The next day.
Dalao Guang and Kang Bo returned with grim expressions.
Dalao Guang went straight to his room upon returning.
Kang Bo, on the other hand, sat down with a displeased look.
“That bull-headed fellow, you just can’t reason with him!” Kang Bo muttered under his breath.
“Big brother, you can’t force a cow to drink water if it doesn’t want to. Come, have some tea.” Kang Er Zheng comforted him.
“We need to arrange something for A Yao first.” Kang Bo took the teacup and said with a frown.
In the following days.
A Yao and Kang Bo played hide-and-seek.
A Yao would often sneak back late at night.
He would leave early in the morning.
It made it impossible for Kang Bo to find him for a blind date.
One night.
Kang Bo waited until past eleven for A Yao’s sake to find someone to go on a blind date with him.
“Big brother, why don’t you go to sleep first?” Kang Er Zheng looked at the time.
“No, I’m waiting for A Yao to come back.” Kang Bo waved his hand, refusing his suggestion.
Kang Er Zheng sighed helplessly and sent A Yao a message, telling him to figure it out himself.
Kang Er Zheng turned and left.
It was getting late, and he needed to rest.
Staying up too late would affect his handsome face.
He had just stepped out when he ran into A Yao.
“Has Dad gone to sleep?” A Yao asked.
“He’s inside. He’s not going to bed until you come back.” Kang Er Zheng pointed inside and whispered a warning.
A Yao nodded.
Then he quietly tiptoed inside.
But he had only taken a few steps when Kang Bo knew he was back.
Kang Bo launched into a lengthy lecture, trying to brainwash A Yao.
A Yao had no choice but to agree to go on the blind date.
The next morning, A Yao slipped out the door before six, completely ditching his father.
Kang Er Zheng was reading the newspaper.
It was too boring over there, and it wasn’t as interesting as here.
There were fresh things happening every day.
It was much more interesting to be involved in the plot than to just watch it.
“Old woman, where is A Yao?” Kang Bo rushed out, asking while adjusting his clothes.
“He was still here when I went out to buy groceries, but he wasn’t here when I came back.” The old woman replied.
“A Zheng, have you seen A Yao?” Kang Bo looked at Kang Er Zheng.
“I saw him. He left early this morning.” Kang Er Zheng nodded.
“He has a blind date arranged at the matchmaking agency today. Why didn’t you tell him?” Kang Bo frowned and asked the old woman.
“How would I know it was today?” The old woman shook her head, confused.
“You’re a useless old crone! You can’t be trusted!” Kang Bo scolded her angrily.
“Forget it, you call him.” The old woman was helpless, why was it her fault?
Kang Bo called A Yao several times, but there was no answer.
“Big brother, maybe we should just forget about it.” Kang Er Zheng suggested.
“No, I’m going to find the matchmaking agency now and cancel the meeting for today.” Kang Bo rushed out the door.
The old woman sighed helplessly.
“Sister-in-law, what do you think of A Guang and A Yao’s prospective partners?” Kang Er Zheng asked the old woman, who was cleaning.
“They are…,” the old woman recalled their appearance.
“I can’t really say. But since A Guang and they liked them, they should be good. It’s just that the old man doesn’t agree.” The old woman replied.
“They are quite good. Xiang Lan, although she is from out of town, is hardworking, a good homemaker, and a very honest person. I’ve also checked out her family situation. Though it’s not great, they are all simple farmers.” Kang Er Zheng said.
“Is that so?” The old woman nodded. “Then they are quite good.”
“Besides, A Guang is already forty years old. Even if he finds someone around the same age, she’d be in her thirties. Giving birth then would be considered high-risk pregnancy.” Kang Er Zheng continued to persuade.
“Also, nowadays, city girls, when they get married, they require a car and a house. A Guang wouldn’t be able to afford it if he wants to find a city girl.” Kang Er Zheng continued.
“If A Guang wants to get married, we two old geezers, even if we have to use our life savings, we will support him.” The old woman said seriously.
“Big sister, you’re so generous! But if he marries a shrew or a spoiled brat, how will they live together in the future? What if they have a bad time and get divorced? What will A Guang do then? What if he is so upset that he can’t take it anymore?” Kang Er Zheng played his trump card.
“That can’t be right.” The old woman became a little worried when she heard this.
“I’ll talk to the old man.” The old woman also felt it was possible and decided to persuade Kang Bo.
“Don’t say it was me. I’m worried that big brother will say I’m interfering in his son’s marriage.” Kang Er Zheng reminded her.
“Silly child, we are all family. You are his younger brother, it is normal for you to be worried about your nephew’s marriage.” The old woman shook her head with a smile.
“I know, but you know big brother. He doesn’t like people interfering with his choices. Only big sister’s words can persuade him.” Kang Er Zheng looked at the old woman’s kind smile and felt a sense of warmth.
The old woman continued to clean.
A Zu got up and was on the phone, talking for a long time.
It seemed like it was a girl.
In the evening.
“Dad, I want to make it clear. I am not going on any blind dates. All the women in the matchmaking agency are either old maids or ugly monsters.” Kang Bo confronted his father when he came back, stating his position.
“Who said that? There are many beautiful and virtuous women in the matchmaking agency.” The old man said stubbornly.
“Really? Then why don’t you introduce me to some?” A Zu asked his father as soon as he heard about beautiful girls.
“You still need someone to introduce you? I heard you on the phone today, talking for the whole afternoon, and with different girls!” Kang Er Zheng exposed him.
“Uncle, those were not official.” A Zu scratched his head, a little embarrassed.
“Not official?” The old woman shook her head.
“Just ordinary friends.” A Zu scratched his head, a little embarrassed.
“Dad, you are biased. You only care about big brother and third brother. I haven’t gotten married either.” A Zu walked to Kang Bo’s side, hoping he could get him a match too.
Kang Er Zheng was helpless. This guy was already in the flower garden, yet he wanted someone else to pick a flower for him.
“Me too.” The little guy, Tian Xiu, actually stood up and said.
“You too, what?” The second sister-in-law glared at him angrily.
“I haven’t gotten married either.” Tian Xiu said loudly.
“Hahaha.” Everyone laughed after hearing that.
“What does that have to do with you?” The second sister-in-law angrily knocked his head.
“Beep beep beep,” the phone suddenly rang.
“Who is it?” Tian Xiu picked up the phone. “Uncle, your phone, it’s a girl.”
A Zu showed an awkward smile.
He took the phone and went to the back of the door to answer it.
“He still says he doesn’t have a girlfriend.” Kang Er Zheng shook his head.
“This guy has so many girlfriends, he doesn’t even know which one is the real one.” A Yao also shook his head helplessly.
This younger brother was smooth-talking and good at sweet-talking girls.
Kang Bo originally didn’t plan to worry about A Zu first.
He would deal with the two difficult ones first, and this little one could wait.
But when A Zu went out at eleven that night.
Kang Bo decided to find him a proper match, to make him settle down.
