Chapter 10: Encountering the First Super Soldier
After five minutes, a table of deep-fried meat platters was ready.
Led by the waitress, a group of people pushed the fried meat platters to the room door.
After obtaining permission, the waitress, accompanied by staff pushing the food cart, entered the dining area.
Upon entering, the other staff didn’t react much, but the waitress was taken aback!
The long table, originally laid with enough food for three, was now empty except for a fruit platter that remained intact.
Looking around, she saw used plates and bowls scattered on the floor, a cat and a dog, their bellies visibly full, sitting next to the young master. No one else was present.
While directing some to place the food on the table, she instructed others to gather the dirty dishes from the floor.
After the dishes were cleared, the waitress looked up at the young master.
Her eyes widened in shock.
At that moment, Huang Ke Yin was using one hand to grab a still-warm fried pork chop, devouring it in three or four large bites. The pork chop was thirty centimeters in diameter and three centimeters thick.
Several small baskets, previously used to hold the consumed food, were already placed aside.
Yes, the chefs used large filter baskets to hold the food.
Noticing the waitress staring at him, Huang Ke Yin swallowed his food.
“Keep bringing more, if the kitchen runs out of supplies, go buy some outside! Order takeout!”
After undergoing two rounds of gene replication and fusion, Huang Ke Yin felt his physical strength, or rather, his overall abilities, had been significantly depleted.
Now, with the constitution and life-returning ability he obtained from the One Piece world, he rapidly absorbed the calories from the food through excessive consumption.
“Yes, young master.”
Overcome with shock, the waitress quickly left with the other stunned staff members.
After instructing the kitchen, she returned with newly prepared high-calorie food, along with a group of girls who had just arrived with a large assortment of snacks and drinks. Together, they brought the snacks to the dining area.
On the way, the group of girls gossiped excitedly about their young master.
They discussed his physique, his talent, and even his private life.
Since everyone worked together, the guys pushing the food carts didn’t object, instead joining in the conversation.
Upon reaching the doorway, the girls who had been so chatty suddenly fell silent.
Although they could gossip privately without consequence, talking openly about the young master in front of others could result in dismissal.
Soon, the waitress opened the door and pushed a cart loaded with pork knuckles into the dining area.
Seeing half a table of various fried meat platters, the waitress breathed a sigh of relief.
Finally, the young master was getting full. This was practically gluttony! Would his health be affected?
Unconcerned with the waitress’s inner thoughts, Huang Ke Yin asked directly.
“Did you buy the snacks? Get me some cases of Coke, the large bottles. Doesn’t matter if it’s Pepsi or Coke, bring a few cases of each.”
“Okay.”
After noting the order, the waitress glanced at the leftover fried meat on the table and the food on the cart.
“What about this food?”
“Bring it all, keep bringing it until I tell you to stop.”
“Uh, okay, okay.”
“Those few behind you with the drinks, bring those over first. I was just eating fried meat, it’s a bit greasy.”
“Coming, coming!”
Three individuals, each pushing a large water barrel commonly used in households, entered the room. The barrels, however, were filled not with water, but with different flavored milk tea!
Behind them, a person carried a large bag filled with various beverages.
Finally, a young girl with white hair, despite her tender age, brought two cases of Coke, swaying slightly as she walked.
Seeing the girl carrying the Coke from behind, Huang Ke Yin furrowed his brow.
“What’s going on? Are you short on carts here, or are you lacking men? You let a little girl carry two cases of Coke?! Can’t you see that, you guys? Go help her! Are you always letting her do all the dirty and heavy work?”
Witnessing this, Huang Ke Yin felt he had encountered a situation common in novels, where senior employees bully newcomers.
Hearing Huang Ke Yin’s question, the few guys serving the food trembled slightly, unsure how to respond.
At this time, the waitress who had been with Huang Ke Yin for several days spoke up.
“Young master, please don’t be angry. Mengmeng isn’t being bullied. She’s naturally stronger than others. After coming to work here, she’s been doing a lot of heavy lifting to earn more money. No one here bullies her!”
Hearing the name “Mengmeng,” and seeing the white hair peeking out from behind the boxes, Huang Ke Yin had a realization.
Is it Rui Mengmeng?
“Humph, better be. After you finish bringing everything, leave. Mengmeng, stay behind for a moment.”
“Huh? Ah! Yes!”
Slightly touched by the gesture, Rui Mengmeng carried the Coke, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
“Alright, bring the Coke over quickly.”
“Oh, oh, oh!”
Originally at the back of the group, Rui Mengmeng picked up her pace, quickly bringing the two cases of Coke to Huang Ke Yin.
Watching the girl, who could still manage to jog with two cases of Coke, bring them over, put them down, and only slightly gasp for breath afterward, Huang Ke Yin’s lips curled into a smile.
He was initially wondering how to approach those individuals who possessed the Super Soldier genes. Now, one had unexpectedly appeared before him.
And he had just found a perfect excuse.
Although he desperately wanted to copy Rui Mengmeng’s Noxian Knife genes, the first generation of Super Soldiers from the Noxian civilization, he had to restrain himself.
There were others present in the room. If he made any sudden moves, rumors would spread like wildfire the next day.
Although a half-apocalypse would soon follow, it was still nineteen months before the beginning of everything.
Furthermore, Huang Ke Yin was sure that Rui Mengmeng was being watched by Du K’ao from the Super God Academy.
So, there was no need to rush. Plenty of time.
He grabbed a Coke directly from the box, drank it in one gulp.
“Ah, indeed. It’s the most satisfying thing after eating fried meat.”
He opened a second can, took a sip, then grabbed a large pork knuckle and began gnawing on it with gusto.
After a few bites, he noticed Rui Mengmeng standing nearby, feeling awkward. Huang Ke Yin swallowed his food.
“Well, don’t be nervous, I’m not a man-eating beast. Just call me Mengmeng from now on. Come sit next to me, don’t stand there.”
“Ah, oh.”
Walking over, Rui Mengmeng saw a tabby cat lying beside him, its round belly full, snoring soundly. She had an urge to pick it up and rub its stomach.
