Following Dennis and the others' instructions, Ethan arrived in front of their most important asset, and their only asset.
A small, brown suitcase, looking no different from a Muggle suitcase.
At Ethan's gesture, Dennis and the others opened the suitcase and crawled in with Kipling's body.
After making sure nothing unexpected happened, Ethan entered.
The space was indeed large enough; using a football field as a unit of measurement, it was about the size of three football fields.
It was a bit rudimentary though, with only a small pond, a few large iron cages, a square house made of stone, and the rest was all dirt floor.
Led by Dennis, they came to the stone house. When Ethan saw what was inside, his expression immediately changed.
Inside were all creatures similar to rats, not large in size, but each rat had a sea anemone-like tumor on its back, giving a sense of discomfort. And there were a lot of them.
At first glance, Ethan knew what they were. From the book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," a native British magical creature: Mottled Rat.
Classified by the Ministry of Magic as: XX.
The tumors on the backs of Mottled Rats were also valuable. After being pickled and eaten, they could strengthen resistance to jinxes and bad luck for a period of time.
Magical creatures are classified into five levels by the Ministry of Magic.
X, is troublesome.
XX, harmless or can be tamed.
XXX, can be handled by a competent wizard.
XXXX, dangerous, requiring specialized knowledge and skill for a wizard to handle.
XXXXX, known to have killed wizards, impossible to tame or domesticate (Newt: You’re full of shit).
"Why are you raising so many Mottled Rats?"
Ethan asked curiously. Although the tumors on their backs had some value, the price was not high.
Because they reproduced quickly in large numbers, they were abundant in their native area, not even worth mentioning in terms of price.
"These Mottled Rats will die soon after their back tumors are removed. While they are still alive, they can be used as food for other animals. Some magical creatures only eat live food."
That was a damn good idea!
Mottled Rats reproduce quickly and are omnivores, eating anything. Cutting off the tumor on their back, the tumor can be sold, and the rat, which can no longer live, can be directly used as feed, completing the process of waste utilization.
Leaving the stone house, which was the Mottled Rat breeding farm.
In sight were huge iron cages, no, one was different. It looked like it was completely enclosed in plastic, but what material it was made of was unknown.
A black mess was spread on the ground inside, looking like discarded garbage.
"What is this?"
Ethan found that he didn't recognize this thing.
"This is a Kneazle, but it's not in good shape. We haven't found a suitable buyer, and we don't know the Patronus Charm. We can only keep it like this. It seems like it's going to starve to death.
Dennis explained quietly. They dared not leave Diagon Alley, so naturally they dared not do business in those wizard pubs either. There was no way anyone would buy a Kneazle in Diagon Alley, and without the Patronus Charm, who would want this thing.
Forgive Ethan's lack of knowledge, the Kneazle, this kind of magical creature, did not appear in the movies, and this black mess on the ground, it didn't look like a cloak!
However, it was going to starve to death, and Ethan couldn't do anything about it. He didn't know the Patronus Charm and didn't dare open the cage.
"This is a Swooping Evil, but this one hasn't reached adulthood yet."
Dennis, who led Ethan to the next cage, took the initiative to introduce him.
Before the incident, a member of the Flee family was interested in this Swooping Evil, but they couldn't agree on the price when they were about to make a deal.
Swooping Evil, Ethan knew this one. It was like a combination of a butterfly and a bat, blue-green all over, likes to eat brains, its venom is very dangerous, but diluted, it can erase memory.
It has to be said, the Swooping Evil looked quite beautiful.
This one hasn't reached adulthood yet, maybe it could still be tamed. As for the Ministry of Magic saying it's a XXXXX level and can't be tamed, just take it as a fart.
"Get some food for the Swooping Evil."
Ethan wanted to feed it himself to see if he could develop some feelings.
Following Ethan's order, Dennis went to the edge of the Mottled Rat breeding farm, skillfully summoning the Mottled Rats with the Accio Charm, then cut off the tumors on their backs with a spell, the whole process was done in one go.
After dealing with more than ten of them, Dennis came to Ethan.
He pinched the Mottled Rats' tails with some disgust and threw them one by one into the cage holding the Swooping Evil.
The Swooping Evil, receiving the food, grabbed the Mottled Rat with its two claws, and in the next moment, bit its head and sucked it up.
Four or five seconds later, the Swooping Evil threw the Mottled Rat out of the cage, its eyes fixed on the ones floating around Dennis.
It was really fast, Ethan thought to himself, and continued to feed it.
"Swooping Evil should be able to shrink into a palm-sized chitinous egg, this cage shouldn't be able to hold it, right?"
Facing Ethan's doubts, Dennis patiently explained:
"It's not the cage that traps it, but the collar around its neck, which restricts its ability to transform."
Ethan nodded to show his understanding and prepared to continue looking.
He didn't know what other surprises were waiting for him to discover.
But Dennis told him that the cages behind were all empty. They originally had some Billywig, Mooncalf, and Crumple-Horned Snorkack, these magical creatures.
They were just sold cheap recently. Large, precious magical creatures are not easy to sell, but there is still a market in Diagon Alley for these small, cheap magical creatures.
