Chapter 23
Is There Still Justice?

Before leaving the Prosecutor’s Office lobby, Choi Eun Ho and his officers unexpectedly ran into Minister Park Jung Won at the elevator entrance on the first floor.

They quickly straightened up from their relaxed posture, stepping forward in unison and bowing deeply in respect.

“We have met Minister Park.” They greeted in unison, their tone full of respect.

Park Jung Won merely nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over them before calmly asking, “Are you guys heading out for lunch?”

“Yes, Minister, I’m taking them out to eat,” Choi Eun Ho replied, his attitude respectful and humble.

Park Jung Won looked at Choi Eun Ho curiously.

“Aren’t you on your honeymoon? Why aren’t you home?”

He seemed confused by Choi Eun Ho’s choice to return to work instead of enjoying the sweet bliss of his honeymoon.

Choi Eun Ho offered a faint smile, his eyes filled with respect and fervor as he looked at the Minister, speaking slowly, “Minister, the press conference is tomorrow. I came back to the Prosecutor’s Office early to prepare the materials. Moreover, this matter also involves you, Minister. For me, your business is more important than my own. I must do everything I can to ensure everything is ready.”

“Hahaha, don’t worry about it. These are all minor issues. Your bright future lies ahead.”

Park Jung Won was very pleased to hear Choi Eun Ho’s words. He couldn’t help but burst into laughter, and at the same time, he patted Choi Eun Ho on the shoulder as a gesture of encouragement.

“Thank you for your trust and guidance, Minister.”

Choi Eun Ho bowed deeply.

“Alright, go have your meal.” Park Jung Won waved his hand, indicating that they could leave. He then turned and walked towards his office.

The others bowed again, watching Park Jung Won leave.

Park Guk Chang stood silently in Choi Eun Ho’s shadow at this moment, a glimmer of admiration in his eyes.

He noticed that Choi Eun Ho seemed to have made significant progress in his social skills. He was no longer so direct and stiff, but had become more smooth and sophisticated.

Then, they went to the restaurant together, two cars driving towards their destination.

Two luxurious private rooms had been reserved for them. Park Guk Chang and Cha Jae Jin’s subordinates occupied the spacious large room, while Choi Eun Ho and Cha Jae Jin chose a more intimate smaller room for their conversation.

In the smaller room, Choi Eun Ho removed his jacket, rolled up his shirt sleeves, and untied his tie, starting to enjoy a lavish spread of food and drinks alone.

Before long, a muscular, burly man accompanied by two men with unfriendly expressions arrived at the door of the private room.

“I’m sorry, but I’m afraid your companions would be more comfortable joining us.”

Park Guk Chang reached out to stop the two followers behind Cha Jae Jin. He had been waiting at the entrance of the private room for some time.

Cha Jae Jin, however, simply waved his hand dismissively, gesturing for them to step aside. He then pushed open the door to the smaller room and walked in without hesitation.

“Oh, esteemed Prosecutor, such an elegant place makes this rough man feel a bit out of place.” As soon as Cha Jae Jin entered the room, he sat down opposite Choi Eun Ho in a swaggering manner, his voice loud and full of sarcasm.

In his opinion, the reason why the Prosecutor had invited him to dinner instead of arresting him directly was clearly to solicit a bribe.

However, he didn’t care. After all, he had “paid his respects” to that Minister with a lot of money. As long as he mentioned that name, it was enough to make the other party back down.

If it weren’t for the fact that the person sitting opposite him was Jang An Tae’s son-in-law, he might not even have given him any attention.

The fact that he was here was already a great respect for him.

Choi Eun Ho did not respond, but continued to drink and enjoy the food, his expression calm as if everything was going according to his expectations.

Cha Jae Jin’s face sank at Choi Eun Ho’s indifference. He pressed his hand firmly on the table and asked in a low voice,

“Prosecutor Choi, if you have any requests, just speak up. We will do everything we can to assist in the investigation. We will do everything we can to help if we can. But you’re not saying anything. Don’t you know how to be respectful?”

Choi Eun Ho gently sipped the last drop of wine in his glass, his brow slightly furrowed. He had only heard of Korean rice wine, but now that he had tasted it for himself, he found the taste somewhat diluted, which made him somewhat disappointed. He gently put down his chopsticks, his eyes fixed on Cha Jae Jin.

“Chairman Cha, regarding this tempting piece of cake that is Seoul Paradise Hospital, I wonder if Chairman Cha would be willing to be generous and share this deliciousness with us?”

“What hospital?” Cha Jae Jin’s eyes instantly sharpened, and he questioned with vigilance.

“Chairman Cha, why pretend you don’t know,” Choi Eun Ho said calmly.

“As Jang An Tae’s son-in-law, this kind of information is not difficult for me.”

“You want to give Seven Stars Society a share of the pie?”

Cha Jae Jin sneered, his hand on the edge of the table, his body leaning forward slightly, as if about to get up.

“If Chairman Cha thinks this is a joke, you’re wrong.” Choi Eun Ho replied unhurriedly, “I have a search warrant in my hands. If you leave, the hospital will be investigated immediately.”

“Ah-shi-bal! That’s outrageous! You dare threaten me?

I’ve given a lot of favors to a certain Minister in the Criminal Department. You’re just a new Prosecutor who’s unknown. In front of him, you’re just a tiny insignificant lapdog. You dare challenge me?”

Cha Jae Jin abruptly turned around, his hands gripping the edge of the table, propping his upper body up, his eyes blazing, staring at Kang Se Chul, his voice full of disdain.

“Oh? You actually have connections with the Minister? My apologies, my apologies.”

Choi Eun Ho seemed quite surprised. He picked up the wine bottle, stood up, and leaned towards Cha Jae Jin.

Seeing this, Cha Jae Jin secretly rejoiced in his heart. He gave a disdainful smile, relaxed his posture, and raised his glass in front of him.

“Favors? It’s just making a friend.”

I reveal my trump card, and you have to obediently pour me a drink.

An obscure ordinary Prosecutor, who dares to compete with me for food, is simply delusional.

“Bang!”

In the next second, Choi Eun Ho, gripping the neck of the wine bottle, smashed it down on Cha Jae Jin’s head with lightning speed. The bottle instantly shattered, and the crimson wine splashed like a wave, instantly dyeing Cha Jae Jin’s face red.

“Ah!!” He cried out in pain.

“Shi-bal!”

“Ah-shi-bal! You dare hit me!”

Cha Jae Jin frantically covered his head with both hands, his body losing its balance and falling backwards, landing heavily on the ground.

He struggled frantically, trying to prop himself up, and when he saw the blood all over his hands, anger and fear intertwined on his face:

“Shi-bal! What the hell are you trying to do!”

Choi Eun Ho walked around the table, went to his side, squatted down, his eyes blazing, and reprimanded in a low voice,

“Do you even have any respect for the law! Do you have any respect for the law of the Republic of Korea?

You dare use the name of the head of the Criminal Department of the Prosecutor’s Office to threaten a Prosecutor of the Republic of Korea who upholds justice!”
