Chapter 15
A Mistake Any Man Might Make

Just two minutes after hanging up the phone with Choi Eun Ho.

Chang Su Xi called.

The Seven Stars Society currently needs Choi Eun Ho's protection, and he has no reason to betray them. Perhaps, out of concern for himself and the Seven Stars Society, Choi Eun Ho is so anxious.

Thinking about this, Chang An Tae calmly narrated: "Eun Ho, the undercover agent sent by the Prosecution Service, I already know."

“Ah! You already know?” Chang Su Xi was taken aback, unable to believe it.

“That's right. Are you going to ask me why I haven't taken action, or directly eliminated him?”

Chang An Tae took a deep breath and slowed down his speech. He naturally understood his daughter deeply.

"Is that so?" Chang Su Xi remained silent for a moment, then asked in a voice that was almost inaudible.

“Because I don't want you to get hurt or upset about Eun Ho's matter. This middle-aged father began to weave a lie.

………

“I understand, the mistakes I made in my youth caused you and your mother a lot of pain. I am still your father, and I have deeply reflected on my past mistakes. I had no choice in the past, but now I just want to be a good person! A responsible father!”

Chang An Tae tightly grasped the opportunity Choi Eun Ho gave him and played the emotional card. Deep down, he still yearned to rebuild his relationship with his daughter.

“Haha! Father? I remember, you are just the head of the Seven Stars Society, the thug who used violence against my mother and led a group of vicious people to run rampant!”

Chang Su Xi sneered and continued: "Aspiring to be a responsible father? Besides this family, you also have an illegitimate child in her twenties outside. Can that be considered a good father?"

Chang An Tae anxiously said, “Su Xi, I just made a mistake that every man might make. Can’t you forgive me yet? And Su Yeon has always been eager to meet you. She hasn't done anything wrong.” His voice revealed helplessness and urgency.

Chang Su Xi decisively cut off the call, leaving Chang An Tae only to hear the sound of the busy tone.

“Su Xi! Su Xi! A-ssi-ba!”

He furiously strode into the conference room and slammed the phone onto the conference table, making a loud bang.

The Seven Stars Society executives in the conference room were all startled. They stood up one after another, clasped their hands in front of them, looked at each other, and dared not make a sound.

They felt a tense atmosphere enveloping the entire room, as if something terrible could happen at any moment.

As one of the major controllers of the Seoul underworld, the head of the Seven Stars Society is a prominent figure in the city. But in front of the young lady, he always loses control of his emotions and shows an impotent rage.

During the meeting, they vaguely heard the boss calling out that name loudly in the corridor. Many people had already stood up in advance, lest they become his target for venting his anger.

………

………

Chang Su Xi gently put down the phone. Her fingers unconsciously tightened, gripping the phone tightly. Her brow was furrowed, and her eyes were filled with doubt and confusion.

"Is Eun Ho Oppa sincere with me, or did he collude with that man to fabricate a scheme?"

Chang Su Xi’s heart was filled with questions. "Could it be that I am overthinking?"

She tried to get her thoughts in order, but the various words and the secret plan she heard that night swirled in her mind, preventing her from thinking clearly.

Chang Su Xi's heart felt like a tangled mess, impossible to unravel no matter what.

After a long time, she slowly raised her head, her eyes flashing with a determined light. It seemed as if she had made a decision deep down inside.

“Since Eun Ho Oppa said that the truth will be revealed on Monday, why should I worry about it here?”

She muttered to herself, as if comforting herself.

In front of Eun Ho Oppa's perfect image, her father seemed so insidious and cunning, his crimes piled high. Since she met Choi Eun Ho, he has consistently played the role of the righteous prosecutor, bringing her peace of mind.

Although a sliver of doubt remained in Chang Su Xi's heart, she would leave that for later. As long as Choi Eun Ho stayed on the side of justice, her heart would have a place to rely on.

………

………

Choi Eun Ho and Chang An Tae briefly exchanged about the details of the plan, which also involved Chang Su Xi's opinions about them.

As the time was nearing the end, Choi Eun Ho felt it was time to end the conversation.

You fool, Chang An Tae! The Prosecutor's Office gave you information beforehand because they think highly of you! How dare you act arrogant in front of the Prosecutor! Do you think my father-in-law's position allows you to do whatever you want? I tell you, I can send you to prison at any moment!

Choi Eun Ho angrily pounded the table, making a loud noise, followed by his angry curses.

Although this was just a play, the emotions Choi Eun Ho revealed were exceptionally genuine.

Chang An Tae holds a handle over me, which allows him to threaten me and force me to complete task after task. He says that his son-in-law is like his own son, but in reality, he is just a more valuable tool in his hands. Perhaps Chang An Tae still has a sliver of genuine feelings for his daughter, but that feeling is no match for his desire for power. Otherwise, he would have long since relinquished his power and enjoyed his old age.

Outside the door, a group of associates had been waiting for a long time. The sudden loud noise from inside the room instantly made them nervous. They eagerly twisted the doorknob and rushed in.

"Stop!"

"A-ssi-ba!"

"Prosecutors are so awesome!"

"Head! Are you alright?"

Chang An Tae leaned back in his chair, his face ashen. He waved to everyone, signaling them not to block the doorway. His ashen face was half feigned, and half due to the fact that he felt the real and intense emotions from Choi Eun Ho's recent scolding. He really seemed to want to do that.

Choi Eun Ho's gaze was sharp, sweeping over the silent group of people at the doorway. His lips curled into a contemptuous smile. His long legs took a step, ready to leave this place of strife.

“Head!” A call broke the silence. Although most people stepped back upon hearing it, making way, a few still stared at Choi Eun Ho with unwavering eyes, refusing to budge.

“All of you, disperse!” Chang An Tae’s voice held an unquestionable authority.

Upon hearing this, Choi Eun Ho’s lips curled into a smug smile. He glanced at Han Ki Sang, whose head was wrapped in bandages, and suddenly stopped in his tracks. He extended his finger, gently patting Han Ki Sang's cheek. The smile on his lips deepened. As a member of the underworld, you must follow the rules. Don’t look at a prosecutor with that kind of gaze. The reason I am not making a fuss is for Chang Head’s sake.

His voice was soft, but it carried a warning.
