Chapter 34
The Beginning of Simo's Explosively Talented Career

“Clean as a whistle!”

The moment he left the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, Ethan cast a Cleaning Charm on himself.

After spending so long in a room full of garlic, he was practically marinated.

This charm not only cleansed the surface but also removed the lingering smell.

After giving a few roommates and familiar young witches a blast, Ethan backed off. It was now break time. Whether it was rushing back to the dormitory to change clothes or finding senior students to cast spells, it was all doable.

Next was Charms, on the third floor of Hogwarts.

Upon entering the Charms classroom, the first thing that caught his eye was the stack of books near the window at the front, arranged in a staircase-like fashion.

As for the reason, those who understand, understand.

This lesson was on the Lumos charm.

After explaining and introducing it for a while from the lectern, Professor Flitwick let the young witches practice on their own.

This was the most basic charm. It could be said that even Muggles could pick it up quickly.

Those who wanted to experiment with magic after getting the textbooks often chose Lumos as their first option.

With the intermittent ‘Lumos flickers’, the classroom looked like it was dotted with lamps of varying brightness. Some even flickered, as if the voltage was unstable.

Of course, there were also some who had no reaction at all. After all, not every young witch would have looked at the textbook beforehand, or perhaps they had a talent for it.

Faced with this situation, Professor Flitwick couldn't give bonus points. Would he give bonus points to all four houses?

After all, even Hufflepuff had students who succeeded in a single attempt, with Ravenclaw having the most.

This gave Professor Flitwick a bit of face.

“Think about what I just said, don’t panic, stay calm…”

Professor Flitwick ran back and forth on his short legs, reminding each of the young witches.

Thanks to his reminders, more and more young witches were able to successfully cast the Lumos charm.

Ethan finally understood why Professor Flitwick had such a good reputation at Hogwarts. He was dedicated, responsible, and patient. He wasn't like Professor McGonagall, who was cold-faced, nor like Professor Snape, who acted like everyone owed him money.

“You need to pronounce the spell correctly, clearly, and don’t panic, try again!”

Ethan saw Professor Flitwick stop in front of a Gryffindor young witch. He took a closer look and realized it was Seamus.

Ethan immediately felt a bad feeling. If this guy had a stat panel, he would definitely see his talent ‘Explosion Mastery’, which meant there was a chance of his magic exploding whenever he cast a spell, and the power of the Exploding Charm would be increased.

“Lumos!”

Seamus took a deep breath, holding his wand high, as if he was holding a staff.

“It’s… it’s lit!”

Neville, sitting in front of Seamus, shouted excitedly. The two of them had been the ones who had no reaction at all.

Now that Seamus had succeeded, would he be next?

“Don’t get too excited, control your magic, put more effort into it!”

Professor Flitwick saw that the light was about to go out, so he immediately reminded him.

Seamus nodded seriously, and the wand in his hand raised slightly. In an instant, the light on his wand was rapidly becoming brighter, visible to the naked eye.

If it had been a 5-watt bulb before, it was now at least 80 watts.

Ethan instantly felt that something was wrong.

“Close your eyes!”

He shouted a reminder to the young eagles around him. He immediately closed his eyes, turned around, and ducked down in one motion.

Just after Ethan made his move, a blinding light engulfed the entire classroom, and a shattering roar echoed through the room.

This sudden explosion, with its noise and flash, may not have lasted long, but its effect was truly remarkable. At least now the entire classroom was in a state of chaos, with young witches screaming and pushing each other.

When Professor Flitwick was teaching Seamus, many students were watching their situation, hoping to learn some experience. As a result, when the strong light erupted, they were directly blinded.

The other young witches were better off, but they felt uncomfortable in the strong light and explosion, their eyes and ears stinging.

At the center of the explosion, a few Gryffindor young witches had black faces and hair that curled up as if it had been burnt by fire.

Fortunately, Professor Flitwick, due to his height, could only stand under the table and was not affected by the explosion, but he was blinded by the strong light and his ears were temporarily deaf.

“What happened?”

Terry, his vision somewhat blurry, was filled with bewilderment. He didn't know what had happened. He was just chatting with Jean, and when he heard Ethan shout "close your eyes", he saw Jean closing his eyes, so he quickly followed suit.

“Seamus Finnigan's magic blew up.”

Ethan explained helplessly. This was a low-grade version of a flashbang.

If the noise was even more piercing and the flash stronger, it would be more authentic. After all, flashbangs not only flash people's eyes but also knock them unconscious.

“Everyone stay in your seats, don’t panic, it will recover soon.”

Professor Flitwick used magic to levitate himself, then used the Sonorous Charm to project his voice loudly throughout the classroom. He knew what would happen if there was chaos with everyone blind.

He had already had a teaching accident, he couldn’t let this accident expand further.

As a champion of duels, he had really lost face this time. He hadn’t reacted in time, he really was getting old.

Ethan could clearly see Professor Flitwick closing his eyes tightly, with two lines of tears flowing down his cheeks. It was clear that he wasn’t feeling well.

Seeing this, Ethan could only try to comfort the terrified students with those students who had listened to him and some lucky ones. He pressed those running around back into their seats and helped those who had fallen.

Gryffindor and Hufflepuff were the worst affected. Cassandra was fine, Hermione buried her head on the table, she was obviously hit.

After about ten minutes, the after-effects of the super-strong Lumos charm gradually subsided, and everyone regained some vision.

After such an accident, Professor Flitwick naturally couldn't continue teaching. He could only let the students rest.

He also deeply remembered the name Seamus Finnigan.

Only Ethan knew that this was just the beginning of Seamus's explosive career. During the Battle of Hogwarts, when the Death Eaters invaded, Neville was going to blow up the bridge and Professor McGonagall asked him to discuss it with Seamus Finnigan.

This shows how many explosions Seamus had caused during his seven years at Hogwarts and the deep impression he had left on these professors.
