“Bang!”
“What the hell, who do you think you are talking to my boss? Listen up, I’m with the Lian Sheng Fire Leopard!”
Seeing someone holding a knife to his boss's neck, A Bao couldn't hold back any longer. In a flash, he slapped the guy to the ground and stepped on the little brother's head, shouting, “So you’re with the Lian Sheng Fire Leopard? Then you must be ‘Handsome Dong’ Dong Ge? My boss is Hong Tai Lu Ge, are you planning to get involved?”
Upon hearing A Bao's words, Chang Mao Da Ji finally remembered who the two in front of him were. They had crossed paths a couple of times in Mong Kok, no wonder he felt they looked familiar. Despite his earlier arrogance, once he realized who they were, he didn’t make a move and spoke politely, though his attitude still had a hint of arrogance.
“??? Little Si Jiu, are you talking to me? You’re not even worthy. Your boss Lao Gui Lu is more like it.”
Chen Dong glanced disdainfully at Chang Mao Da Ji and then ignored him, turning to A Bao.
“You...”
“Clang...”
Seeing Chen Dong's condescending look, Chang Mao Da Ji was filled with rage. He glanced at the many people around him; although the other side was with Lian Sheng, there were only two of them. What was there to be afraid of? He was about to make a move when suddenly, something hard and dark pressed against his throat. Looking down, he felt his hair stand on end, and the watermelon knife in his hand fell to the ground, too scared to move.
If that thing went off, his life would be ruined...
“Bang!”
“What? You want to use a knife on me? Come on, I’ll give you a chance to pick it up. When I was playing with knives, you were still in your mother’s arms nursing. Come on, come on... nowadays, every young person thinks they’re tough just because they have a knife.”
“Bang!”
“Me? I’ve got a gun too, have you ever seen me act tough?”
“Bang!”
“You bastard, you beat my cousin up like this, how are we going to settle this score?”
“Bang!”
“Alright, you’re not even worthy to talk. A Bao, call Lao Gui Lu and tell him to come over for a chat.”
Chen Dong held a gun to Chang Mao Da Ji's throat with one hand and slapped him hard with the other, using three times the strength of an adult. He knocked out a few of Chang Mao Da Ji's teeth and wasn’t satisfied yet, mainly because he hadn’t been this arrogant in a long time. He kept slapping until Chang Mao Da Ji was dazed.
Although Chang Mao Da Ji's little brothers were eager to jump in, they all hesitated, watching their boss get beaten into a pulp.
That was a gun! Even though they weren’t educated and didn’t know how many bullets were in it, they were sure that if they dared to make a move, at least one bullet would be sent their way. They were just trying to get by; there was no need to risk their lives, right?
“How’s it going, cousin? You alright?”
After flipping Chang Mao Da Ji over, Chen Dong squatted down in front of the bloodied and dazed young man, Yan Zai, and asked kindly.
Though his face was covered in blood, it was indeed familiar. Wasn’t this the childhood version of Chef Feng Wei? However, Chen Dong hadn’t really watched many of Chef Feng Wei’s movies, just one about a young gangster, which was about Chen Haonan. But that guy, the young Chen Haonan, was currently in Causeway Bay, and this guy was called Yan Zai, clearly not the same.
But that didn’t matter; he was just looking for an excuse to confront Lao Gui Lu.
“I... I’m fine, Dong... Dong Ge, I don’t know you, did you get the wrong person?”
When Yan Zai heard this handsome gang leader call him cousin, he felt a strange warmth, as if he really was his cousin. But his mother didn’t even know who his father was, so where would he get a cousin from? He had grown up in Temple Street, and although he hadn’t joined a gang, he had heard a lot. “Handsome Dong” was with Lian Sheng, such a fierce character, he didn’t dare to claim kinship.
“I say you’re my cousin, then you are my cousin. What do you mean by ‘wrong person’? Aren’t you called Yan Zai? I have a cousin named Yan Zai, so you’re my cousin. Alright, look at you all bloodied up, let your girl take you to wash up. Don’t worry, cousin, tonight I’ll make sure Lao Gui Lu gives you an explanation!”
Chen Dong waved his hand impatiently, almost getting himself tangled up in his own words. After saying that, he had a little girl take Yan Zai to wash up while he waited with A Bao, smoking and sipping milk tea for Lao Gui Lu to arrive.
“Dong Ge, what’s going on? You come to Temple Street and don’t even tell me, and now there’s knives and guns involved... Boss, one cup of yin yang milk tea, put it on Dong Ge’s tab...”
Not long after, Lao Gui Lu hadn’t arrived yet, but a handsome guy came in with a group of little brothers. The handsome guy had his little brothers wait at the door, and he walked in with his head horse, glancing at the Hong Tai little brothers squatting on the ground with their heads in their hands before cheerfully coming over to Chen Dong and A Bao, patting their shoulders and sitting down.
How could he not know about such a big incident happening in his Temple Street? Although people got chopped up every day, gunplay was rare, and the person involved was “Handsome Dong” from Lian Sheng.
“Twelve Shao, you know what you’re saying? Temple Street is your territory, how could I dare to use knives and guns? I’ve been studying law recently, be careful I sue you for defamation. I was bored today and planned to come find you to hang out with A Bao, but as soon as I got to Temple Street, I saw this punk chopping at my long-lost cousin. I couldn’t just stand by and watch. I was going to reason with this punk, but he wanted to take a swing at me. Look at what he did to my cousin, a perfectly good face ruined! How is he going to get girls now? Isn’t that going to leave my aunt’s family without heirs?”
“Bang!”
“I let you hit my cousin...”
“Bang!”
“I let you hit my cousin...”
Chen Dong pointed at the “cousin” who had just washed his face and was coming out with his girl, getting more and more agitated, as if his cousin had really been beaten up. He couldn’t help but go up and kick Chang Mao Da Ji, who was already dazed from his slaps, a few more times.
“..........”
Twelve Shao and the head horse looked at each other, speechless. If this beaten-up young man wasn’t one of their Temple Street people, and if they didn’t know his family situation, they might really have been fooled by this guy.
It had to be said, this guy was really good at acting, every pore was filled with drama.
They didn’t expose him, after all, Lao Gui Lu’s little brother came to their Temple Street to chop people, and the one getting chopped was also from their Temple Street, if he died, it would be well-deserved.
But they also wanted to see what “Handsome Dong” was up to, being watched so closely by the police and still having the leisure to clash with Lao Gui Lu.
