“We’re going to check out the corridor on the fourth floor, on the right side. There’s definitely something there. Are you with us, Ethan?”
After chatting for a while, George got down to business.
They didn’t go out for a night stroll every day. Today, they couldn’t resist the temptation of Dumbledore’s words from yesterday.
It was like Roger’s last words before he died, ‘You want my treasure? You can have it all, go find it! I’ve left all my treasure there!’ had the same attraction to pirates.
Dumbledore's words had the same effect on these Gryffindor lions, who prided themselves on their adventurous spirit.
“No, my goal is the eighth floor!”
Ethan didn’t have anything to hide. They could clearly see their location with the Marauder’s Map.
Although the Room of Requirement wasn’t on it, and people who entered the Room of Requirement wouldn’t be displayed on the Marauder’s Map, he could still see where he last disappeared.
“Eighth floor? The room opposite the tapestry of the Giant bashing Barnabus?”
George asked in surprise. Apart from the Headmaster’s office, that was the only thing he could think of on the eighth floor.
It wasn’t easy to find that room. They’d only seen Dumbledore disappear in front of that wall on the Marauder’s Map, and some house-elves had also disappeared there and suddenly reappeared. They were curious about it, and that's how they found it.
“Yeah, that’s the place. Do you know?”
Ethan was surprised. The twins knew?
In the original story, it seemed like Dobby told Harry. He worked at Hogwarts and heard it from other house-elves. He didn't expect it to be discovered so early.
“We use that as our research base. How did you know, Ethan?”
The twins exchanged glances. Their secret base had been discovered. They thought no young wizards would know about this place.
This room was just so useful. Whether they wanted to brew potions or practice alchemy, it provided a place. The only thing they regretted was that it couldn’t directly provide Galleons.
“I found it in an old textbook filled with notes. It mentioned a room like that.”
The excuse came naturally. After all, the Room of Requirement was a semi-public secret at Hogwarts. Over the past thousand years, there were quite a few students who knew about it.
“The room opposite the Giant bashing Barnabus tapestry. Just focus your mind on what you need, and walk through that wall three times. A smooth door will appear on the wall, and you can go in.”
Since Ethan knew, the twins didn’t hide it anymore and told him how to get in.
“Alright, understood!”
Ethan nodded in confirmation.
“Are you coming with us to the fourth floor corridor now, or are you going straight to the eighth floor?”
Leaving the abandoned classroom, Fred asked.
“Dumbledore did say that there might be life-threatening danger there.”
The Mirror of Erised should still be in Dumbledore's office, and the Philosopher's Stone shouldn’t be there either, but Fluffy should be.
Fluffy. This thing was a XXXXX level dangerous magical creature. Most adult wizards would be nothing but snacks in front of it, and underage wizards would be going to deliver food. Was Dumbledore really not afraid of something happening?
Ethan didn’t know what level Fluffy was at in the XXXXX level, but it took a hundred adult wizards to subdue a Venomous Tentacula. Even if Fluffy was a bit weaker, it would still take at least a dozen adult wizards to take it down!
In the original story, Snape got bitten on the leg. Maybe he didn't want to kill Fluffy, or he was careless and got attacked by Fluffy. But you could still see that it was not something to mess with.
Fred countered, "I don't think Dumbledore would really allow something with life-threatening danger to exist in Hogwarts. It's probably just difficulties in the adventure."
George agreed, “That’s right. We’ve been to the Forbidden Forest a few times, but we haven't encountered any danger.”
It seemed that since the Weasley twins entered Hogwarts, Hagrid had been very troubled.
Their death-defying spirit was truly awesome. There were definitely many dangerous creatures in the Forbidden Forest, including several XXXXX level ones. Especially after Hagrid moved in, the fact that they didn’t end up as a pile of crumbs was simply good luck.
“I’ll go with you. I’m quite curious too.”
At this point, if he didn’t go, he’d be the one crying.
Following behind George and Fred, they knew this Hogwarts better.
They soon reached the right side of the fourth floor. After a little searching, Fred confirmed that the locked door was behind the place Dumbledore mentioned.
“This is the place. Alohomora!”
George picked up his wand and cast an unlocking spell. There was no lock he dared not open in the whole of Hogwarts.
Ethan watched from the side, his eyelids twitching. He reminded them, “Wait a minute, go in slowly, be careful, it’s always right to be cautious.”
George turned around and spread his hands, “Ethan, are you being cautious?”
Then he went in first, with Fred close behind. He was really reckless. Could it be that he was just a Gryffindor?
As soon as Ethan entered, he saw that George and Fred in front of him had stopped, their bodies trembling slightly.
He tilted his head and saw a three-headed dog lying on the ground, sleeping. Drool was dripping from all three heads.
Just like in the movie, it was utterly ugly. It didn’t have the aura of a Cerberus from the legends at all. Ethan suspected that it was a crossbreed of a Cerberus and a Cane Corso. The dog’s head was too much like a Cane Corso.
Fred was shivering in fear, and said softly, “This is Fluffy. I didn’t expect it to be here.”
“You know it?”
“I know it, but it shouldn’t know me!”
As he spoke, Fred motioned for everyone to go out quickly.
Because the three-headed dog had already started to lift its head. It was clear that Ethan and the others had startled it.
The two brothers, who had ventured into the Forbidden Forest many times, had seen this big guy before, but only seen it. Fluffy hadn’t been so big back then, and it had been following Hagrid.
Later, Hagrid had asked them to keep it a secret. To do so, he even took them for a walk around the outer edge of the Forbidden Forest.
“Ethan, you go out first!”
George took out his wand and motioned for Ethan to go first. They were after all, third-year seniors, they should be able to resist it somewhat.
Because in just a short moment, the three-headed dog had fully risen, at least four meters tall, its head touching the ceiling. All three mouths were open wide, drooling. Its whole body was tense, clearly ready to pounce.
