Chapter 4
Looks Like I Can't Be Human

Choi Eun Ho was caught in the intricate web of his own complicated past and chaotic life.

He couldn't help but scoff, "Is it inevitable that every conspiracy will be overheard by accident?"

Was this the clichéd plotline found in every novel?

He felt a headache coming on, and his body felt weak.

Choi Eun Ho's troubles were mounting.

The Prosecutor's Office had evidence of his bribery and power-for-sex deals, while the Seven Stars Society held him by the throat for his illegal activities, such as protecting criminals.

And at home, he had a newlywed wife who was a judge and despised the underworld with a passion.

Choi Eun Ho leaned against the wall of the corridor and knocked his forehead forcefully.

The side effects of the drugs were becoming increasingly apparent, causing his head to feel congested.

At that moment, Lee Seon Mi emerged from the office, her face pale with fear. "Senior, did you call the police?" she asked.

Choi Eun Ho replied, "Yes, another prosecutor will be here with a search warrant soon. Seon Mi, go home first. I'll handle this."

"I still need to give a statement," said Lee Seon Mi, who was quite familiar with these procedures.

But Choi Eun Ho waved her off. "No need. Take my car and go home. I'll contact you later."

He tossed her the car keys.

He didn't want her to stay at the scene.

The effects of the drug made him uneasy, and he also had many questions he needed to ask the psychologically twisted doctor.

He hadn't mentioned his suspicions about the organ trafficking to Park Jeong Won, and there was no mention of it in the information he had obtained from the black market.

He hoped to find clues among these leads that would help him turn the situation around.

Lee Seon Mi held the car keys tightly, her eyes scanning Choi Eun Ho carefully. A blush spread across her face.

She was about to say something else, but Choi Eun Ho had already turned and walked back into the office, closing the door behind him.

"I'll wait for you in the car," she called out towards the office.

Then she murmured softly, "Senior is so full of life."

She sighed softly, "What a pity."

Inside the office, Choi Eun Ho found an unused paper cup by the water cooler, filled it with several cups of ice water and drank it down. The water from this water cooler was definitely clean. Even a twisted mind needs to drink water, and he didn't need to do anything perverse to himself.

The icy liquid flowed through his body, gradually calming his nerves.

He walked over to the psychologically twisted doctor, squatted down and patted his face. The twisted psychiatrist's eyes still held a strange, unsettling gaze.

Choi Eun Ho asked, "Besides the illegal drugs, who else are you helping with organ trafficking?"

The doctor stubbornly replied, "A-ssi-ba! How did you wake up?! Si-ba! No one can do that!"

Choi Eun Ho picked up the ID badge pinned to his chest and glanced at it.

"Kim Seok Woo, right?"

He stood up and kicked him again, shouting angrily, "If you don't talk, I'll tell the Prosecutor's Office that your Chunnan Society is involved in organ trafficking. They'll naturally pry open your mouth with pliers."

Kim Seok Woo's eyes instantly filled with doubt. He replied cautiously, "You're not important enough. I need to talk to Director Jang."

Choi Eun Ho pondered for a moment and continued, "I'll have Director Jang personally speak to your chairman, but it will have to be after you're locked up."

He glanced at the time and added, "Think about it carefully. You have less than ten minutes left. The police will be here soon."

As soon as he finished speaking, he turned around casually, leaned against Kim Seok Woo's office chair, naturally resting his legs on the desk, picked up the water cup and leisurely sipped his drink.

He felt no fear. He knew that Kim Seok Woo would definitely succumb to his pressure.

Faced with two choices, Kim Hyun Bin, the gang's intellectual, couldn't possibly misunderstand the stakes involved.

Sure enough, less than two minutes later, Kim Seok Woo, lying on the floor, could no longer endure it and cried out.

"I'll tell you! I'll tell you!"

Kim Seok Woo's voice was filled with urgency. He struggled to face Choi Eun Ho.

Kim Seok Woo weighed his options: Confess to Choi Eun Ho now, admit to selling illegal drugs and accept a three to five-year sentence; or remain silent now, be tortured when he's in custody, ultimately be exposed for selling organs and attempted murder, and be sentenced to life imprisonment.

Ultimately, he decided to confess to Choi Eun Ho!

He understood that the Seven Stars Society, as a gang, also needed this business.

Kim Seok Woo cried out in a low voice, "The buyer is Seoul Paradise Hospital. The organ harvesting took place in the underground warehouse of the supermarket next to Dongcheng Police Station. I only handled the hypnosis. I don't know anything else!"

Choi Eun Ho silently memorized these two locations.

There were countless hospitals in Seoul. He couldn't possibly know them all. He would have to investigate further. He immediately asked, "Where are the surveillance tapes here?"

Kim Seok Woo replied in a subdued voice, "I... I don't have any surveillance cameras here."

Choi Eun Ho nodded. This was to be expected.

He could do things like get intimate with both men and women in the office. How could he possibly have surveillance cameras installed? Wouldn't direct video recording be clearer?

Now he knew which hospital was involved in organ trafficking, and his monthly tribute payment to Park Jeong Won was in place. The expansion of his father-in-law's territory was also arranged.

He needed to secure a path for himself in the future.

To completely sever ties with the underworld, Choi Eun Ho was determined to settle his past and erase any wrongdoing that could be used against him.

He devised a brilliant plan, portraying his actions as a period of undercover legend, adding a unique sense of glory to his resume.

This way, even if there was a chance of a retrial in the future, he would be fearless. As for his relationship with Jang An Tae, he decided to leave that for later.

The biggest challenge, and the one he needed to solve most urgently, was how to convince Park Jeong Won to agree to his "righteous severance" and stop his undercover work.

He understood that to do so, he had to find an opportunity to get back that crucial evidence.

The other option was to get rid of both Park Jeong Won and his father-in-law. That way, he could take over the Seven Stars Society seamlessly and then continue his career as a prosecutor.

He decided that since both sides had driven him to the brink, there was no need to hold back any longer.

He was prepared. He was no longer bound by the constraints of human morality.
