Chapter 23
Who Could Resist This?

The next day, just past seven, Ethan woke up from his sleep early; this had become a habit.

Taking out the schedule that was sent along with his luggage yesterday, Ethan found that Hogwarts' schedule was quite relaxed.

Charms, Transfiguration, Potions, Herbology, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Flying, History of Magic, and Astronomy - these eight courses, among which Flying, History of Magic, and Astronomy are all held once a week, the rest are twice a week.

Each class is one hour long, with a half-hour break in between, except for Potions, which is two consecutive classes; other courses are separate.

Classes are from 9:00 am to 11:30 am in the morning and 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm in the afternoon, with Astronomy on Wednesday night.

All four houses take classes together, with a total of only seventy or so freshmen; a classroom can accommodate all of them.

Besides, if they were to separate, each subject would only have one professor, but they would have to teach seven grades, and they would also have to split into fourteen classes in two batches. Many professors also have other duties, such as Head of House; as Head of House, they would have to deal with some matters of their own house, and when teaching, they would also have to prepare lessons, grade homework, and prepare exams.

By this calculation, would the professors still be alive? Even cattle and horses shouldn't be used like this.

This morning there was only one Transfiguration class, starting at nine; it was still early.

The other three were still asleep; Ethan didn't wake them up, washed up, and left the dormitory.

"Good morning, Senior!"

Coming to the common room, Ethan saw Penelope at a glance; of course, besides her, there were also a few seniors in the room, each holding a book and flipping through it.

They were all truly diligent.

"Morning, Ethan, are you comfortable living in Ravenclaw's dormitory?"

Penelope looked up and greeted Ethan with a smile.

"It feels okay; I'm not picky about beds."

Ethan sat down directly next to Penelope, and then saw the book in her hand, "Standard Book of Spells, Grade 5."

"It's seven thirty, let's go; I'll take you to breakfast."

Penelope stood up and stretched, revealing a perfect curve; this sixteen-year-old development is really good, not lacking in nutrition.

"Senior, you got up early to read?"

Following behind Penelope, Ethan asked curiously.

"I got up at six to read; it's not that early."

She then added: "This year we'll have O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. exams; I still want to get an O in all subjects, I can't be lazy."

"With Senior's abilities, you should be fine!"

Being able to be a prefect is enough to prove her excellence, especially a Ravenclaw prefect; mere exams are absolutely no challenge to them.

O.W.L. and N.E.W.T. exams are Ordinary Wizarding Level and N.E.W.T. (Nascent Erudite Wizarding Test) exams, respectively, which are taken in fifth grade and directly relate to the study of subsequent courses.

In seventh grade, there is also the N.E.W.T. exam, which is the Advanced Wizarding Level exam; this exam's score directly affects the development after graduation; only those who get high scores can become core members of the Ministry of Magic.

"It's not really that hard, but forget it; let's not talk about it!"

Penelope said with lost interest; if it was just the exams, she would definitely be among the top in her class, but when it comes to other aspects, she would be unable to.

So she could only try her best to improve her evaluation, to add more opportunities for her after graduation.

Ethan also knew what she was talking about, but it would be best to pretend not to know at this moment.

The caste system in the wizarding world is really too serious, much more serious than that of Muggles.

Before long, the two arrived at the Great Hall; whether it was for meetings, meals, or celebrations, everyone came to this hall.

Breakfast was just so-so, not as rich as last night's; milk, oatmeal, boiled potatoes, bread, ham, eggs, bacon, help yourself.

"There are 142 staircases in Hogwarts, some of them will change; for example, you only want to go to the third floor, but as you walk you reach the fifth floor; new wizarding students, because of this problem, the phenomenon of being late is commonplace."

"It's still early; I'll take you for a walk?"

After wiping her mouth gracefully, Penelope said to Ethan.

"Okay, then thank you Senior!"

Ethan certainly wouldn't refuse such a good thing.

After all, once you are familiar with the roads of Hogwarts, it would be convenient to roam around at night.

There is no such thing as a free lunch in this world; Penelope was so enthusiastic because of Ethan's Hatstall, she wanted to make as many connections as possible, but in the process of interacting with Ethan, she found that Ethan not only had handsome looks, but also spoke nicely and was quite pleasant to get along with; he was just a little younger, so she also had a little more sincerity, treating him as a friend.

In this world, there were three Hatstalls; the dead Peter Pettigrew got the Order of Merlin, First Class, the remaining two were even more incredible, one was Professor McGonagall and the other was Professor Flitwick. (Some information says that Flitwick was also a Hatstall, he couldn't decide between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, and finally went to Ravenclaw, which was the opposite of Professor McGonagall.)

Ethan, with the same talent, might also reach their level, a professor of a house; their position in the wizarding world is quite high, which graduate of this house would not give them some face?

And the reason why Penelope was so enthusiastic was also because of a bad precedent before.

Penelope, as a Muggle-born witch, had a very caring senior when she entered the school, who was also Muggle-born; two years ago after graduation, she was rejected many times in the interviews for the Ministry of Magic, and large magical industries were also unwilling to accept her; eventually, she worked as a temporary worker in Hogsmeade for three months, and then chose to leave the wizarding world.

During the summer holidays this year, Penelope also went to visit this senior and found that she was not living well in the Muggle world either; she had become a cashier in a bakery.

Now she's almost twenty; she didn't even finish junior high, she doesn't have a skill, she can't use magic, she can't find a good job at all, but she has adapted to Muggle life and is dating someone.

But Penelope didn't want to go back to the Muggle world like her senior, she wanted to change her fate.

"Don't walk against the wall on this staircase, otherwise the floor it reaches will be completely random."

"And this, you can't run on the stairs, if you run, it will be misaligned, sometimes it will even leave a gap for you to fall."

"Okay, that's all about these moving staircases, have you memorized them?"

"I have, thank you Senior."

Ethan's memory is now so good that it's not an exaggeration to say that he can remember things at a glance; remembering the rules of these staircases is no pressure at all.

"Okay, it's almost time for class; I have to go to the Charms classroom now."

Looking at the figure of the Senior who left in a hurry, Ethan turned and went to the Transfiguration classroom.

Penelope, as a prefect, although it was her responsibility to take care of freshmen, there was no need to go to this extent.

Ethan knew the reason for this, but he didn't dislike it either; there is a reward for every effort, she was just investing early.

Besides, a big wave senior's initiative, who could resist it?
