After Satoshi and his powerful Jigglypuff’s earlier performance, people no longer looked down upon the so-called rookie trainer. After all, how many rookie trainers can defeat a Champion’s Pokémon?!
Meowth stood on the ice, facing the Dragonair.
Satoshi and Kiana both remained silent. They knew each other’s strength. As all the spectators watched with bated breath, Satoshi and Kiana simultaneously shouted: “Dragonair, use Ice Beam!” / “Meowth, use Shadow Ball!”
Meowth and Dragonair launched their attacks simultaneously. The white beam and the black sphere collided, causing a massive explosion.
“Charge forward, use Shadow Claw!”
“Got it!”
Meowth surged out of the smoke at lightning speed, its claws glimmering with a dark aura, aiming for Dragonair.
“Protect!”
Green energy enveloped Dragonair, causing Meowth’s Shadow Claw to miss.
“Dragonair, Dragon Tail!”
“Ugh!”
Dragonair leaped high into the air and slammed down towards Meowth. If the attack connected, it would be disastrous for Meowth.
“Dodge it, then grab it!”
Meowth was incredibly fast. As Dragonair slammed down, it quickly dodged and clung to Dragonair’s back.
Satoshi’s eyes flashed with a fierce glint as he shouted, “Thunderbolt!”
“The Technical Machine is so useful, meow!”
Lightning surged across Meowth’s body. Terrifying electric currents raged across Dragonair’s body.
“Ugh!”
Dragonair screamed as the yellow lightning grew stronger, but Satoshi didn’t give any command for Meowth to stop. Instead, he said, “Meowth, increase the intensity, and pay close attention to the moment.”
Meowth, in perfect sync with Satoshi, understood his intention. It grinned and said, “Got it, meow! Dragonair, don’t disappoint me and Boss, meow!”
Meowth amplified the Thunderbolt. Dragonair persisted despite the electric shock. It seemed to be searching for something, and then, in an instant, it grabbed Meowth.
Kiana, in perfect harmony with her Dragonair, smiled and said, “That’s it, break through, Dragonair!”
With Kiana’s shout, Dragonair broke free from Meowth’s Thunderbolt. Meowth jumped aside with a smile. It had found what it was looking for.
As for Dragonair, its aura was completely different. It was no longer the Champion-level powerhouse it was before, but a true Champion!
Kiana looked at Dragonair, her companion since childhood, and a radiant smile bloomed on her face. She turned to Satoshi and said, “Thank you, Satoshi.”
Satoshi, who had donned his hat again, looked at Kiana and said, “You’re welcome. Meowth also benefited greatly, but congratulations. Dragonair is a Champion now.”

“Goodness! We’ve witnessed the birth of a Champion Pokémon! This match will go down in the history of Cerulean City! Wait, if Dragonair just entered the Champion level, then what about Meowth that could suppress Dragonair?!”
The announcer's reminder finally made the audience realize something terrifying.

No wonder the audience was so shocked. Usually, Champion-level Pokémon are at their final evolution stage. But what did they see? A Champion Jigglypuff and a Champion Meowth!
Satoshi looked at the shocked audience with a hint of helplessness and said, “Really, Meowth and Jigglypuff have been with me since they were small. Isn’t it normal for them to be this strong?”

Satoshi shrugged at the audience’s protests. Then, he turned to Kiana and asked, “Do you want to continue?”
Kiana smiled and nodded.
“Of course. Everyone would agree to award you the Cerulean Badge now, but it’s better to finish the last match.”
Satoshi respected Kiana’s decision.
“Then, Pikachu… no, danger!”
As Satoshi was about to summon Pikachu, a tremor shook the ground. Satoshi instinctively rushed toward Kiana, who was closest to the tremor, grabbed her, and ran for cover.
Boom!
With a huge explosion, a giant machine appeared in the Cerulean Gym. Satoshi carried Kiana towards the machine and said, “Here we go again…”
The familiar BGM played.
“Since you sincerely ask”

“To unite all peoples within our nation”
“To denounce the evils of truth and love”
“To extend our reach to the stars above”
“Jessie!”
“James!”
“We are the Rocket Gang!”
“White Hole, the white tomorrow is waiting for us!”
“That’s right~ meow~~~~”
“Hahaha! This time, we’re well-prepared, kid! Hand over Pikachu!” Jessie laughed, but James was dazed. “Hey, Jessie, I think we’re a little late… do you know who that kid is holding?”
Meowth looked at Kiana, who was being held in Satoshi’s arms, and asked in confusion, “Who’s she, meow?”
James said in a sweat-drenched voice, “That’s Ice-type Champion Kiana!!! She’s one of the Kanto Four Heavenly Kings!!!”

The machine started, a powerful suction force pulling in water and everything else.
“What will this sudden appearance of Team Rocket bring? Stay tuned! We’ll be with you until the end!”
Satoshi was speechless at the announcer's professionalism, but he had a plan.
“Meowth, take care of it.”
“Understood! Launching the latest machine-disabling device!” Meowth pulled out a small gun and shot the machine. A powerful electric current surged through the machine, shocking Team Rocket and disabling it.
“Great, then… can you let go of me now?”
Satoshi had been ready to take out a Poké Ball, but he realized he was tightly trapped. Kiana, nestled in his arms, licked a stone cut on his arm.
“I won’t let you escape again this time.”
“Let me go! You crazy woman! How could I have forgotten you were still plotting against me?!”
It was lucky that everyone was distracted by the chaos, otherwise, Satoshi and Kiana’s dating rumors would have started.
Kiana held Satoshi tightly and took out a document she always carried with her. “Sign it, and I’ll let you go.”
Satoshi said without looking, “No way! Your stuff is no good! I was blinded back then, thinking you were a gentle older sister! Who knew you were a man-eating wolf! Let go! I won’t yield!”
“No, but that’s not important now. Those two, and Meowth, woke up.”
Hearing Kiana’s words, Satoshi finally remembered the three culprits.
