the iron bars.

“You’re really persistent, aren’t you…” the man chuckled softly.

The scene changed again.
