Chapter 34
The Light of Masaki

After catching the Squirtle, Ash and his companions continued on their journey. It’s worth noting that Gary didn’t catch Squirtle because he prefers Rock-type Pokémon. Misty and Tracey, however, each caught one, while the remaining two became Officer Jenny’s Pokémon.

Now, Ash was leading everyone towards a lighthouse.

“Where are we going, Ash?” Misty asked, puzzled to find themselves by the sea. Ash sighed, “I need to rescue an old friend. Professor Oak said he hasn’t been active for a long time…”

“Old friend…” *3

Hearing Ash mention an old friend, the three of them felt a pang of anxiety. After all, Ash’s “old friends” were mostly beautiful women, something Misty and Tracey felt threatened by, while Gary worried about his own broken heart. Ash explained, “Yes, a guy named Professor Kukui. He just loves dressing up as Pokémon, and I guess he got stuck in his Fossil Pokémon costume again…”

Meowth nodded from the side, “Yeah, that guy is always changing his look, meow. But he’s definitely great at making life-size figures, meow…”

“……” *3

Fearing Kukui might already be gone by the time they arrived, Ash and the others quickened their pace and soon reached Kukui’s lighthouse. As Ash had worried, Kukui was stuck inside his Kabuto costume, unable to get out.

“Thank you for the rescue, Ash. I thought I was done for…”

Starving, Kukui stuffed bread into his mouth, making Ash worry he might choke.

“Slow down, no one’s taking it from you…” After handing Kukui a glass of water, Ash told his Pokémon, “Go ahead and play by the beach for a while. You deserve a break after coming all this way.”

Ash’s Pokémon cheered in response.

“Alright, Doc, enjoy your meal. I’m going to play too.”

“Go, go, and don’t forget about dinner.”

“No problem.”

Soon, Ash arrived at the beach. Misty and Tracey had already changed into swimsuits. As for Gary? To prevent some real pervert from peeping, he had been knocked unconscious and tossed into the bushes.

“Ash, over here!” Misty waved excitedly as she saw him approach. Ash, on the other hand, was inspecting Misty and Tracey’s figures. It was different from the anime in the past where they were just ten years old and already on adventures. Now, Misty and Tracey were quite well-endowed. Noticing Ash’s gaze, Misty and Tracey felt a little embarrassed. After all, Ash had also changed into swim trunks, revealing his well-built physique from all his training.

“I didn’t expect the money-grubber to be this well-built,” Tracey commented, patting Ash’s muscles in surprise. Ash explained to them, “I’ve been training hard to prepare for future journeys.”

Misty blushed slightly and said, “You’re really just training? Are you sure about that?”

Ash just smiled and didn’t say anything. He couldn’t possibly tell Misty and Tracey that while he’d forgotten most of the plot, he still remembered the countless apocalyptic threats he’d face...

Ash, Misty, and Tracey happily spent the afternoon playing with their Pokémon. Gary, on the other hand, remained unconscious for the entire afternoon. Perhaps he had been hit too hard, or maybe it was because his Pokémon were mostly Rock-type and didn’t like staying by the water, so they spent the afternoon happily playing in the forest.

In the evening, after everyone had eaten their fill, Ash gathered his Pokémon for something.

“Ri!” (Can’t leave out the meat!)

“Je-ni!” (It needs to be flavorful!)

“See-d!” (A fragrant taste after finishing!)

“Om!” (Add some sweetness)

“Bi!” (Let’s add some seasonings)

“Wow!” (Needs a strong flavor)

“Li!” (I think that’s good)

“Pi-ka!” (No, no, without tomatoes, it’s soulless!)

“Lucky!” (My egg is ready too)

“Boss, add this!”

“Moo!” (The freshest milk today!)

“Okay, the flavor should be perfect now! Come on, everyone, try it.”

Cheers erupted from within the kitchen, leaving Misty and the others outside confused.

“What’s Ash doing?”

“It seems like something to help me. Today, I will finally see the real face of the giant Pokémon!”

“Giant Pokémon?”

Meanwhile, inside the kitchen, Ash’s Pokémon were all full. Ash, making an even larger portion, asked, “How does it taste?”

Pikachu and the others gave a thumbs up. Ash smiled, pleased with the enticing soup he had made. Today, Ash would use this soup to attract a giant Dragonite!
