Chapter 20
Cumber's Worry

The day after the birthday banquet.

“Big Brother, where are you going so early?” Kang Er Zheng looked at Kang Bo who was dressed up.

“I'm going to the marriage introduction agency.” Kang Bo didn't intend to hide it from Kang Er Zheng.

“Marriage introduction agency? No way, Big Brother, are you going to find a younger one or are you planning to abandon your wife? I won't agree to it.” Kang Er Zheng joked intentionally.

“What nonsense!” Kang Bo glared at him angrily. “I’m going to find one for A Guang and A Yao.”

“A Guang and A Yao? They both have girlfriends, why go to the marriage introduction agency?” Kang Er Zheng asked. “Xiang Lan and Xing Zi are pretty good too.”

“Good for what?” When it came to the two of them, Kang Bo's face turned sour. “Hmph, this Xiang Lan is a girl from a province outside, and this Xing Zi, she’s so arrogant.”

Mentioning Xing Zi made the old man even more angry.

This girl from Magic City, she dared to criticize Yang City, where he had lived since childhood, really pissed him off.

“She’s a Magic City lady, naturally she has the qualifications to be arrogant.” Kang Er Zheng smiled and comforted him.

“Hmph.” Kang Bo snorted coldly. “So what if she's a Magic City lady, our Yang City girls are no worse than them.”

“Do A Guang and A Yao know about this?” Kang Er Zheng asked.

“No need to ask them. In matters of marriage, since ancient times, it's always been the parents' decision.” Kang Bo said decisively.

“Big Brother, the Manchu Qing Dynasty has been overthrown for so many years, is it appropriate for you to do this?” Kang Er Zheng said helplessly.

“What’s inappropriate? I’m doing it for their own good.” Kang Bo said righteously.

Kang Er Zheng felt helpless.

He knew his brother was very stubborn.

Because he was just a brother without blood ties, he couldn’t get involved in his brother's and his son’s marriage affairs too much.

Kang Bo walked outside.

“It's up to you guys.” Kang Er Zheng mumbled.

These brothers have been respectful to him lately.

“I have to give them a heads-up.” Kang Er Zheng thought and decided to give them a heads-up.

This old man, his brother, was really too old-fashioned.

“What? Dad is setting us up on blind dates?” A Yao was startled when he got the call.

“Yes, he just went to register. We'll probably be going on blind dates in the next two days. I think you’ll go first, and then it’ll be you.” Kang Er Zheng nodded and said.

“This.” A Yao also frowned in distress. “Little Uncle, do you have any way to help me?”

“What can I do? You are my brother’s son, not mine. If I speak up, Big Brother won’t listen. If I say too much, what if he kicks me out of the Kang family?” Kang Er Zheng shrugged.

“That's true. Forget it, I’ll figure out a way myself. Little Uncle, if Dad has anything, remember to remind me.” A Yao pleaded.

“No problem.” Kang Er Zheng agreed.

After calling A Yao, he wanted to call A Guang.

But A Guang didn't have a phone at this time.

And he didn’t even have a pager.

If he wanted to find him, he had to call his leather factory.

“I’ll talk to him later tonight.” Kang Er Zheng thought and said.

He also heard that A Guang's factory was about to close down.

Now they were only paid 70% of their wages.

The already meager wages were now even worse.

An hour later, Kang Bo came back with a black face.

“What happened, Big Brother? Didn’t you find any suitable candidates?” Kang Er Zheng asked curiously.

“No, it’s just that a blind date costs more than 300, and for the two of them, I spent over 700.” Kang Bo said, his heart aching.

“Well, there’s no other way. It’s a fortune spent to ward off misfortune. You wanted to find wives for A Guang and A Yao. They already have girlfriends. If you agreed, you wouldn't have to spend any money.” Kang Er Zheng said with a smile.

“No, I'd rather spend money, I won’t agree with them finding those two girlfriends.” Kang Bo’s attitude was firm.

“Big Brother, I don't understand. In A Yao's case, I can understand, but why can’t A Guang find Xiang Lan?” Kang Er Zheng asked curiously.

“Sigh.” Kang Bo sighed.

“You think I want this? That Xiang Lan, she looks okay, but what about her family’s situation? It's just average, and she’s still working in agriculture. If she marries A Guang, what will happen in the future? They both work in the leather factory. I heard it’s going to close down soon, what will happen to them when they lose their jobs? How will they support themselves, and Xiang Lan’s parents need to be supported.”

“If they get married and have children, how will they have children, and how will they support their children? When the children grow up, they need to register for residence and go to school, what will they do?” Kang Bo expressed all his worries.

He was prejudiced, but not simply prejudiced.

He also had reasons for being worried about A Guang.

He worried about A Guang and his wife not being able to live a good life.

He worried about A Guang's future.

“Besides, A Guang is almost 39, one more year and he’ll turn 40. Xiang Lan is only in her 20s. She’s almost a whole generation younger than him. A wife much younger than her husband, what will happen when she gets old?” Kang Bo continued to express his concerns.

Kang Er Zheng nodded.

He thought that his brother simply didn’t like wives from other provinces.

It turned out there were other reasons.

He could also understand his brother’s thoughts.

In the original storyline, A Guang and Xiang Lan got married and did indeed have a difficult time.

They both had low education and no skills.

They just did ordinary hard labor.

First they worked at the tea restaurant for A Zong, and then they opened their own hair salon and made a little money.

Then they went to Liejia Village to do repair work.

After they moved back to Xiguan, they helped out in the hotel.

In the end, they became deliverymen, and they were still doing hard labor in their 60s.

Although their lives were hard.

But they were very loving as a couple.

Of the four Kang brothers, the other three were divorced, but they were together until the end.

For a moment, the atmosphere was a little tense.

Kang Er Zheng didn’t know what to say.

He knew the plot, Xiang Lan was fine, she was a good daughter-in-law and a good wife.

Now Kang Bo had a lot of prejudice and worries about her.

He couldn't speak up.

He could only secretly help.

It was 6:30 in the evening.

Everyone sat in the living room eating dinner.

A Guang and Kang Bo were talking about blind dates in the room.

“I'm back.” A Yao came in from outside.

“Third Uncle, you’re back very late today.” The second sister-in-law said.

“I had to deliver documents.” A Yao found an excuse.

“Deliver documents? So late? Third Uncle, you’re trying to fool ghosts.” The second sister-in-law directly exposed him.

“I think you little rascal must be on a date.” A Zong said with a smile.

A Yao was a little embarrassed. He was immediately exposed.

He did indeed go to see Xing Zi.

“Where are Big Brother and Dad?” A Yao changed the subject.

“They’re in the room.” The housekeeper pointed to the room. She was holding a bowl and chopsticks with food, ready to take them in.

“What are they doing in the room?” A Yao asked curiously.

“They’re talking about blind dates. Your dad is setting up blind dates for you. You guys don’t know, your dad spent a lot of money today for the two of you, more than 700 for the registration fee.” Kang Er Zheng said.

“Blind dates?!” Everyone was shocked.

“Yes, your dad was dissatisfied with the girlfriends you two brought yesterday, so.” Kang Er Zheng didn’t say it all, but the meaning was obvious.

“Dad, can’t you just stop it? It’s so unreasonable.” A Guang’s dissatisfied voice came from the room while they were discussing.

A Yao’s face looked a little bad.

After the boss A Guang was settled, wouldn’t it be his turn?

Big Brother, you have to hold on.

A Yao secretly prayed.

He didn’t know what they talked about.

In the end, A Guang still succumbed to Kang Bo's fatherly authority and agreed to go on a blind date tomorrow.

Everyone remained silent.

Anyway, the boss A Guang’s face didn’t look good.
