Chapter 49
Panicking, Panicking

Choi Eun Ho didn't break his promise. Though their relationship had secretly fractured, he didn't immediately turn against him.

Just yesterday, they had successfully concluded a deal. Early this morning, he received a call from Choi Eun Ho.

“Dad, something went wrong at Cheojajin!”

Choi Eun Ho's voice was gloomy and serious.

“Tell me the details.”

Zhang Antai didn't panic. He was simply suspicious.

Logically, if something went wrong with the Chuannan Hui, they should have benefited from it.

But why was Choi Eun Ho so serious?

Could it be… that something went wrong with their recent collaboration?

He was just thinking about this when Choi Eun Ho answered.

“Regarding yesterday's deal, Cheojajin seems to be unhappy. He deliberately leaked the information to Park Jeong Won.

He's trying to turn this against us and then swallow our investment funds!”

On the other end of the phone, Zhang Antai abruptly stood up. He cursed with anger and suppression:

“Ah Si Ba! Those damn bastards, those scumbags dare to play us!”

However, Choi Eun Ho didn't let him vent his anger. He immediately interrupted, asking anxiously:

“Dad, where is Taishan now?”

Zhang Antai was stunned, as if he suddenly realized something. His face instantly turned pale, and cold sweat poured down.

“Your elder brother went to celebrate with the people from the Paradise Hospital after the deal yesterday. Could it be…?”

His voice trembled, filled with fear and a sense of foreboding.

Choi Eun Ho's voice was calm and reassuring: “No, they just want to use this to strike us, but they shouldn't go after your elder brother.

But the most important thing now is that Park Jeong Won is ready to bring the police in to investigate the Paradise Hospital thoroughly.”

Choi Eun Ho paused, giving Zhang Antai time to digest this news, and then continued:

“Call Taishan right now and tell him to come back immediately. Don't stay with the people from Paradise Hospital, and absolutely don't mention any reason.

We absolutely cannot let them realize our intentions. Otherwise, they might get scared and run, leading the prosecutor's office to investigate me through the chain.”

“Okay, okay, I'll handle it immediately!”

Zhang Antai's voice trembled slightly. His inner anxiety was like a raging river.

His flesh and blood, his son, was in danger. How could he stay calm?

As soon as he hung up the phone, he hurriedly searched for Zhang Taishan's name in his contacts. His fingers trembled as he dialed the familiar number.

“嘟嘟……嘟嘟嘟……”

The busy signal seemed to hammer against his heart, each sound urgent and heavy.

He hung up and dialed again, still unanswered.

The anxiety in his heart gradually turned into boundless fear. His fingers slid across the phone screen, leaving behind a trail of chaos.

“Ah Si Ba!”

He couldn't help but curse softly, his voice filled with helplessness and anger.

After a brief hesitation, he decided to call his daughter-in-law, although he didn't want to bother her at this time.

He took a deep breath and pressed the dial button.

On the other end of the line, a gentle voice came through, laced with a hint of confusion: “Hello, Dad, what's wrong?”

Zhang Antai tried to make his voice sound calm:

“Huina, is Taishan home?” He knew his voice was still a little agitated, but he was trying his best.

“Taishan Oppa didn't return home last night. Didn't he go out to discuss business with you?”

Park Huina's voice revealed a hint of confusion. She remembered Zhang Taishan had told her he would be out with his father discussing matters. However, this morning she received a call from her father asking this question, which surprised her a little.

“Well, yes, we were together last night,”

Zhang Antai responded softly.

“But he left the company this morning, and I haven't been able to find him since, so I called to ask. It's okay, everything is fine.”

Zhang Antai chuckled lightly and then quickly ended the call, worried that talking too much would reveal unnecessary secrets.

Park Huina was still completely unaware of their true underground identity.

In Zhang Taishan's life, Park Huina was a special existence, a childhood friend they had known since they were young.

Their emotional bond had been formed before Zhang Taishan acknowledged his father as the thief, and this deep affection had not diminished with time.

After Zhang Taishan returned to his family's embrace, he did not abandon this relationship. Instead, he asked his father to play the good guy, especially in front of Park Huina.

Zhang, the chairman, was overjoyed by his eldest son's return. Regarding his request, he naturally had no objections and readily accepted this role.

Three years ago, Zhang Taishan and Park Huina held a wedding ceremony.

Park Huina was an impeccable daughter-in-law. Her filial piety, her gentleness, her beauty, and the adorable granddaughter she brought to the family all made Zhang, the CEO, feel very satisfied.

Therefore, he was happy to maintain this role, continuing to play his part in this charade as the CEO of the company.
