Seeing Psyduck standing on the water, Misty asked in doubt, "Miss Natz, did you do this?"
"No, I just gave Psyduck the command to consume its psychic energy. It's using telekinesis to keep itself floating on the water," Natz said.
"Wow, Psyduck's eyes are glowing." Ash exclaimed, now convinced Psyduck truly had high potential.
"Should we let Psyduck stay like this?" Misty asked.
"It just completed the command I gave it before hypnosis. I tried to communicate with it just now, but it didn't follow my instructions," Natz said.
"What should we do then?"
Misty was anxious. This was one of the few ways to train Psyduck. If this method didn't work, there wouldn't be any other way to train Psyduck.
"Misty, you're Psyduck's Trainer. Give Psyduck a command," Natz said.
"Me...!" Misty was startled.
"What, is there a problem?" Natz asked.
"Well... I still don't know what moves Psyduck can use, so I don't know how to give it a command." Misty explained awkwardly.
In all the time she had Psyduck, the only time Misty had commanded it was to use Scratch, which even injured its own claws. It hadn't used any other moves.
Ash and Brock also felt a little embarrassed. As companions, they felt ashamed of their companion's weakness.
"Telekinesis," Natz said calmly, offering guidance.
"I got it." Misty nodded, pointing to a rock not far away, she immediately commanded, "Psyduck, use telekinesis on that rock over there."

Psyduck was confused, tilting its head, wondering what had happened. Wasn't it just soaking comfortably in the hot spring, how come there was so much less water in it?
"Psyduck, you were amazing just now." Seeing that Psyduck was fine, Misty immediately praised it.
"Guba?" Psyduck was dumbfounded.
It was just soaking in a hot spring. How could it be amazing? Was soaking in a hot spring an amazing thing?
"What's wrong with you? You threw that huge rock away just now." Misty reminded it.
"Guba?"
Psyduck tilted its head, completely unable to recall what Misty was talking about.
"Psyduck, you wouldn't have forgotten what you did just now, would you?" Misty asked in confusion.
"Guba?"
Psyduck was even more confused. What did I do?
"Don't ask. Psyduck just used telekinesis while under hypnosis, it doesn't remember what it did while hypnotized." Brock explained.
"Will this kind of training be effective then?" Misty questioned. Being able to use moves only while hypnotized, and forgetting everything after waking up, would this really have any training effect?
"It will definitely have some effect, but it requires long-term training. Also, your Psyduck's psychic energy is very strong, it's normally so clumsy because its head has too much psychic energy. Now when you give Psyduck a command, it should be able to follow your instructions." Brock said.
"Then Psyduck, try using telekinesis again." Misty said.

"Misty, Psyduck doesn't remember things under hypnosis, so it won't know telekinesis. You can have it do some simple skill training, like Scratch." Brock suggested.
"Okay, Psyduck, use Scratch on that tree over there." Misty commanded.

Psyduck immediately followed Misty's command, running to the land and using Scratch on the tree in front of it.

Psyduck's paw slammed against the tree trunk, leaving three shallow scratches on it. However... Psyduck immediately started crying out in pain. The paw that hit the tree was already swollen.

Brock was stunned for a moment. He remembered Misty had a Poliwrath, which she had trained from a Poliwhirl. It seemed that Misty hadn't caught a Poliwhirl yet.
"Then go catch one, or see if Ash or Brock have any Pokemon that can use Hypnosis." Brock suggested.
"None of the Pokemon I caught can use Hypnosis." Ash pondered for a moment, and suddenly said, "Brock, by the way, how many Pokemon have you caught so far?"
"Why are you asking that?" Brock questioned, weren't they discussing who had a Pokemon that could use Hypnosis, why did Ash suddenly change the topic.

"What! You've only caught 10 Pokemon?" Ash was surprised.
"Why are you surprised?" Brock didn't understand why Ash was surprised. According to the current timeline, the number of Pokemon Ash had caught didn't even reach double digits.
"I thought you'd caught a lot of Pokemon. I didn't expect it to be less than Orange and Yellow." Ash said.
