Chapter 48
A Traitor Emerges

“Human organ trafficking?!”

Park Jeong-won abruptly shot up from his chair, his eyes wide open, instantly alert.

He grabbed the document and read it word for word, the details laid out clearly, chillingly horrific.

Park Jeong-won furrowed his brows, a question forming in his mind: "Just how true is this?"

His gaze fell upon the name "Seoul Paradise Hospital." The hospital’s background and influence were undeniable, its parent company a giant in the industry.

If they couldn't verify the authenticity of this incident, taking rash action could trigger a major storm.

"Minister, you can rest assured. This is absolutely true!" Choi Eun-ho nodded solemnly, his voice firm.

Park Jeong-won clutched the document, lost in thought.

In their world, gangsters running underground casinos, fighting over turf, they could turn a blind eye to all that.

After all, gangsters paid protection fees. They took their money, they provided protection.

Prosecutors who didn't receive protection fees could only handle petty cases and earn minor accolades.

It was their survival rule, dark but a reality.

When it came to sensitive issues like murder and drugs, which had a profound impact on society, they would never tolerate evil.

If the Cheonan Association was truly involved in the heinous act of organ trafficking, uprooting them was an urgent matter, any shielding would be in vain.

As for the suspected buyer, Seoul Paradise Hospital…

Park Jeong-won tightened his grip on the folder, his gaze sharpened, his voice low and resolute:

"Go inform the Gangnam Police Department in the name of the Criminal Division Six, asking them to secretly mobilize some police force on standby. Keep the operation as covert as possible.

Once we confirm the location of the doctor connected to the Cheonan Association, we’ll immediately take action to apprehend him."

He slammed the folder on the table, his expression serious as he added: "I need to report this to the Deputy Minister. We need his explicit instructions."

"Yes, Minister."

Choi Eun-ho quickly lowered his head in response, the flicker of joy in his eyes carefully hidden.

Following closely behind Park Jeong-won, Choi Eun-ho hurried back to his office.

He knew there was another crucial scene to play out, therefore he had to find a place that was both concealed and convenient.

After a brief greeting with Park Guk-chang, Choi Eun-ho went to retrieve the warrant, simultaneously instructing him not to let anyone enter the office.

Choi Eun-ho carefully locked the door, then pulled out his phone from his pocket.

He dialed Chae Jae-jin's number.

A-ssi-ba! Choi Eun-ho, what are you up to again!?!?

Chae Jae-jin's voice on the other end was harsh, clearly furious.

A-ssi-ba!

You're a goddamn a-ssi-ba, Chae Jae-jin!

Is there a traitor in your midst?

This is so damn shady!

Choi Eun-ho didn't give him a chance to breathe, launching into a furious tirade.

What? Traitor?

Chae Jae-jin was utterly confused. What kind of new extortion tactic was this? Was Choi Eun-ho truly desperate for money, inventing a reason to demand it?

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, as if Choi Eun-ho was bullying a simpleton.

Just as he was about to retort, Choi Eun-ho on the other end was already unleashing a new wave of accusations.

“The business I mentioned earlier, as soon as I made a move, the minister received a tip-off. Now they've begun the filing process!”

Choi Eun-ho slammed his hand on the table, shaking the air as if it had solidified. Gritting his teeth, his face flushed with rage: “If it wasn't an inside man on your side, someone who didn't want to cooperate and secretly reported it, would I be the one reporting myself?!"

“Chae Jae-jin, if your people are looking for death, don't drag me down with you!

Give me an explanation, or there will be no peace between us!"

After saying that, Choi Eun-ho didn't give Chae Jae-jin a chance to defend himself and hung up the phone directly.

He took a few deep breaths and drank some water, attempting to calm himself down.

On the other end of the line, Chae Jae-jin listened to the busy tone, frozen in place.

"Inside man?

Traitor?

What the hell is going on?

Did they discover our human organ trafficking operation?"

A-ssi-ba!

Damn Choi Eun-ho!

You’re the one who wants to steal my business, but you're blaming me?!?

“A-a-a-a-ssi-ba!!”

Chae Jae-jin roared with anger, kicking the naked woman lying on the bed next to him, frantically pounding the bedcovers, like a crazy shrew in the marketplace.

Choi Eun-ho coughed softly, cleared his throat, and extended his finger again, making another call.

This time, his target was Zhang An-tae.

Before this, he had already confirmed through Park Guk-chang—whether Zhang An-tae had truly reached an agreement with Chae Jae-jin.

Chae Jae-jin’s reaction had already proved everything. The situation was unfolding as he expected.

"Eun-ho? What's up?"

On the other end of the phone, Zhang An-tae’s voice sounded quite cheerful, clearly in a good mood.
