Chapter 17
I'm a Flying Genius

“Good afternoon.”

“Good afternoon, Madam Hooch.”

As a woman with short gray hair walked by, the originally noisy lawn fell silent.

Zhang Dong looked at Madam Hooch in front of him. Unlike the other professors, everyone called her Madam Hooch, not Professor Hooch. This was because she only taught them Flying for one year. After all, flying was a talent, and it was difficult to learn everything in a year. What you learned in the first year would more or less be what you ended up with.

“Is she our Flying teacher?” Harry asked excitedly, his voice low as he looked at Madam Hooch. He was inexplicably thrilled at the mention of flying.

Ron, on the other side, nodded slightly and whispered, “Yes, she’s Madam Hooch. I heard she flew on a broomstick during the First War. She even got hit by an anti-aircraft gun. She’s really embarrassed about it.”

“Why? Getting hit by an anti-aircraft gun and not dying is super cool, right?” Harry didn’t understand why Madam Hooch would feel ashamed about such a cool thing.

Zhang Dong thought for a moment, then explained to him, “Those airship cannons from the First War couldn’t even handle the most basic wooden biplanes, but they actually managed to shoot down a witch’s flying broomstick. If you think about it, it’s kind of embarrassing for a witch.”

“Okay.” Harry thought about it and nodded silently.

“But her eyes are so beautiful.” Hermione said with envy. Girls always have different focuses than boys.

It was undeniable that Madam Hooch’s eyes were indeed beautiful, yellow and hawk-like.

“Alright, hurry up, place your hands on top of the broomstick, and then shout, ‘Up!’”

Madam Hooch began her lesson. As soon as they heard her words, the eager little snakes and lions immediately reached out and shouted.

“Up!”

As the first voice rang out, a broomstick instantly fell into Harry Potter’s hands.

A flying genius, no doubt.

Zhang Dong glanced at him, then looked towards Malfoy.

“Up, up!”

With just two shouts, the broomstick fell into Malfoy’s hands. He flashed a smug smile. As the second best flying talent after Harry, he had every right to be smug.

Zhang Dong thought so, and casually said,

“Up, up, up!”

Swish!

Almost the moment the third word left his mouth, the broomstick landed in Zhang Dong’s hands.

Damn!!

Zhang Dong was stunned. What was this? It listened to me after just one shout! Could it be? Am I actually a flying genius?

Zhang Dong finally understood why he hadn’t been able to draw the flying talent from Harry three times. It turned out that his talent wasn’t bad at all.

This was normal. Judging from the previous lessons, if there were no video rewards, his Transfiguration talent and Potions talent would likely be close to zero. He knew he had no Herbology or Divination talent either. If he didn’t have a flying talent, what was Zhang Dong?

A total loser?

Now this was normal.

“But my talent is still a bit worse than Malfoy and Harry. If Harry’s flying talent is top-tier, then, based on the comparison, mine must be at least high-level.”

Thinking this, Zhang Dong felt relieved. At least he wouldn’t have to worry about failing Flying.

Actually, Zhang Dong’s flying talent was quite good. It was definitely the level to join the Quidditch team. He was even better than Wood, the Weasley twins, and could definitely be a Seeker.

“If I had been in Ravenclaw, I could have definitely joined the Quidditch team in my first year!”

A Quidditch match requires eight players.

Seven players compete, and one is a reserve.

But Ravenclaw, on the other hand, struggled to even assemble a team of seven.

“Speaking of which, I think Cho Chang has always been interested in Quidditch. If I remember correctly, she later became Ravenclaw’s Seeker, right?”

Zhang Qiu’s flying talent was on par with Zhang Dong’s. If Cedric, Harry, and Malfoy hadn’t been so dazzling, Zhang Qiu might have actually been able to win the Quidditch Cup for Ravenclaw.

“Next, gently mount your broomstick, lean forward slightly, maintain your balance, and gently push off with your legs. Don’t use too much force, just let the broomstick rise three feet.”

Just as Madam Hooch finished speaking, a figure flew out of the Gryffindor team!

“Neville! Neville! We haven’t started yet!”

Neville Longbottom, the Gryffindor Sword Saint who could cause trouble even when his feet were on the ground, was now even more out of control with his feet off the ground.

Seeing this, Zhang Dong sighed helplessly. He considered whether to remind Neville beforehand, but he quickly gave up the idea because…

If he were reminded, he wouldn’t make the mistake. And then he wouldn’t be Neville Longbottom.

Buzz!

Neville’s body instantly flew to a hundred meters high, then began to circle around the field.

“I’ll take care of it!”

Madam Hooch quickly drew her wand to rescue Neville. However, Neville, in a steep dive, charged towards Madam Hooch!

And then…

Madam Hooch, with a nimble cat-like dodge, evaded the dive… evaded…

“Ah!!”

Neville was still screaming. Then, he finally lost control of his body and fell from the sky!

“Neville!!”

The young witches and wizards shouted anxiously.

They watched Neville’s body plummet from hundreds of meters high. A few timid girls even covered their eyes.

At that moment, Zhang Dong suddenly drew his wand.

Wingardium Leviosa

He used the intermediate Levitation Charm in an instant. Neville’s body was fixed in place a meter above the ground, then slowly descended.

“This is!!”

Everyone looked at Zhang Dong, especially Madam Hooch. Even though she hadn’t been promoted to Professor, her strength and eyesight were still impressive.

“A beautiful Levitation Charm! Five points for Gryffindor!”

After Madam Hooch finished speaking, she finally breathed a sigh of relief, then ran to Neville’s side and said with concern.

“Mr. Longbottom, are you alright?”

Although he hadn’t fallen, the rapid movement in the air could still cause ear deafness, tinnitus, and congestion. For those with weak hearts, there was even a risk of sudden death, so it was still necessary to go to the hospital wing.

However, as Madam Hooch left, everyone’s gaze fell on Zhang Dong.

Was that him? Was that what he just did?
