Even while eating, Jaden Yuki was still thinking about how to make his new hero look cooler.
It wasn't until his mother called out to him several times that Jaden reluctantly came downstairs.
“Huh? You mean, we're going to KaibaCorp on our day off?”
Sitting at the dinner table, Jaden heard about the weekend's plans from his father.
“Yeah, KaibaCorp is having a public release for their new product on Sunday. We'll all drive over to Domino City to witness it.”
“So, what do you think, Jaden?”
Mr. Yuki smiled and rubbed Jaden’s head.
KaibaCorp…
Domino City…
Jaden’s eyes lit up.
A sense of excitement surged within him.
Following this timeline, Yugi Muto and the others should still be in high school, right?
That meant, this trip to Domino City would be a great chance to meet them?
Domino City…
It’s the ‘holy land’ of Duelists, after all.
Jaden, a card enthusiast in his past life.
How could he not want to meet the original King of Games, Yugi Muto?
“Thanks, Dad!”
Seeing the excitement on Jaden’s little face,
Mr. and Mrs. Yuki exchanged a glance, and they both saw surprise in each other's eyes.
They expected Jaden to be happy.
But they didn’t expect him to be this excited.
It was the first time they had seen a childlike smile on his face.
Maybe… this kid is truly meant to be a Duelist.
…
The day off came quickly.
Besides going to the card shop near his home every day to duel with people,
Jaden spent his time at home practicing his drawing skills, trying to make his self-designed new hero look cooler.
But, he was only five years old after all.
No matter how hard Jaden tried, his technique was still too immature.
However,
While his drawing skills didn’t improve much,
The name “Jaden Yuki” had begun to gain a bit of fame in the surrounding streets for his Dueling prowess.
Nearly all Duelists knew that there was a five-year-old child named Jaden Yuki who was a Dueling prodigy.
He used a terrifying “Elemental HERO” deck to wreak havoc in card shops.
Because of Jaden’s presence,
Some once overlooked “Spellcaster” cards like “Mystical Space Typhoon” and “Dust Tornado” started to see their prices increase exponentially.
The once-mocked graveyard traps became the object of fierce competition.
For a time, the entire street was swept up in an “Elemental HERO” trend.
But, ordinary people didn’t have Jaden’s level of luck in drawing cards.
After bricking their hands countless times and getting beaten to the point of spitting out foam and twitching their lips,
People finally realized that this deck wasn’t for people like them with sunny dispositions.
Only someone with Jaden’s “sunny”, “warm”, and “healing” personality to the extreme could perfectly master this deck, right?
…
The Yuki family's car soon drove into Domino City.
Since the rise of Duel Monsters,
Domino City, the Holy Land of Dueling, had begun to rapidly develop.
In just a few years, Domino City's development had reached a frightening level.
High-rise buildings stood tall, and everywhere was a scene of prosperity.
KaibaCorp's “K.C.” logo was plastered on the tops of every tall building.
In the most central and luxurious part of the city.
KaibaCorp's nearly 100-story skyscraper stood tall.
A giant screen displayed the holographic projections of KaibaCorp’s latest innovations.
The dazzling Blue-Eyes White Dragon soared across the screen, and its clear roar seemed to resonate in the soul of every Duelist.
“Wow… so cool.”
Jaden, staring out the window,
admitted that even after two lifetimes, he was blown away by the sight.
“Hehehe, Jaden… you really are so cute like a child.”
A soft voice echoed in Jaden’s ear.
Although he didn’t turn around, Jaden could sense Yubel floating behind him, arms crossed, looking at the bustling city with him.
“Ah, yeah… I am a child, after all.”
Jaden smiled slightly and pulled Yubel out of his pants pocket.
“Yubel, maybe we can see some legendary Duelists today.”
Mrs. Yuki, sitting in the passenger seat, glanced at Jaden in the back, blinking as she whispered to her husband driving the car, “Honey, don’t you think Jaden’s been talking to himself a lot lately?”
“Well, kids talk to themselves, right?” Mr. Yuki laughed, not caring in the least. “Back when I was a kid, I was a way bigger chatterbox than Jaden.”
As expected of Jaden’s father.
He’s just as clueless as Jaden.
