Under Green Rabbit's pitiful gaze, Makino finally snapped out of it.
“Green Rabbit, please wait!”
Makino, having recovered, was still gentle. She gave Green Rabbit a gentle smile and patted his head before rushing into the kitchen.
Though Red Rabbit was the only one who fought with Garp last night, she had still seen Green Rabbit and Bait on Xia Yu’s ship.
Now that three of Xia Yu’s companions had suddenly appeared at her house, she, being kind, naturally treated them all equally.
Outside the kitchen.
Xia Yu didn’t immediately follow in but instead stared at Luffy, who had been sent flying by Red Rabbit’s punch.
“Ahaha…”
Luffy, caught off guard, didn’t get angry. He quickly got up and chuckled, “Xia Yu, your companions are so interesting!”
Before he finished speaking, he suddenly stretched his arm, grabbed the big tree behind Xia Yu, and then bounced over using his Rubber-Rubber Fruit ability, landing steadily beside Xia Yu. He exclaimed excitedly, “Can you introduce me to them?”
“Of course.”
Seeing Luffy didn’t take being knocked away to heart, Xia Yu smiled slightly and said, “But you have to be careful. They have certain “scales” you can’t touch. Like Big Red who just sent you flying, you absolutely cannot dirty his canvas shoes! Otherwise, you’ll end up like your grandpa, chased around by Big Red!”
“Don’t worry, hahaha, I have something very precious too!”
Luffy laughed loudly and pointed to the straw hat on his head, “This is what I cherish most, Shanks gave it to me!”
“Let’s go, have breakfast!”
Xia Yu didn’t say anything more, and got up to go out.
When he walked into the dining room, Bait, with a scarf around his neck, had already finished his meal and was sitting at the table with a steady posture, looking very much like a Godfather.
Red Rabbit had also devoured his bowl of ramen and was now sitting with his legs crossed, reading a newspaper with gusto, ignoring Xia Yu and Luffy’s arrival.
Green Rabbit was eating extremely cautiously, stealing glances at Red Rabbit and Bait every now and then, seemingly worried about disturbing the two bigwigs!
“Mr. Xia Yu, Luffy, you’ll have to wait a bit longer!”
Seeing Xia Yu and Luffy enter, Makino, who was tidying up the table, continued to smile as always, like a virtuous wife and mother, “Red Rabbit, Green Rabbit and…Doggo all really like the food I make!”
“Thanks for your hard work!”
Xia Yu sat down at the table, inexplicably feeling like a prodigal son returning home.
Luffy, without any hesitation, walked to Red Rabbit and greeted him politely, “You’re Big Red, right? I’m Monkey D. Luffy, nice to meet you!”
Hearing this, Red Rabbit lowered his newspaper and looked at Luffy with an idiotic expression.
After a few seconds, he looked back down at his newspaper.
“Huh?”
Unexpectedly, Red Rabbit only glanced at him and ignored him. Luffy blinked in confusion, then turned to Bait, “Doggo, nice to meet you. I’m…”
Before Luffy could finish, Bait simply jumped off the chair and left without looking back.
Luffy, again getting the cold shoulder, wasn’t embarrassed. He shifted his gaze to Green Rabbit and said tentatively, “Hello, Green Rabbit…”
Unlike Bait’s coldness and Red Rabbit’s domineering, Green Rabbit immediately looked up, with a few noodles still hanging from his mouth, and nodded vigorously.
Unexpectedly, Green Rabbit actually responded to him, Luffy felt a sense of relief and immediately became familiar, sitting down next to Green Rabbit.
Just then, Makino walked out of the kitchen carrying two bowls of steaming hot ramen.
Before Makino reached the table, Luffy suddenly stretched his arm and snatched one of the bowls.
This sudden action caused Green Rabbit’s eyes to nearly pop out.
Then, he looked at Luffy with the eyes of a monster and even tried to reach out to pinch Luffy’s stretchy arms.
Finding that Luffy’s arm was actually very elastic, Green Rabbit’s eyes widened in shock again.
“Ahaha, Green Rabbit, stop pinching me!”
Luffy, pinched by Green Rabbit, couldn’t help but laugh out loud and almost dropped the bowl.
Green Rabbit didn’t stop, he directly pulled Luffy’s arm skin like a rubber band, excitedly looking at Red Rabbit opposite him, “Amazing!”
Red Rabbit’s attention was also drawn at this moment, and upon seeing Luffy’s arm pulled into a rubber band by Green Rabbit, a look of surprise appeared in his eyes for the first time.
“It’s fun, right, hehe…”
Luffy didn’t care about Green Rabbit’s rudeness, he put the bowl in front of him, showing his signature smile, “After we eat, I’ll take you to the back mountain to play!”
Green Rabbit nodded vigorously, eyes filled with eagerness.
Seeing the harmonious scene of Green Rabbit and Luffy, Makino couldn’t help but smile. She put the other bowl of ramen in front of Xia Yu and said softly, “Mr. Xia Yu, enjoy.”
“Thanks!”
Just as Xia Yu picked up his chopsticks, he thought of something and asked tentatively, “Makino, does Windmill Village sell fishing gear? I want to go fishing by the sea after we eat!”
“I have some at home!” Makino smiled and nodded, “If you want to go fishing, Makino can take you!”
Hearing this, Xia Yu’s eyes lit up. He had been secretly taken fishing by his dad since he was a kid, though his dad took him along to try to appease his mom’s wrath. Yet, he had fallen in love with fishing and was considered a semi-professional fisherman!
However, ever since entering high school, he had no time and his dad had stopped taking him. After finally finishing the college entrance exam and achieving a decent score, he was ready to fully experience his dad’s joy, but inexplicably, he was transported to the world of One Piece.
At first, he tried to make the system kill him, to see if he could go back, but the system didn’t follow the script.
Not only did it not kill him for ignoring the system’s tasks, it even reflected on itself, transforming from the original God-Level Selection System into a giving system, now it had even upgraded to a “lick-boot” system, calling him “Father” and “Daddy”, all sorts of abilities and items were given to him in various ways, it was ridiculous!
This means that it’s highly unlikely he can go back to his original world, at least not for now!
Unable to go back and with a lick-boot system, he naturally had to enjoy this trip through time.
Stay in Windmill Village for a while, go fishing during the day, go to the tavern and talk about travel experiences (made up) in the evening. It's more fun to share joy with others. When it gets boring, just change location and posture!
In short, do whatever makes you happy!
As for Red Rabbit, Green Rabbit and Bait, as long as no one comes to make trouble, no one touches Red Rabbit’s canvas shoes, they won’t go out of their way to provoke trouble.
This is indeed the correct way to open up the world of time travel!
