Chapter 20
The World-Contesting War of Three Deities, We Mortals Suffer the Consequences

Mondstadt City, headquarters of the West Wind Knights.

Amber and Jean were anxiously watching the confrontation between Eula and Su Xuan on the screen.

Paimon and Lumine’s mood was obviously much calmer than theirs.

Lisa looked indifferent, not showing the slightest bit of worry for Eula on the screen.

She was thinking, thinking about Su Xuan’s words that had tempted Amber, thinking about his words that had provoked Eula.

The common thread in both actions was that they pointed the finger at Mondstadt, using the unfair treatment of the two women to scrutinize them.

“Yes! It’s scrutiny!”

Lisa's sudden excitement startled everyone else.

“Lisa, what are you talking about?”

Jean was bewildered.

Lisa, who was always as steady as a rock in the face of anything, was truly frightening when she became suddenly excited.

“I mean that Su Xuan is using his actions to scrutinize and test Amber and Eula.”

“Do you remember the screen's introduction to his thought process as the Fifth Descender?”

Fifth Descender, Su Xuan's thought process?

Jean, Amber, and Paimon were all dumbfounded.

Seeing this, Lisa placed her hand on her forehead in distress and shook her head in exasperation, “You really did forget?”

Fortunately, Lumine, whose emotions weren’t too turbulent, remembered the previous content, “The Fifth Descender acknowledges Celestia's love for the beings of Teyvat, but he does not acknowledge her actions.”

“The Fifth Descender believes that many people don't deserve the chance to be reborn.”

With Lumine’s reminder, the three finally realized this hint.

“What does this mean?” Amber looked at Lisa.

Lisa smiled, “I think that with Su Xuan’s abilities, he couldn’t have missed Eula approaching.”

“He timed it perfectly to wait for Eula to appear and save the day.”

“From the moment Amber rejected Su Xuan’s proposal, she was given a chance to live in the future.”

Just like how the mutated Hilichurl Brute suddenly changed targets when it had the opportunity to kill Jean.

These mutated Hilichurls were all acting through Su Xuan’s collective consciousness. For convenience, they should have had pre-programmed behavioral programs before taking action.

Recalling the previous strange behavior of the mutated Hilichurls, combined with the screen's initial hint, Lisa suddenly understood.

Like the Hilichurl Archer who hid behind a tree and released a cold arrow, he initially killed the knights who were complaining. He even killed a knight who wanted Lumine to help them defeat the Hilichurls so they could go back to rest sooner.

These were the people Su Xuan thought didn’t deserve to be reborn.

“Miss Lisa, I still don’t understand.” Amber asked awkwardly.

“Lisa's meaning is that if you had accepted Su Xuan’s seduction, taken the Stigma Potion, you would have died.”

Amber covered her mouth in fright, looking at Lumine in shock, trembling, “Could it be that the Stigma Potion really turns people into Hilichurls...?”

“I think the Stigma Potion really can give people extraordinary power, but that doesn't stop him from killing you.”

“Especially if he killed you while you were immersed in the joy of extraordinary power, it would make you feel even more despair and torment.”

All the Stigma Potions were created by Su Xuan, so killing someone who had taken it would certainly be no challenge for him.

Lisa adopted the manner of a teacher and analyzed Su Xuan.

Jean and Amber could only listen obediently, nodding their heads from time to time, looking as if they had suddenly understood.

However, as Lisa's analysis continued, the expressions of the three women became increasingly grim.

Mondstadt was the freest city-state in Teyvat, but in its excessive freedom, people had developed many bad habits.

If Su Xuan rigidly followed hard rules, he could very well slaughter eight out of ten Mondstadt citizens.

“Isn't his thought process a bit tyrannical?”

“Everyone has their own right to life and their own way of life. Why does he have to interfere?”

Feeling the awkward atmosphere in the room.

Lumine hurried to speak, breaking the increasingly dull mood of the three.

Lisa sighed helplessly and forced a smile, “In a world filled with all kinds of power, the rules are naturally set by the strongest.”

“As the screen said, Celestia and the Abyss are using Teyvat as a chessboard to fight for control of the world.”

“Su Xuan, as the Fifth Descender, if he thinks he also has the right to compete, why doesn’t he participate in the game?”

“He might also want to become the master of Teyvat, so before that, he needs to clean up some things in this world that he finds unpleasant.”

“He wants to re-establish his own rules. I think there's nothing to misunderstand.”

The more Lisa spoke, the heavier the girls' hearts became.

They had never imagined that one day they would be involved in a plan for world domination.

Celestia's team was clearly the Fourth Descender and the original Destiny Machine.

The Abyss' team should have a close relationship with the Abyss Order.

Then, suddenly, the Fifth Descender appeared, acting independently.

So far, they still didn’t understand the exact meaning of the so-called Destiny Machine and the so-called rebirth.

Celestia's team is nowhere to be found.

The future of Teyvat is as chaotic as a pot of porridge.

But in the end, it all boils down to a fight between three deities. What does it have to do with them, a bunch of mortals?

Why do they have to suffer?

The room instantly fell silent.

Finally, Amber broke the silence, laughing, “If what Miss Lisa said is true, Su Xuan must also want to test Eula.”

“I guarantee that Eula will pass his test. Then, he won’t kill Eula either, right?”

Unfortunately, Lisa’s head shook like a metronome.

“Amber, it's not that I want to discourage you, but I can’t fathom someone like Su Xuan.”

“I’m just analyzing the information given by the screen and the previous footage. The real factors that will cause everything to change will depend on Su Xuan's mood.”

“He said he was going to attack Mondstadt himself. Maybe when he wakes up, he'll run off to Inazuma.”

“He might just want to watch us drown in fear and slowly consume ourselves from within.”

“People’s moods change with the things around them. No one can guarantee what he will do next.”

Lumine really couldn’t listen anymore.

These things had nothing to do with her.

She walked to the window alone, looking out at the distant blue sky.

Lumine’s heart was bitter, but she didn’t know who to confide in.

She just wanted to find her blood relative and then the two siblings would start their journey to find their home again.

But then a world domination battle broke out in Teyvat, and her blood relative had vanished into thin air.

She found it strange that so many people in the chat group couldn’t provide any information about Aether.

Not even Aether himself had responded to her.

Lumine dared not think about it any further, afraid that she would break down.

“Sigh!”

A thousand words could only be condensed into a heavy sigh.

Lumine suddenly remembered Su Xuan.

The Fifth Descender who knew the past and present of Teyvat.

“Maybe he knows where Aether is. I’ll stay in Mondstadt and wait to see if he comes.”

“But he has no reason to tell me about Aether.”

Lumine felt a wave of loneliness.

The scene of her eating with Su Xuan that day came to mind.

She patted her face, regaining her composure.

“He should be better to deal with than the Abyss Order and the Fourth Descender, right?”

“At least we’ve met before.”
