Chapter 4
The Wind Rises, Drenched Chicken

After a good night’s rest, the two of them set off for their destination early the next morning.

“This time we’re going to steal treasure together, you have to listen to me and don’t run around, just follow me.”

In the car, Jack cautioned Lu Hao, worried that the novice would drop the ball at a critical moment and ruin the treasure heist.

“Don’t worry, I won’t hold you back.”

Lu Hao nodded in agreement.

Jack had extensive experience in exploration and treasure hunting. Listening to him wouldn’t go wrong.

And he, the novice, could learn from the veteran.

After a short drive, they arrived at the foot of the mountain from the previous day, and they put on their backpacks and hiked up the mountain, soon reaching the summit overlooking the lake that separated them from the cave where the tribe resided.

“We’re finally here, hehe~”

Jack set down his equipment, looked at the opposite mountain with a smile, took out two pieces of chewing gum and tossed them into his mouth, only for them to hit his big nose and fall to the ground.

Lu Hao saw this and quipped, “In our hometown, chewing gum is generally eaten with your mouth, not your nose.”

“……”

His attempt to show off failed, and he was mocked by Lu Hao. Jack scratched his head, gave an awkward smile, took out two more pieces of gum, and was about to toss them into his mouth. But seeing Lu Hao staring at him intently, he gave up on the toss and stuffed the gum into his mouth to chew.

“Do you see that statue on the top of the mountain opposite? We’ll land there. Hope you don’t stray too far and land amongst the natives...”

Jack picked up a pair of binoculars and told Lu Hao about their landing point, while teasing him a bit to repay him for his earlier jab.

Lu Hao smiled faintly and retorted with a playful, “Jack, you believe my landing will be more accurate than yours?”

“That confident?”

Jack didn’t believe him, and said with a smile, “Be careful you don’t get slapped in the face later.”

“Want to have a competition? See whose landing is more accurate. The loser agrees to the winner's request without condition.”

“How about it? Dare to bet?”

Lu Hao challenged Jack with a provocative look, deliberately trying to bait him.

With his master-level paragliding skills, it was basically impossible for him to lose.

“Oh ho, I, the Asian Flying Eagle, have never been afraid of anyone, let’s bet.”

Jack clicked his tongue with a smile and readily agreed.

It was fun to have some lighthearted fun during a treasure hunt.

“Deal.”

After the agreement, they both assembled their paragliders.

Canopy, container bag, seat-type blower!!

They quickly assembled their paragliders.

Jack took out an anemometer to measure the wind speed, looked at the reading and said, “Wind speed is normal, weather is normal, visibility is good, we can take off.”

“Ready for takeoff!”

He gave Lu Hao a thumbs up.

“Let’s go!!”

They both put on their goggles, turned on the blowers on their backs, and the canopies immediately puffed up in the wind.

They started to run for takeoff. After a few steps, the huge paragliders lifted them into the air, soaring over the vast lake, aiming straight for the statue on the clearing on the opposite mountaintop.

In the air, Lu Hao controlled the paraglider and flew forward smoothly. Facing the refreshing mountain breeze, he looked around at the beautiful scenery below, the azure lake, the wooded mountains, it was a visual treat to look down from above.

“This is the beauty of exploring. You can not only enjoy the beautiful scenery around the world, but also explore various ruins and treasures. It’s a real joy of life.”

Jack laughed heartily, controlling his paraglider forward, “Lu Hao, I’m going ahead, you take your time enjoying the scenery here!!”

Whoosh~

At this moment, the once placid lake suddenly churned up, the trees swayed, and the wind roared.

Jack, who was charging forward, was blown around by the gust of wind, scrambling to stabilize his canopy.

Lu Hao, however, remained calm and dived down, his operation smooth, basically unaffected by the sudden gust.

“Jack, don’t dance in mid-air, careful you fall and go from a flying eagle to a drowned chicken.”

Looking at Jack struggling with the harness, Lu Hao left a playful remark, then sped past him in a flash, and while he was at it, did a 360-degree spin in the air in front of Jack, showing off his skills.

“……”

Jack looked silently at Lu Hao, who had passed him and was showing off, hurriedly stabilizing his canopy to fly.

They soon soared over the entire lake on the wind, maneuvering their paragliders to prepare to land.

However, due to the wind earlier, Jack's course deviated a bit from the normal trajectory, ending up landing twenty to thirty meters away from the designated landing spot.

Lu Hao, however, maneuvered his paraglider to land smoothly at the landing spot.

After taking off his paraglider, he looked at Jack, who was not far away, with a cheerful smile, “Jack, you lose.”

“I admit defeat, your flying skills are awesome, I’m impressed.”

Jack conceded with a sigh, “Tell me, what do you want? Go ahead, but I’m warning you, I won’t do anything that goes against my principles.”

“Don’t worry, I guarantee you can do it.”

Lu Hao said with a smile, “My request is simple, you take me with you on your next adventure for treasure. I remember your next trip is to find gold in the Sahara, if possible, I don’t want to miss this opportunity to make a fortune.”

“…..you little rascal, you’re latching on to me?”

Jack looked at Lu Hao with a headache, it seemed like ever since Lu Hao appeared, he had been getting the short end of the stick with him.

This kid seemed to have him figured out.

“Being able to go on an adventure for treasure with the Asian Flying Eagle, that’s my honor.”

Lu Hao chuckled, not worried in the least that Jack would go back on his word.

“We’ll talk about it next time!!”

Jack grumbled, looking up at his surroundings, “Where do we get into the cave where the natives live?”

“Follow me, there’s a rock crevice ahead that leads to the cave.”

Thanks to the detailed information provided by the system, Lu Hao knew everything about the cave where the natives lived, from the entrances to the exits, he knew them all.

He took a look at the surroundings and immediately identified the location of the crevice.

“Jack, here!”

Next to a big tree, Lu Hao brushed aside the weeds and called out to Jack. Jack came over to check, and found that there was indeed a crevice going down. He said happily, “Your information is really accurate, you must have done a lot of research, right?”

“Is this information worth a 30% share of the profits?”

“Worth it!”

Jack took off the rappel rope from his shoulder, tied one end securely to the tree, pulled it hard to make sure it was secure, and then prepared to go down.

“Don’t talk when you go down, listen to my instructions.”

After giving Lu Hao a warning, Jack immediately slid down the rope into the cave through the crevice.

Lu Hao followed closely behind, quietly sneaking into the cave where the natives had lived for generations.
