Chapter 26
Gurrus's Revenge, The Death Game Begins!

“While it’s a shame, the duel ends here. We’ll settle our victory or defeat later.”

Seeing his brother kidnapped, Kaiba was in a panic. He pulled something from the Duel Disk.

The surrounding virtual images dissipated instantly.

In an emergency, the chairman had to unscrew the device to end the duel.

“I understand.”

Yugi nodded.

Gui Ping and Seto had been inseparable since childhood, their relationship was beyond words.

His brother was one of the few things more important than playing cards in Kaiba’s heart, and he couldn’t afford to lose him.

Under these circumstances, the duel couldn’t possibly continue.

It was a shame he missed out on his system reward.

Although he and Kaiba were bound to duel again in the Duel City Tournament, he didn't know how long he’d have to wait.

“Heeheehee!”

A sinister laugh came from above. Two figures in black robes appeared on the rooftop, moving like ninjas, traversing the eaves and beams, leaping over barriers, and jumping down, reaching out with hands like Assassins.

“Chairman Kaiba, nice to meet you.”

The two robed figures, one tall and one short, had their faces covered by wide hoods, making it impossible to see their features.

“You bunch of scoundrels, if you dare to harm Gui Ping, I won’t let you get away with it. Prepare to face the wrath of Kaiba Corp!”

Kaiba knew very well that these Go-Rulus were after him.

The few bodyguards present had already drawn their guns, ready to turn the opponents into sieves with a single command from the chairman.

“Oh, how scared I am. But if you attack us, there’s no telling if the rope tied around your brother will hold.”

The shorter robed figure pointed at the helicopter above. He laughed scornfully, facing the guns pointed at him.

“You…!”

Kaiba gritted his teeth, his veins bulging, his anger reaching its peak. But with his weakness in the hands of others, he didn't dare to move.

“Don’t be so angry. We’ve prepared a stage for you on the high-rise building over there. We’re waiting for you to come.”

The two robed figures, once again demonstrating their awe-inspiring lightness, flitted across the rooftops, calling back over their shoulders.

“If the two of you don’t come, you know what the consequences will be, heeheehee.”

“Damn it!”

Kaiba was about to chase after them.

“Wait, you’re not planning to go alone, are you?”

Seeing Kaiba get into the car to chase, Yugi stopped him.

“This is a matter for Kaiba Corp. It has nothing to do with you. If you want to duel with me, we can talk about it later.”

Kaiba’s brows were tightly knit. His already bad temper was even worse now that his brother was kidnapped.

“No, this does involve me. The guy said ‘you’ both, and there are two of them, so they’re probably planning a two-on-two duel. If I don’t go, how are you going to fight two of them?”

Hearing Yugi’s words, Kaiba hesitated for a moment. Although he was followed by a bunch of bodyguards, none of them could play cards.

“Besides, they’ve already included me in their plans. You want to know what my relationship is with Go-Rulus, right? I beat up one of their members last night. We’ve already had a conflict. Maybe that’s why they’re targeting me this time. But I don’t like being manipulated like this. I want to teach them a lesson and show them I’m not to be trifled with. I bet that’s what you’re thinking too.”

Yugi noticed that his system’s sudden task was to complete a duel with Kaiba.

It didn’t say they had to duel each other, and it didn’t specify victory or defeat. It said they’d get a reward as long as they fought.

So facing the enemy together with Kaiba should count.

And the fact that they included him meant that Go-Rulus’ retaliation was here.

He didn’t have a family member being held hostage, but Go-Rulus' words made it clear they were using Gui Ping to threaten Kaiba, forcing him to bring Yugi along.

Of course, the chairman wouldn’t do that, he wouldn’t force Yugi to go.

But Yugi didn’t have the habit of being provoked and not reacting.

“Hmph, if that’s the case, then come along. Don’t hold me back.”

The arrogant chairman nodded, allowing Yugi to follow.

Yugi got into Kaiba’s car.

Three black luxury cars sped away, kicking up dust.

The high-rise building chosen by the Go-Rulus was a luxury mall, glittering and opulent, with a glass facade for excellent lighting.

Yugi and Kaiba arrived at the destination, didn’t say anything, and went straight up to the rooftop in the elevator.

What met their eyes was a ceiling composed of four transparent glass panels in the center of the rooftop.

The two Go-Rulus members, one tall and one thin, stood on the transparent glass.

Without hesitation, Kaiba also walked over and stepped onto the glass, facing the robed figures.

Yugi walked beside him, also stepped onto the transparent glass, and looked down, his blood pressure rising a little.

Sure enough, the area below was empty. Standing on the glass, you could directly see the bottom level, a hundred meters down.

Watching it in the animation didn’t give you the same feeling, but standing here, actually looking down, did make your legs feel a little weak. If you fell from this height, you’d definitely be turned into a puddle of flesh.

“Heeheehee, you finally came. By the way, we haven’t introduced ourselves. I’m Go-Rulus’ assassin, Light Mask.”

The shorter robed figure looked up, revealing a half-white mask beneath his hood.

The taller one also revealed his half-black mask. “I’m Dark Mask.”

Sure enough, they were the Go-Rulus’ Masked Duo. Yugi wasn’t surprised to see them.

When he learned the destination was this high-rise building with glass on the top, he remembered the identities of his opponents.

“Hmph, who cares who you are. Where’s my brother, Gui Ping?”

Kaiba sneered, his aura still powerful even on the enemy’s territory.

“Heeheehee, don’t be so impatient. If you win, your brother will be safe and sound.”

Light Mask cackled.

“The duel will be a 2VS2, a two-on-two duel, with turns alternating. No attacks are allowed in the first round. If both members of a side lose, they are considered defeated, but be careful.”

Dark Mask pointed at the bombs in the four corners of the glass panels.

“These are bombs linked to the players' life points. Once the life points reach zero, they will detonate automatically. Hehehe, isn’t that interesting?”

Hearing this, Yugi remained calm. He just saw the two of them acting together, one fat and one thin, and there was a strong sense of deja vu.

He wanted to ask them: Have you considered going to the Deyun Society to perform crosstalk?

“Hmph, is that all you have to say? You dare to challenge me, Seto Kaiba, and you’ve taken my brother hostage. Prepare to face the wrath of my deck!”

Kaiba’s Duel Disk unfolded. He could no longer bear it and was about to crush the two of them.

“Heeheehee, if that’s the case, then let the game of death begin!”

The Masked Duo grinned and declared the duel officially open.
