Chapter 46: Taming the Eevee
(Second update!! New book seeking collections, seeking flowers! Thanks to “As if it’s a dream?” for the reward!)
Arriving at the warrior boy’s house, Satoshi used the Healing Spray to treat Pikachu’s injuries, then took out the Bluk Berries he collected from the forest to help Pikachu replenish his energy.
Seeing Eevee, who was still unconscious, Satoshi also treated its injuries with the Healing Spray. He gently stroked its fur, and perhaps sensing Satoshi’s touch, Eevee slowly regained consciousness.
Waking up, Eevee found itself in a room, slightly squinting its eyes, it didn't move. Through the weak light, it saw Satoshi diligently treating its injuries.
Eevee remained motionless, just watching Satoshi treating it.
“Alright! There you go, you should be fine now.” After a moment, having finished treating Eevee’s injuries, he prepared to gather his things. He looked back at Eevee and realized it had already woken up.
“You’re awake? Perfect, this is for you, it will help you recover your energy.” He hadn't noticed Eevee wake up while treating it. Seeing it awake, Satoshi smiled and placed two Bluk Berries in front of Eevee.
Eevee looked up and met Satoshi's gaze, its mind involuntarily recalling the scene of Satoshi treating its injuries.
“Huh? What’s wrong? Don’t you like them?” Satoshi asked, noticing Eevee wasn’t reacting.
“Buyi~~~”
Eevee let out a low hum, shaking its head slightly before lowering its head and starting to eat the berries. Seeing this, Satoshi couldn’t help but smile.
“Satoshi, you’re really gentle.” Kasumi, beside Satoshi, couldn’t help but think to herself, gazing at Satoshi’s profile.
“Huh? Is there something on my face?” Satoshi turned his head, just in time to see Kasumi's gaze, a look of confusion on his face.
“No... nothing!” Kasumi panicked, unsure where to look. Feeling a little guilty, she lowered her head. Thankfully, the warrior’s house was dim, otherwise, everyone would have seen her blushing face.
“I took a look, all the Beedrill are gone, there shouldn’t be any problems now.” At this moment, the warrior boy walked over and said to Satoshi and Kasumi.
Thankfully, the Beedrill calmed down after the Sleep Powder, and after waking up, they simply wandered off in a daze. Otherwise, with that many Beedrill, if they wanted to attack, his small house wouldn’t be able to withstand it.
“Whew… Today was pretty nerve-wracking!” Hearing this, Kasumi breathed a sigh of relief.
First, they encountered this random boy, then came Team Rocket, followed by a horde of Beedrill, and then inexplicably, an Eevee appeared, wanting to battle Satoshi.
Honestly, ever since meeting Satoshi, she felt these past few days were more exciting than all the experiences she’d had in all these years.
“Yeah! We should probably head out too.” Glancing at the time, although they weren’t in a rush, Pikachu had mastered Iron Tail, and Caterpie had evolved into Butterfree.
They were more confident facing the Cerulean Gym, there was no need to waste time, so they thought about leaving Viridian Forest as soon as possible.
“Alright!” Kasumi didn’t object. To be honest, she was the one most eager to leave this place. However, now she didn’t have such a strong fear of Bug Pokémon anymore.
If anything, the only things that still gave her nightmares were her older sisters and Gyarados!
The warrior boy heard the two were leaving and didn’t stop them. He led them to the outside of the house. At this time, Eevee also looked at the doorway at Satoshi’s back, then followed out.
“Buyi, Buyi!!”
Walking out from behind the warrior boy, it raised its head to look at Satoshi, staring at him with a serious expression.
“Huh? What does it want? Isn’t it going to fight again?” Seeing Eevee’s serious expression, Kasumi couldn’t help but ask.
“Do you want to come with me?” Satoshi smiled, then squatted down to look at Eevee and asked.
Although Pokémon can’t speak, if you put enough effort into it, you can understand their inner thoughts.
This Eevee followed him from Pallet Town all the way here, and it even watched him and Pikachu train, learning Iron Tail on its own, even before Pikachu mastered it.
This showed the Eevee’s potential, and it even learned by watching others train. This clearly indicated its desire to become stronger. Perhaps it felt like it could become stronger by following him.
“Buyi!!” Eevee responded with a determined look in its eyes.
“Then come on!” Li You Ran smiled in response, immediately taking out a Poké Ball and extending it towards Eevee.
“Buyi!” Eevee responded, and Satoshi directly used the Poké Ball to touch Eevee’s forehead.
The Poké Ball opened, Eevee’s body instantly turned into red light, and then it was directly sucked into the Poké Ball. Satoshi held the Poké Ball in his hand, the Poké Ball shaking slightly.
Dong!!!
After a moment, the light on the button in front of the Poké Ball dispersed, and a sound rang out. The Poké Ball stopped shaking, signifying the capture was complete.
“Can you do that??” The warrior boy was full of astonishment, he had never thought of such a way to capture Pokémon.
He always thought that wild Pokémon wouldn’t be captured unless they were defeated to the point of being unable to fight. He never expected that Satoshi would capture it this way after not capturing it after defeating it.
Not only the warrior boy, but even Kasumi found it amazing.
Satoshi didn’t pay any attention to their surprise, he immediately threw out the Poké Ball, a bang, blue light shot out, and Eevee’s figure reappeared.
“I’m Satoshi, this is Kasumi and Pikachu, please take care of us, Eevee!” Satoshi looked at Eevee and extended his hand.
“Buyi!” Eevee also lifted its front paw and placed it on Satoshi's palm. At this moment, Pikachu also jumped off Satoshi’s shoulder.
“Pika!!!” Pikachu also happily cried out, seeming to welcome the new partner.
“Buyi! Buyi Buyi!!” Eevee looked at Pikachu, but its gaze was serious, and it responded a few times.
Pikachu was slightly stunned, then raised its hand, clenched its little paw, and its eyes became serious, full of fighting spirit. “Pika Pika!!”
It seems like they weren’t just companions, but also rivals. The competitive spirit, it’s not just something humans have, it’s the same with Pokémon.
