Chapter 24
The Prosecutor Is the Law

Ah, you bastard! Stop talking nonsense over there!

Che Zai Zhen shouted angrily.

You call yourself a righteous prosecutor, do you have no sense of shame at all?

Would a righteous prosecutor compete with gangsters for interests?

Hmph, whether you agree or not, whether you report to that minister or not, you need to think clearly—does he really know about this organ trafficking business?

Cui En Hao gently patted Che Zai Zhen's pale cheek and mocked,

Do you really think that once this matter is exposed, that minister will bury this case for your meager interests?

As Cui En Hao's words fell, Che Zai Zhen's expression darkened slightly; he was not without brains and naturally wouldn't think superficially.

He knew very well that once such a matter was exposed, the consequences would be unimaginable, and that powerful figure might very well abandon the Chuan Nan Society to protect himself.

Unless he could produce evidence of past bribery as leverage, but that would mean his relationship with that minister would be completely severed.

But what if he chose to tell that minister that everything was fabricated by Cui En Hao?

Then immediately cut off all ties with this industry and conduct a thorough cleansing.

Che Zai Zhen's gaze gradually focused, shining with a decisive light.

Cui En Hao seemed to see through Che Zai Zhen's thoughts and without hesitation revealed his trump card:

“It seems you didn't verify Jin Xi Yu's whereabouts yesterday; otherwise, why not give him a call to confirm?”

“What!”

“Bastard!”

Che Zai Zhen's eyes widened, his face flushed red as if he wanted to see through Cui En Hao. However, just a few seconds later, he deflated like a punctured balloon, collapsing weakly to the ground.

Che Zai Zhen felt powerless: “Please give me some time to think; I will give you a response tonight.”

Cui En Hao readily agreed, saying:

“Alright, then I won't disturb you; take your time to consider.”

With that, he opened the compartment door and left without looking back. Then, he took out his phone from his pocket and dialed Park Guo Chang's number.

“Hello, Guo Chang, take that team of standby police, and we're going to conduct a raid on prostitution and gambling.”

After Cui En Hao left, Che Zai Zhen's emotions exploded; he kicked over the table and cursed angrily.

“Bastard!

Cui En Hao, you completely disregard the rules!

Bastard!”

He wiped the blood from his face, his eyes dark as he pondered, and in the end, he still took out his phone and dialed that minister's number.

“Minister Han, are you aware that there is a prosecutor named Cui En Hao in the prosecutor's office?”

Han Cheng Dong frowned; although he was a minister, he couldn't possibly be familiar with every prosecutor in the office.

“This person is not simple; he actually dared to openly demand a bribe from me.”

“What?”

Han Cheng Dong was increasingly shocked; how could such an undisciplined prosecutor openly demand a bribe from a gangster?

This was simply breaking the unspoken rules; prosecutors should let gangsters and chaebols take the initiative to offer money and then pretend to reluctantly accept it, which would also leave them with fewer debts of gratitude.

To openly force others to pay money is worse than a bandit!

This breaks the rules; how can other prosecutors collect money? Everyone will just go rob instead!

“I have no prior acquaintance with him; he suddenly said he wanted to treat me to a meal today. At the dinner table, he forcibly threatened me for a territory protection fee.

I clearly stated that I was under your protection, yet he brutally beat me without regard for anything!”

Che Zai Zhen's voice carried a hint of a sob: “This is not just a physical assault on me, but a blatant provocation against your authority!”

Han Cheng Dong impatiently cursed loudly, abruptly hanging up the phone, and roughly wiped his water-stained right hand on his pants.

His gaze darkened as he shot a glare at his female secretary, a cold smile curling at the corners of his mouth: “I'll settle the score with you later.” He gripped the female secretary's conscience as if grasping her lifeline.

The female secretary's cheeks instantly flushed red as she hurriedly ran out of the office.

Han Cheng Dong snorted coldly, opened his computer, and skillfully searched for Cui En Hao's information in the prosecutor's office system.

Han Cheng Dong's expression suddenly darkened; he finally understood: “So it's Park Zheng Yuan's subordinate; no wonder he's been going against me!”

In his position, he had repeatedly suffered from Park Zheng Yuan and the second chief's constant suppression and exclusion, making him renowned in the second prosecutor's office but without real power, as authority had long since slipped away.

Han Cheng Dong coldly snorted, a determination rising in his heart.

Since the other party is Park Zheng Yuan's person, then he cannot let it go easily; he must make the other party understand that he, Han Cheng Dong, is not to be trifled with.

After flipping through the contacts, he finally found Park Zheng Yuan's number and immediately dialed it.

“Hello, Minister Park, have you had lunch yet?”

He gritted his teeth and asked in as calm a tone as possible.

On the other end of the line, Park Zheng Yuan was clearly surprised by his call:

“Oh, it's Minister Han. It's rare for you to have the time to call me; are you inviting me to lunch for some good news?”

Park Zheng Yuan's tone carried a hint of barely concealed sarcasm; he knew that Han Cheng Dong, his political rival, was always cunning, and this call was certainly not just a simple greeting.

“Park Zheng Yuan, let's not beat around the bush,”

Han Cheng Dong cut straight to the point, “Is there a prosecutor named Cui En Hao under you?”

Upon hearing this name, Park Zheng Yuan's surprise was evident: “Cui En Hao? Did he do something to upset Minister Han?”

Park Zheng Yuan had seen him not long ago; they only talked about going out for a meal, so how did it suddenly connect to Han Cheng Dong's call? Doubts filled Park Zheng Yuan's mind.

Han Cheng Dong was furious; he felt greatly insulted as Park Zheng Yuan put on an innocent act in front of him, but in reality, he was deeply scheming:

“Bastard! You’ve broken the rules!”

Han Cheng Dong's eyes widened, the veins on his forehead bulging, almost ready to spew fire.

That Cui En Hao was just a fresh recruit; how dare he negotiate with the gang without Park Zheng Yuan's permission and extort?

Park Zheng Yuan was also enraged by his fury,

“Bastard! Do you have a tumor in your brain?”

“That Cui En Hao under you went to ask for money from the Chuan Nan Society at noon today; is that not your intention?”

“I don't know!” Park Zheng Yuan's voice was filled with impatience.

“I don't care; you need to give me an explanation before tonight.” With that, Han Cheng Dong hung up the phone, his words filled with threat.

“Bastard! Stupid idiot, are you sick in the head?”

Park Zheng Yuan angrily smashed his phone against the floor! What a neurotic call that just insulted him and talked about breaking the rules.

“Bullshit rules; in this peninsula, prosecutors are the rules!”
