Chapter 6
A Small Profit, Tyrant Power Upgraded

Just as Jaden thought.

The duelists in this world, their decks are far simpler than he imagined.

Not even a single wind card.

Their entire decks can be described as card piles.

No synergy at all.

“I activate my trap card, 【Omnipotent Mine - Broad Sword Style】!”

“When your opponent attacks, destroy one monster on their field!”

Revealing the trap card, Jaden smiled at the young man in front of him.

“What? My Diamond Dragon?!”

The young man clutched his head and cried out in despair.

With Jaden’s three Elemental HEROes launching their attacks, the young man’s life points dwindled like water, reaching zero in an instant.

“No way, I actually lost to a kid?!”

Slumping onto the table, tears streamed down the young man's face.

Well, even though I look like a kid, my mind is probably more mature than yours.

Jaden thought to himself, and without hesitation, took the Rare Card, Diamond Dragon, from the young man.

A seven-star vanilla monster.

It might be weak, but it’s still an Upper Level monster, and can be sold for a good price.

“Anyone else want to duel me?”

Jaden looked around, hoping to see if he could collect more Duel Points.

But all he saw were the faces of the duelists, filled with bitter expressions.

“You should try it.”

“Don’t be ridiculous, I already lost three cards to this kid...”

“This kid’s deck is so shady, he has twenty trap cards in his forty-card deck!”

“What kind of dark childhood did this kid have to make a deck this dark?”

Looking at the people around him whispering amongst themselves.

Jaden sighed.

It seemed these adults had been thoroughly defeated by him.

Seeing no one else challenging him.

Jaden packed up his spoils and prepared to leave.

Dozens of decent Rare Cards, although not many could be used, should still fetch a few hundred thousand Yen if sold at a lower price.

He sold the unused cards to the card shop for a low price, and under the surprised gaze of the female shop assistant, Jaden received 150,000 Yen in cash. He bowed in thanks before walking out of the shop.

150,000 Yen.

About 7,600 RMB.

Wow, I was planning on using 10,000 Yen to buy cards.

I actually ended up making a profit!

No wonder everyone in this world dreams of becoming the King of Games.

This Duel Monsters really does pay off.

He picked out two popsicles from the refrigerator at the entrance as a reward for himself.

Jaden ate his popsicle and walked back home, taking the time to check his progress for the day.

【Current Ability: Overlord's Might LV.2 (20/1000)】

【Duel Points: 500】

The Duel Point rewards varied depending on the opponent's strength.

Although Jaden had a perfect record today, because of the varying skill levels of the duelists, the Duel Points he received were also completely different.

The highest reward he got was twenty points.

The lowest was only two points.

He duelled dozens of people, only gaining a total of 500 Duel Points.

Jaden was a little disappointed.

Fortunately, Overlord’s Might had already reached LV.2.

Jaden could already vaguely feel the Overlord’s Power stirring within him.

“Jaden…Jaden…”

“My beloved Jaden…”

Just as Jaden was eating his popsicle and about to check the system’s shop to see what he could exchange for,

He could faintly hear a voice calling out to him.

It was Yubel…

Jaden's eyes narrowed.

He took out his deck and pulled out Yubel’s card.

Overlord’s Might surged from Jaden’s small body.

His orange eyes could clearly see.

Yubel’s card was shrouded in black mist.

In the card art, Yubel’s spirit was stirring.

Black mist emanated from the card art.

Behind Jaden, Yubel’s phantom slowly rose.

She gently hugged Jaden from behind.

Even if her power wasn’t enough for her to fully manifest.

Jaden still felt the icy breath emanating from Yubel.

This time, the duration was much longer than last night.

It was only after five minutes that Jaden felt a wave of weakness, and the Yubel behind him gradually dissipated, disappearing without a trace.

“Yubel…”

Looking at the card in his hand, Jaden knew that Yubel must be watching over him silently.

But because his power was limited, his perception of her could only go this far.

“I hope you staying with me won’t harm the people around me…”

Jaden muttered softly.

He knew.

In the original storyline.

It was because of Yubel’s almost excessive protection of him when he was young that many of Jaden’s close friends were hurt.

It also made Jaden’s childhood incredibly lonely.

And in order for Jaden to break free from Yubel’s ‘protection’, his parents entrusted Kaiba Corporation with launching Yubel and Jaden’s self-designed 【New Space】 Deck into space, hoping that Yubel would be able to accept the power of the Cosmic Darkness, making her personality gentler.

But it was twisted by the Cosmic Light Wave, leading to a series of tragedies that followed.

“I hope everything won’t repeat itself…”

“Yubel.”
