Chapter 26
The Unspoken Rules Passed Down for a Thousand Years

The Weasley twins paid the price for their arrogance.

Originally, they were only trying to intimidate, not really wanting to retaliate, they just wanted to see Wayne begging.

But, unfortunately, they were caught red-handed by Professor McGonagall, who had just arrived at the Great Hall.

She felt something was wrong when she saw her little lion standing at the Hufflepuff table.

Upon approaching and hearing what they were saying, her face turned green with anger.

They had been students for three years and were actually threatening a fresh-faced little freshman.

When Wayne told her, the twins even said that they were not afraid, even if Dumbledore knew.

Not afraid, huh?

Well, I admire your unwavering spirit.

The detention that was originally only three hours of cleaning trophies was doubled.

After cleaning the trophies, they also had to hand-copy the biographies of famous Gryffindor alumni and their stories.

When they heard the punishment, the twins nearly fainted.

Three times!

Those books combined are at least a few feet thick!

They couldn't even think about settling the score with Wayne anymore, and under the watchful eyes of Professor McGonagall, they slunk back to the Gryffindor table.

"You totally did that on purpose," Cedric said, his judgment unwavering after witnessing the entire scene.

Wayne continued to eat his sandwich and said calmly, "Everyone has to die, some people need a little help."

Cedric was speechless.

How did this guy get sorted into Hufflepuff?

Sorting Hat, are you blind!

After breakfast, Hermione stood beside Wayne, letting Norman and Toby discreetly give thumbs-up from a spot where the little witch couldn't see.

Amazing, a cute little witch is already hanging around him in his first year.

Although Hermione's hair was a little messy, her base was there, she was definitely the cutest little thing if she didn't show her teeth.

Seeing them gathered together, other freshmen curiously asked a question.

The group quickly grew, over a dozen little badgers gathered around Cedric, and he had no choice but to call some friends to help, dividing them into several groups.

A group of people marched out of the passageway and arrived at the teaching area.

"There are a total of one hundred and forty-two staircases in the entire castle, and their shape and location are constantly changing."

"Maybe sometimes you walk up a staircase from the third floor to the fourth floor, but when you step onto it, the staircase will turn around and directly send you to the top floor."

"To be honest, I didn't figure out the rules here until my second year, especially on Fridays, those staircases are like crazy."

"Even senior students who are about to graduate can sometimes get lost if they are not careful."

Cedric led Wayne and Hermione to the third floor, his two roommates followed other seniors.

"Pay attention to this staircase, when walking on it, never exert force or run, otherwise it will directly take you to the eighth floor."

"There are actually four more of these staircases, well...I can't remember exactly, maybe there are more..."

Hermione nodded vigorously, even taking out a notebook to write it down.

Wayne was a little bored.

"Cedric, are you trying to fool your brother with this? Give me some real stuff."

"What do you mean?" Cedric looked at him blankly, not understanding what Wayne was referring to.

"Give me some shortcuts, secret passages leading out of the castle."

"What are you talking about!" Cedric criticized him righteously, "How could I know something like that."

"Wayne, breaking the rules is wrong." Hermione sternly criticized Wayne's dangerous ideas.

"If you don't get caught, it's not a violation." Wayne waved his hand dismissively.

Cedric patted him on the shoulder, everything was understood.

He only gradually understood these basic school rules at the end of last semester, right after he started school.

Why is the caretaker of the school this squib, Filch?

Why, even if the teachers see their backs, as long as students are not caught face-to-face, they will not be deducted points or punished.

This is the unspoken rule of Hogwarts for a thousand years, a game of wits between teachers and students, but also a form of training.

Many people only gradually understood the subtleties after graduation, even after starting a family, thus regretting it.

After all, they had missed so much of their wonderful lives back then.

Cedric smiled, "Since you said so, watch me show you a few tricks."

He led Hermione and Wayne to an empty picture frame, tapped it three times with his wand, and the picture frame turned into a real door.

"Go through here and you'll be at the bushes near the Quidditch pitch."

"Time is limited, I won't take you there, next location."

Next, Cedric introduced two more secret passages to Wayne, one leading to the other side of the castle, which could be used to avoid Filch and his cat, Mrs. Norris, if you were caught during a night walk.

The other one is from the fifth floor to the second floor, which can be used to catch up on time.

Hermione's worldview gradually collapsed, she had thought that Cedric was the same type of person as her, a lover of learning, always the top student.

Now it seems, that's not the case at all.

"Okay, that's it for today, I have to go to the basement, my first class today is Potions."

It was almost nine o'clock, Cedric said hastily and left.

"Let's go to the second floor."

Seeing Hermione who still hadn't recovered, Wayne urged her.

Their first class today was History of Magic, which they shared with Hufflepuff and Gryffindor.

"Ah, oh." Hermione finally followed behind the boy, still couldn't help but complain:

"It shouldn't be like this, rules are there to be followed, right? Diggory is a good student, why should he..."

"This is Hogwarts." Wayne suddenly stopped and turned around.

The little witch nearly fell into his arms.

"The worldview of wizards and Muggles are ultimately very different, many things that seem outrageous to you, are actually not important in the wizarding world."

"Rules are the same." Wayne tempted Hermione like a little devil: "Do you want to follow the rules and miss out on the real Hogwarts, or do you want to improve your ability to avoid teachers and explore this thousand-year-old castle?"

Hermione was dazed and confused, her mind went blank.

She just subconsciously held Wayne's sleeve to make sure she wouldn't get lost.

They arrived at the classroom, there were already quite a few people sitting there, all with excited expressions.

Until... a ghost walked through the wall and appeared on the podium.
