Chapter 28
Respawn Point

Although she clicked "Restart Game", things were different this time. Instead of immediately entering the game, Otililia saw a series of options.

【Respawn Point Detected】

【You can choose where you want to respawn. Please select a respawn point.】

【Restart Game】【New World Landing Point】

"Whew, the game developers finally figured out respawn points. Finally, I don't have to start from the very beginning..." Otililia sighed in relief. She didn't mind starting over from the beginning, as she felt there was more to explore on the ship, maybe even hidden quests!

From what she'd seen so far, this game had a lot of freedom. Otililia felt that there wasn't just one way to escape, there were probably other possibilities.

But, since there was a new respawn point, Otililia didn't intend to try to dig up hidden plots. Getting back into the game was the priority!

Otililia guessed she was still in the "Prologue" stage. The prologue was mainly about introducing players to the game world.

There was no doubt that from the initial kill at the start, to being unarmed against giant monsters in the New World, this was a very "hardcore" game. The appearance of the massive, possible final boss, the Ancient Dragon, told players this was likely a game about hunting giant monsters. The scene in the forest told players that the monsters were powerful, the hunters were weak, this was truly a super "hardcore" game!

It was just a matter of how the combat system worked.

Otililia knew that the real start of the game would be reaching the base and getting weapons.

She was already a little impatient!

"From the New World Landing Point!" Otililia chose the second option without hesitation.

Endless mist enveloped Otililia, and when she regained consciousness, she found herself in a forest. This was where she had landed before!

"Ugh—the coast, where is it..." Otililia looked around, tall trees surrounded her, she couldn't tell east from west.

"Damn, I was so focused on exploring the forest, I have no idea which way to go!" Otililia lamented, "This hardcore game, it doesn't even give you a map of the places you've been? Do we have to draw maps by hand?"

After thinking for a moment, Otililia decided to continue along the path she had walked before.

After a while, Otililia finally found the familiar riverbed. The fierce Direwolves that had chased her were also there, more than one, and they were gathered together eating a dead animal. It looked like they were almost finished.

"You guys eat your fill, I'm just passing by...don't look at me..." Otililia crawled, moving cautiously, trying not to make a sound.

Suddenly, several Direwolves howled loudly.

Otililia was startled, thinking she had been discovered. However, she noticed the Direwolves were howling towards the depths of the forest, not her direction.

Then, she saw a giant monster crawling towards the Direwolves.

It was the giant yellow monster that had killed her!

Otililia almost gasped, but she quickly covered her mouth.

"Could it be the big monster and the small monsters are going to fight? Hurry up and fight!" Otililia thought.

But, even more shocking happened. The Direwolves saw the giant monster coming and seemed very happy. Otililia could even hear their joy in their howls, completely different from the sounds they had made when facing her!

Then, the big Direwolf suddenly stood up. Its belly was very large, as if it were holding something.

The big Direwolf howled, then spat out an animal. The little monsters became even more excited, howled a few times, and ran to eat the beast that the big monster had spit out.

"This is...feeding?" Otililia was surprised, "So, this big monster is the mother of these little monsters—no wonder they look so similar... but, how can these little monsters grow so big... that's not scientific!"

The big Direwolf saw its babies eating the food and howled once, then left.

"Okay, now's my chance, move..."

Otililia continued to move stealthily.

With some luck, Otililia reached the edge of a cliff. She had used this cliff to escape from the small monsters before.

She wanted to jump down again, but upon closer inspection, she noticed a lot of vines on the cliff edge, perfect for climbing.

"These vines... don't seem like they grow naturally. Someone must have intentionally arranged them like this..." Otililia said, her eyes lighting up, she felt the base was not far away.

"The smell of the coast, it's a bit like the smell near school..." Otililia took a deep breath, then ran towards the shore. Then, she saw something important.

"That's... a red balloon! That must be the guiding balloon, the base must be over there!"

Otililia said excitedly, then ran towards the balloon.

Then...

"Ugh! Big Yellow! Why are you here again? I'm running!" The destination was right in front of her, but the big Direwolf was here to cause trouble again. Otililia couldn't help but complain about the Direwolf, then started running again.

She only had a small knife, it wouldn't even cut through a monster's hide, and she was sure one claw could send her flying. What else could she do besides run?!

But the Direwolf seemed to be much faster than her. In no time, it caught up to Otililia.

"Help! ————"
