Choi Eun Ho hurried forward, calling out, and Park Gook Chang gave him a reassuring look.
“Oppa, why are you only coming back now.”
The sound from behind made Jang So Sik turn around. She looked at Choi Eun Ho, her brows slightly furrowed, with a hint of reproach in her tone: “Even if you’re solving a case, you need to get some proper rest.”
She shifted the heavy package in her right hand to her left, raised her right hand, and gently rubbed it around Choi Eun Ho’s dark circles, her actions full of care and affection.
Jang So Sik was a determined and persistent woman. Since she believed that Choi Eun Ho was a kind man and her husband, then she firmly believed he was the other half of her life.
Jang So Sik’s thoughts were on how to fulfill the duty of a supportive wife while Choi Eun Ho worked hard for their family.
Choi Eun Ho was stunned for a moment. He tightly grasped Jang So Sik’s hand and gently kissed the back of it.
Jang So Sik felt a tingling sensation. Her cheeks flushed red, and she struggled lightly, only to find herself firmly held in Choi Eun Ho’s palm.
Her voice was soft, with a hint of shyness: “Someone’s watching.”
“Who dares to gossip!”
Park Gook Chang and the two investigating officers, seeing this, all smiled knowingly. They shook their heads in unison.
Then, Choi Eun Ho pulled Jang So Sik into the office.
He gently placed the bag in her hand on the table, his tired eyes full of inquiry: “So Sik, you came early this morning, is there something wrong?”
Jang So Sik smiled slightly. She gently opened the large bag in her hand and took out one exquisite little box after another: “Oppa went out to work early this morning, you must not have had breakfast yet.”
She pushed the two larger boxes towards Choi Eun Ho: “These are for you.”
She lifted the bag in her hand and said happily: “This is for Park’s officers.”
Choi Eun Ho looked at the breakfast in front of him, his heart filled with emotion. These exquisite breakfasts undoubtedly took a lot of time and effort from Jang So Sik.
Choi Eun Ho held Jang So Sik’s small hand tightly, feeling her cool skin, and said with overflowing affection: “You only need to make breakfast for me, don’t worry about the other few! This is too hard, I feel heartbroken when I see this!”
Really, to let my dear wife prepare breakfast for these single dogs is too cheap for them.
Choi Eun Ho felt incredibly heartbroken.
Jang So Sik gently pulled her hand back, rolled her eyes at him, and said reproachfully: “Just send breakfast to Oppa alone, does that make sense!”
“I’ll see who dares to eat it!” Choi Eun Ho snorted.
“Alright, I’ll go send them breakfast and then I can go home.”
Jang So Sik picked up her bag and walked out. After taking a few steps, she suddenly turned back and said happily: “Right, Oppa, I’ll be going back to work tomorrow.”
The chopsticks in Choi Eun Ho’s hand suddenly stopped in mid-air, but he quickly looked up and said in a reproaching tone: “You don’t need to work so hard, don’t you have a month’s honeymoon leave from the court? Take a good rest.”
Damn it, you’ll definitely be riding in my car after you go back to work, how will I go look for Lee Seon Mi and Choo Ji Hyun to discuss academic issues after work!
“Oppa, you’re always so busy, I feel lonely at home alone. After you finish with this period, why don’t we apply for leave together and go relax at some scenic place?” Her voice had a hint of anticipation, as if she was already fantasizing about that beautiful scene.
They had yet to have a honeymoon trip, and this regret grew silently in her heart. Mentioning it yesterday, she even received good-natured teasing from her seniors.
She couldn’t help but blush and shake her head, lifting her bag as if using this action to hide her embarrassment.
“Don’t forget to bring this bag back tonight.” Jang So Sik reminded softly, her cheeks flushed a faint red.
Choi Eun Ho nodded gently, without saying anything, he just silently continued eating breakfast.
His heart, however, felt touched by something, and a thought flashed across his mind like lightning: he already has such a beautiful wife at home, why would he need to seek those fleeting joys outside all the time?
Just change your taste occasionally if you have time.
Choi Eun Ho suddenly understood, he almost fell into a certain misconception, and now, he had woken up!
Choi Eun Ho stared at the breakfast in the box, a warm, cozy feeling slowly rising, and he couldn’t help but sigh softly.
In his past life in Lao Mo, the people around him were either betrayed by kindhearted villagers or unrestrained European and American special zones, he had never met a woman like her: she let down her guard, accepted him wholeheartedly, and even prepared a loving breakfast for him in the morning.
Choi Eun Ho took a hard bite of the pure meat sausage on the chopsticks, vowing to himself.
He decided that in the future, after discussing academics with his juniors, he must go home immediately!
No more staying out all night, he will be a good man!
Not long after, Park Gook Chang brought over the neatly organized briefcase, bowed deeply and said, “Thank you for the breakfast, sister-in-law, it was really delicious!”
Choi Eun Ho curled his lips and said with satisfaction while tidying up the boxes, “Humph, my wife cooked for you, it’s your good fortune.”
Park Gook Chang nodded with a smile.
Choi Eun Ho picked up the briefcase, curiously asking, “By the way, what did you tell my wife?”
Park Gook Chang replied, “Chief Jang assigned you a task, to investigate with Chief Park overnight.”
Choi Eun Ho nodded in satisfaction: “Good, remember to do the same next time.”
Choi Eun Ho thought to himself, this practical officer’s ability is truly excellent, very satisfying. The original owner had such a talented assistant, but still lived so pathetically, truly wasting such good resources.
Choi Eun Ho waved his hand lightly, signaling Park Gook Chang to leave.
He casually picked up the files that Park Gook Chang had prepared for him yesterday, and walked out of the office.
Choi Eun Ho had already decided to turn his lies into reality, he was going to play the role of a good citizen in Seoul.
Soon, he arrived at the door of Park Jung Won’s office, and knocked on the door with his hand.
“Come in.”
Park Jung Won’s voice came from inside the office.
Choi Eun Ho pushed open the door and bowed respectfully: “Chief.”
Park Jung Won was lying on the large chair, yawning, looking a little tired: “Eun Ho, didn’t we just part ways? What’s the matter?”
Choi Eun Ho shouted excitedly, “Chief, there’s a big case!” His voice instantly woke Park Jung Won up.
“What big case? Don’t scare people by being so dramatic.”
Park Jung Won was displeased.
Choi Eun Ho opened the file in his hand, placed it on the table, and pushed it towards Park Jung Won: “Chief, my practical officer found this document, the Cheonanhoe and the Seven Star Society are trafficking in human organs!”
