When Konev led his Red Alert army out of the mountains to Moscow, it was almost midnight.
Armored vehicles and Rhino tanks, with their cannons raised high, drove into Moscow in the red glow of their engines.
The hard alloy tracks made a rattling sound on the concrete.
The surrounding residents woke up and rushed outside.
The convoy alone was enough to stun them.
The armored vehicles were sturdy and massive, with machine guns poking out from their roofs.
The brawny machine gunners on the vehicles, each holding a machine gun, were vigilant, looking around.
The Rhino tanks, with their futuristic appearance and thick, powerful cannons, also shocked the people on the roadside.
They had never seen such powerful tanks, with their thick armor and heavy cannons.
And it was obvious that they were not from the Bear Union or the West!
“What’s happening?”
“Is there an enemy invading our Moscow?”
“These troops’ armored vehicles are too advanced!”
“Look at the infantry behind!”
“My goodness, so many! Each of them is over two meters tall, they’re so strong!”
“My God, they look like us, could it be our secret forces?”
“Regardless, these troops look like they can fight! They are so strong!”
“Whose army is this?! So many people entering the city at night, is that fool Gorbachev up to something again?”
The people were in a panic. The Bear Union could not afford more disruptions.
But seeing the tens of thousands of people entering the city tonight, the residents around the city looked worried and sighed as they went back home.
It seemed to them that the lifespan of the Bear Union had become even shorter.
On the main streets of Moscow, Konev’s army proceeded smoothly, heading straight to the Kremlin.
The city defense force checks, and mechanical armor progress audits, which should have been encountered, were all arranged in advance by Konev.
The Bear Union was now impoverished, and even the officers were broke.
Not to mention the massive number of soldiers, their daily food, water, and waste disposal were a significant expense, not to mention equipment costs, soldier salaries, and all sorts of other economic outlays.
Even commanders who were incredibly brave on the battlefield would worry about this, their brows furrowed.
But for Konev, the mines in the Red Alert base were digging 24 hours a day.
Real mines were much more durable than those in the game.
One Red Alert base vehicle had been deployed and began digging metal ore, and even now, it still had 70% of its reserves left.
The other dozen or so mines had even more reserves.
With so much money, spewing out nonstop, 24 hours a day, Konev easily managed to buy over many officials.
After all, the people Konev found were all staunch supporters of the Bear Union, and they would truly stand with Konev in a real fight.
Among those who supported Konev were high-ranking officials of the Union, such as Vice President of the Bear Union Yanaev, KGB leader Kryuchkov, and Bear Union Minister of Defense, Marshal Yazov…
And now they were heading to the Kremlin, the symbol of the highest power in the Bear Union, the office of the Supreme Leader.
An hour later, the Kremlin appeared before Konev’s eyes.
Even though it was now midnight, the Kremlin under the moonlight still exuded an imposing presence.
On the upper floors of the Kremlin, Bear Union Vice President Yanaev, KGB leader Kryuchkov, and Bear Union Minister of Defense Marshal Yazov had been waiting for a long time.
They all knew that tonight would be a night that would change the Bear Union.
The Minister of State Security of the Union, who had risen rapidly in a year, would do something tonight that would go down in human history.
He would either succeed or die trying!
He would either seize power, lead them back to the restoration of the Bear Union, or watch helplessly as this glorious grand alliance perished.
Ten minutes later, 50,000 Red Alert soldiers surrounded the Kremlin.
The innermost layer was a dense formation of infantry, while the outer layer was a deployment of armored vehicles and Rhino tanks.
There were also 100 armed helicopters patrolling and guarding the sky.
It could be said that the Kremlin was now the safest place in the entire Bear Union, without a doubt.
Under the gaze of thousands, Konev’s special car stopped at the entrance of the Kremlin.
Bodyguards opened the door, and Konev, flanked by a group of bodyguards, walked into the Kremlin with his head held high.
The security inside the Kremlin had already been arranged.
Konev walked into the magnificent hall, and Bear Union Vice President Yanaev, KGB leader Kryuchkov, Bear Union Minister of Defense Marshal Yazov, and other high-ranking officials of the Bear Union had already lined up in two rows.
They stood on either side, saluting with a snap, expressing their respect to the Minister of State Security of the Union, Konev, Gorbachev’s son, the future President of the Bear Union, who had the courage to gamble his life and the strength to surround the Kremlin and initiate a coup d’état.
The dozen or so people all had resolute expressions on their faces. They looked at Konev, who was striding forward, and felt an overwhelming sense of pressure they had never experienced before in his calm and composed demeanor.
Konev simply waved at them and continued walking toward the interior.
Immediately after, they quickly followed in Konev’s footsteps, heading towards Gorbachev’s residence.
They all wanted to witness history.
They wanted to see Gorbachev, the weak and incompetent man who always blamed his subordinates for his failures, receive his due punishment!
He would be forced to abdicate by his own son!
As they walked, they passed by the majestic Presidential Corridor.
Here, portraits of all the Presidents of the Bear Union were hung.
On both sides of this 10-meter-high, spacious corridor, each of the massive presidential portraits was three meters tall.
Konev looked up as they walked, staring into the eyes of each president.
When he saw Gorbachev’s portrait at the end, Konev slowed his pace, his expression resolute, and walked past without expression.
A few minutes later, the group of high-ranking officials of the Bear Union reached the entrance of Gorbachev’s sleeping quarters.
The circling of hundreds of armed helicopters outside had already made him uneasy. When he heard the knock, he strode out.
Before Gorbachev could scold him, he saw Konev standing at the door, his expression serious.
Konev was accompanied by high-ranking officials who were all supporting the Bear Union, and behind them were nearly a hundred tall, strong, fully armed soldiers!
Just one glance, and Gorbachev instantly realized that the people before him were about to rebel!
But he never imagined that the one at the front would be his own son, Konev!
“What are you doing, Konev?!”
“You’re just the Minister of State Security of the Union, your job is to protect me!”
“Have you been brainwashed by them? Didn’t you say you wanted to enjoy the sweet air of democracy and freedom with me? Wake up!”
“You people, you’re seducing my son to rebel, I’m going to execute you today!”
As Gorbachev spoke, he tried to pull Konev behind him.
He wanted to use the distinction between execution and other treatment to divide and alienate them.
But Konev’s eyes were cold, like those of a stranger, and he couldn’t be moved.
Gorbachev’s heart instantly panicked, he took a step back and angrily shouted at Konev:
“What are you doing! You’re going to rebel against your father, you’re going to betray our Bear Union?!”
