Chapter 3
Treasure Hunt in the Tribe

“This tribe is famous for producing emeralds, but they are relatively closed off and rarely interact with the outside world. It's difficult for outsiders to reach them, let alone trade gems with them.”

“As far as I know, the natives of this tribe are quite friendly to outsiders and won't attack them for no reason. However, they have one taboo, their holy water.”

“In Africa, water is sometimes more valuable than gold or gems, and this is also true for this primitive tribe. They don't care about losing their gems, but you must never touch their holy water, otherwise you will be immediately hunted down.”

Lu Hao sat on the sofa in Jack's room, meticulously recounting his knowledge of the primitive tribe. “If you want to scout the location, I can take you there anytime.”

“Anytime!?”

“Anytime!”

“Then let's go take a look now.”

“…..Jack, you really are so straightforward.”

“Likewise.”

Lu Hao shrugged his shoulders and followed Jack out the door, getting into his beloved Mitsubishi Pajero. They sped off towards the tribe's location.

The SUV drove along a muddy path. Lu Hao sat in the car, opening the window and looking at the surrounding green mountains and rivers, a feeling of inexplicable ease washing over him.

Compared to the concrete jungle, he preferred the picturesque mountains and rivers. Just looking at them made him feel refreshed.

The tribe was located in a very remote area.

They hurried along, bouncing along the rough road for half a day before finally reaching their destination.

Due to the rugged mountain terrain, the vehicle couldn't go any further, so they abandoned the car and climbed the mountain. They had to climb all the way to the top.

Jack glanced at Lu Hao, who only breathed slightly harder after climbing a long stretch of mountain road. A trace of astonishment flashed in his eyes. This kid's physique was pretty good!!

He was barely qualified to be his partner.

He didn't have high expectations for Lu Hao, all he needed was for him not to hold him back.

Standing at the top of the mountain, Lu Hao took two breaths to catch his breath. Thanks to the two body-enhancing solutions he had taken, climbing the mountain was like walking on flat ground for him, hardly any effort at all.

He looked around the mountains, pointing to the mountain range across a giant lake, saying, “That's where the tribe lives. They currently live in caves. The surrounding mountain roads are rugged and dense with forests, making it almost impossible to drive there. There are only three ways to get there: the first is to walk across the mountains, the second is to row a boat, and the third is to descend from the sky.”

“Indeed, it's a bit troublesome.”

Jack took two pieces of chewing gum out of his pocket and popped them into his mouth. Then he picked up a pair of binoculars and looked in the direction Lu Hao had pointed, estimating the terrain of the mountain range opposite. He secretly pondered his plan to steal the treasures.

He was experienced, and within a short time, he had already formulated a rough plan.

Walking was time-consuming and laborious. Rowing a boat would make it easy to bump into the tribe's scouts. The best option would be to descend from the sky, taking them by surprise. If he was lucky, he could steal the treasures and leave without alerting the natives, making a silent and swift escape.

He made his decision, put down the binoculars, and waved his hand, “I have an idea. I'll go back and buy some equipment, and we'll come over to steal the treasures tomorrow.”

Lu Hao's information was very detailed, saving him a lot of time.

Jack was very satisfied. Now, he didn't feel like he was getting the short end of the stick with the three-seven split with Lu Hao.

【Ding, new mission being issued…】

【Tribal Treasure Hunt: Explore the Moroccan primitive tribe and acquire the tribe’s gems.】

【Ding, do you accept the mission!?】

On their way back, a cold mechanical voice rang out in Lu Hao’s mind.

“That's right up my alley!”

He chuckled. His plan was to use the Asian Eagle's skills to steal treasures and make a fortune. Now, the system mission was also to steal treasures, perfectly aligning with his plans.

“Accept the mission!”

He silently murmured to himself.

【Ding, mission accepted!!】

……

“Africa is full of snakes, insects, and rodents, especially in the jungles. There are everywhere, and you could easily be bitten by one. If you can't treat it in time, it could be life-threatening.”

“So when you’re exploring here, insect repellent, realgar wine, and other snake and insect repellents are essential items to bring along.”

“Not only that, but we also need to carry some small commodities, such as salt, sugar, and some small glowing objects. When we encounter the natives during our exploration, we can give them these as gifts to lessen their hostility.”

Jack took Lu Hao to the market to buy supplies. He held a list and went into drugstores and grocery stores to buy medicine and goods, giving Lu Hao some African exploration tips along the way.

Lu Hao pondered this, even though he was a seasoned backpacker, he was still ignorant of some of the common sense of African exploration.

This round of knowledge-sharing from Jack opened his eyes.

“I forgot to ask, do you know how to use a paraglider?”

Jack packed up the small items and abruptly looked at Lu Hao with an inquisitive gaze. He planned to fly over from the sky, and if Lu Hao didn’t know how to use a paraglider, he’d have to let him stand outside and wait for him, which he was confident he could do himself.

“Look at this.”

Lu Hao reached for his waist and pulled out a pilot's license. “I wonder if this certificate can prove my paragliding skills!?”

“A paragliding pilot license? And the highest level one at that?”

Jack’s eyes gleamed. He discerned the authenticity of the license and then looked at Lu Hao with a hint of admiration. “You're pretty good, kid. You were able to get this level of license at such a young age.”

“Just so-so. I’m only ranked third in the world.”

Lu Hao chuckled.

“But even though you have a license, I still need to see your practical skills.”

Just to be safe, Jack took Lu Hao to a local paragliding club in Rabat for some practical drills.

Only after seeing Lu Hao glide smoothly through the air did he feel relieved.

“Alright, let's go buy things.”

In addition to the small items, they also needed to buy a paraglider, a wind speed meter, and escape gear like smoke bombs and bouncy balls.

It was a lot of trouble.

However, this was nothing to Jack, who was a seasoned explorer. He was seen dashing through various stores, pulling out stacks of money, skillfully buying all sorts of equipment.

Lu Hao followed behind him, silently absorbing all sorts of useful knowledge, so that he could use it when he went on his own expeditions in the future.

“Get some rest early tonight. We’ll leave first thing in the morning.”

“Jack, see you tomorrow. Hopefully you won’t sneak off to steal treasures on your own tonight.”

“……”

Jack laughed in frustration. Why did this kid have to be so sarcastic!?
