Chapter 6
Death, So Close

Right now, Su Ye has the following troops:

20 units of Level 1 Goblins.

7 units of Elf Archers, including one Hero.

1 unit of Flame Dragon.

It’s starting to look like something, but the resources required are quite high.

First, food.

Su Ye only has 500 initial food. Goblins, Earth Elementals, and Elf Archers are fine; each unit only needs one food per day.

But the Flame Dragon is a real food hog!

It consumes 100 food per day, a true glutton.

With Su Ye’s current food reserves, he can only last four days at most.

In other words, he must find a food source and replenish his food reserves within four days, otherwise his troop will go into a state of inactivity.

Second, Su Ye has only 500 gold left.

This amount is too little, not enough to build more structures.

He can’t even build a wall.

Leaving a territory completely exposed to the outside world is a very foolish thing to do in the Lord Era.

“Seems like I’ll have to find those two nearby Secret Realms tomorrow morning,” Su Ye thought to himself.

It was around 2 AM, and the distant Han Nan City still had booming sounds, even gunshots.

Obviously, other monsters that have descended upon this world have already engaged in battle with humans.

Su Qian Er is also in Han Nan City, making Su Ye a little worried.

Therefore, he decided to speed up the development of his territory, striving to leave for Han Nan University within two days.

After thinking about his plans for the next few days, Su Ye stood up and looked at Eve: “It's getting late, let’s get some rest. Tomorrow, we will have battles waiting for us.”

Eve slung her longbow over her shoulder, her long black hair swaying gently in the breeze.

Two pointed ears, exclusive to elves, peeked out from under her hair, looking incredibly cute.

She glanced around, rolled her eyes: "You... don’t have any place to stay?"

Su Ye twitched the corner of his mouth, looked at his territory with only a few buildings, and felt speechless. He coughed lightly: "You know, it’s because I don’t have enough time, and I don’t have enough resources, right? Just make do for tonight. Tomorrow I’ll build houses.”

Eve snorted, seeming a bit dissatisfied, but she didn't argue with Su Ye. She led her six subordinates to a nearby empty space to settle down and rest.

Su Ye helplessly shrugged. What could he do? He was desperate!

He was given so few resources at the beginning, so of course, he had to prioritize building structures that could enhance his territory's strength!

Damn it, he hadn’t even built a wall yet, let alone houses? Tomorrow, tomorrow!

He heard puffing sounds coming from behind him, turned around and saw the Flame Dragon returning.

He wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but he felt like this guy had grown a bit after this battle.

Troop level-up is related to the number of enemies killed, it's like leveling up by slaying monsters.

If you kill a certain number of enemies, you can level up.

But obviously, for a Tier 10 troop like the Dragon, a mere three hundred monsters wasn't enough to level it up.

Seeing this guy's innocent and adorable appearance, Su Ye felt a wave of affection. He patted its head: “From now on, I’ll call you Chi Lie!”

The Flame Dragon seemed quite pleased with the name Su Ye gave it, bouncing around in place.

Chi Lie, meaning intense heat and rage, suits the Flame Dragon perfectly.

“Get some rest, tomorrow you’re coming with me to conquer the Secret Realm.”

Then, Su Ye found a spot and lay down with Chi Lie.

Han Nan City Area, this place has completely transformed into a living hell.

Roads, buildings, shopping malls, all split apart with terrifying cracks as the ground expanded.

Screams, explosions, gunshots, and the sounds of collisions kept ringing out from various corners of the city.

Goblins, Earth Elementals, and other monsters rampaged through the city, killing any human they saw.

Han Nan University, underneath the female dormitory building.

This place was utterly gruesome.

Many students who had run into the garden were killed, their heads crushed by Goblins' spiked clubs, their brains splattered.

Some venomous spiders roamed the garden, injecting venom into the already dead bodies.

Under the intense corrosion of the venom, the corpses would turn into a pool of rotten flesh and water within an hour, becoming the venomous spiders' most delicious meal.

After hours of chaos, all the surviving students had found places to hide.

But even so, they were still constantly found by roaming monsters and brutally killed.

On the sixth floor of the female dormitory.

The room where Su Qian Er was staying was pitch black, you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.

In the darkness, Su Qian Er and Lin Yan Xi hugged each other, trembling slightly.

“Qian Er, do you think we won’t die?” Lin Yan Xi said with a shiver, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Su Qian Er’s face was pale, but she was trying to be strong. She patted Lin Yan Xi's shoulder: “No, we won’t. Big brother said he’d come back to save us. We have enough food and water, as long as we stay here and don’t go out, we will definitely survive.”

As she spoke, there were a few screams from downstairs.

Apparently, several unlucky souls were found by roaming monsters and killed in a brutal manner.

The two embraced tightly, but they could feel each other's bodies trembling with fear.

They, who were living in their prime, understood for the first time that death could be so close to them.

Fortunately, thanks to Su Ye's prior warning, they had bought enough food and water. As long as they weren’t found by monsters, they should be able to hold out for a few days.

But, the other survivors might not be so lucky.

(Thanks for the support from the "With Belief" old brother!)

(Also, this book is looking for character, troop, and gameplay suggestions. If you have any ideas, old brother, you can leave a comment in the comment section. The author will consider adopting them!)

(Example: I want a troop, Tier 5 Magic Wolf Rider, attacks with claw blades...)
