Chapter 25
The Outstanding Official

Park Jeong Won couldn't help but frown slightly, a sense of foreboding creeping into his heart. Recently, Choi Eun Ho's actions had been drawing attention, a stark contrast to his low-key demeanor for the past half-year, leaving him feeling a sense of uncertainty. Park Jeong Won reached out and picked up his phone, dialing Choi Eun Ho's number without hesitation.

In the private room, the restaurant manager calmly observed Chae Jae Jin, bowing slightly, his voice soft as he said, "Sir, the guest mentioned that the expenses and compensation should be borne by you, totaling two million. What do you think..."

"What!" Chae Jae Jin slammed his fist on the table, his knuckles white with anger:

"Damn it! This damn Choi Eun Ho!"

"Sir, regarding the expenses..."

The manager's expression remained unreadable.

"I'll pay!"

Chae Jae Jin gritted his teeth, his heart filled with anger and helplessness. This restaurant, with its sprawling space near the prosecution office, must have some powerful government or conglomerate backing.

He couldn't afford to mess with them.

The manager bowed politely, a smile playing on his lips. "If the customer has any suggestions, please let me know, I will report it to the boss. The guest just called the police and an ambulance for you, please wait a moment, they will be here soon."

Chae Jae Jin's lips twitched, he muttered a weak "Thank you".

………

………

"Minister."

"Eun Ho, where are you now?"

"I'm currently in the North City District."

"Didn't you go for dinner? How did you end up so far away? What's with the sirens there?" Park Jeong Won asked curiously.

"It's like this, Minister. Today, while having dinner, I unexpectedly encountered Chae Jae Jin, the president of the Chonnam Association. After drinking, he felt remorseful, regretting his identity and previous actions. Coincidentally, he knew I was a prosecutor, so he reported an underground casino hidden somewhere to me. I'm currently conducting an arrest operation at the scene."

Choi Eun Ho answered seriously.

"Do you have any instructions, Minister?"

"Han Seong Dong from the Criminal Division 3 just asked me if you were trying to cause trouble for the Chonnam Association... demanding money?"

"Minister, my actions were simply to provoke him, not to extort money."

Choi Eun Ho explained,

"After all, we are having a press conference tomorrow. Taking him down first today, destroying an underground casino, will also provide some concrete evidence for our speech tomorrow, silencing those reporters and media."

Choi Eun Ho carefully weaved a net of truth, manipulating only a small detail. This was a carefully planned arrangement, aiming to make Park Jeong Won believe him completely after hearing everything.

However, this didn't mean he would reveal all the facts without reservation.

"Alright, you handle it, I'll explain to Han Seong Dong."

Park Jeong Won's trust in Choi Eun Ho clearly surpassed that of Han Seong Dong.

Choi Eun Ho obtaining concrete evidence would solidify his undercover identity, and prevent his bribery from being exposed, thereby avoiding any involvement.

Choi Eun Ho's intelligence and caution made Park Jeong Won nod silently, admiring the young man.

After everything was settled, Choi Eun Ho gently put down the phone, closing his eyes in exhaustion but satisfaction, taking a short break.

Park Guk Chang, in the driver's seat, reminded in an almost whispered voice, "Prosecutor Choi, you might not know, but Minister Park and Minister Han have irreconcilable conflicts.

In this game of power, you must stay alert, lest you become a casualty in their struggle."

Choi Eun Ho couldn't help but show a look of surprise. He hadn't expected such a deep rift between Park Jeong Won and Han Seong Dong, nor had he imagined that Park Guk Chang would be so knowledgeable about this complex power relationship.

He had a sudden realization, connecting the unseen minister behind Chae Jae Jin to Han Seong Dong.

Park Guk Chang's attentiveness and dedication made one look at him with fresh respect.

Unfortunately, he wasn't a woman.

He couldn't have a secretary to do everything, then do nothing!

Choi Eun Ho looked at his watch, only five minutes away from the underground casino mentioned in the intel. He lightly patted his face, tidying up his clothes slightly.

The destination was a warehouse located in a secluded corner of the North City District, beneath a dilapidated factory.

A straight road led to the factory area, rarely used by vehicles.

The team led by Choi Eun Ho consisted of seven or eight cars, creating a grand spectacle as they drove towards the factory gate.

The factory building appeared rather run-down, even the gatekeeper's booth was faded and dilapidated from the ravages of time.

"Hey! Stop!"

The security guard rushed out of the booth, attempting to stop the roaring convoy.

The convoy's speed exceeded his expectations, especially the lead police car. Before the guard could react, the car had already rammed through the boom barrier, rushing towards the factory building in the distance.

The police cars behind it followed one after another, like a string of fish, unstoppable.

"No good, boss! The cops are here! Oh my god, so many cops!"

The guard instantly snapped out of his daze, rushing back to the booth. However, before he could grab the walkie-talkie, he had already started shouting, his voice filled with panic.

"Put your hands up! Get down!"

Two armed police officers quickly jumped out of the police car, guns in hand, kicked open the booth door, and pointed their guns at the guard.

The guard, who was just about to grab the walkie-talkie, instantly retracted his hand, trembling as he slowly squatted down.

After years of being a gangster, he had never seen so many cops before, fear gripped his heart.

The police cars quickly dispersed, surrounding the small factory.

The officers stood by their cars, awaiting further instructions.

The police captain's gaze followed Choi Eun Ho, waiting for his orders.

On the peninsula, prosecutors had special authority over the police.

Choi Eun Ho took a deep breath, his voice firm and loud, "Move now!"

As soon as his voice fell, more than ten police officers charged into the factory, like tigers descending from a mountain.

"Damn it! Cops are here!"

"Go tell the boss!"

"All of you, stay put!"

"Get down!"

With the police pouring in, several gangsters shouted in panic.

They had been running rampant in this area for a long time, never having heard of such a large-scale police force coming in to search and arrest.

Under Choi Eun Ho's orders, several gang members were pinned to the ground. He didn't hesitate to wave his hand and give a new command:

"Search for the underground warehouse!"

His words were filled with undeniable authority.

Everyone immediately scattered, beginning to search the surroundings.

Suddenly, a voice rang out, "Prosecutor, it's here!"

Everyone rushed towards the source of the voice. They saw a man standing in front of an old iron-mesh elevator, excitedly waving to Choi Eun Ho.

Choi Eun Ho immediately gathered everyone, calmly issuing instructions:

"You three go down first, then you."

He prioritized his own safety. After all, no one knew if those casino thugs were carrying weapons.

Although they were wearing bulletproof vests and helmets, who could guarantee that there wasn't a gangster like in the movies, capable of taking a shot through the neck?

After all, his own life was the most important!
