Chapter 25
Lin Dawei Rents a House

After leaving the countryside garden, Luo Chuan headed straight for a nearby real estate agency.

He was too lazy to waste his time on renting out the house himself, so listing it with a real estate agency was the most time-saving and efficient way.

“Sir, what can I do for you?”

As soon as Luo Chuan stepped inside, a man in a suit came rushing over, a formulaic smile plastered on his face.

“Renting out a house,” Luo Chuan said calmly.

A flash of surprise crossed the man's eyes, then the corners of his mouth involuntarily curled up.

“Please come with me.”

Sitting down at a small table, the man said,

“Do you have a property certificate or other valid proof?”

Luo Chuan pulled out his property certificate from his bag and placed it in front of the man. The man opened it and saw that it was indeed real, and it was for a property in the nearby countryside garden.

While the houses in this neighborhood weren't in a school district, they were still in high demand. They wouldn't have any trouble renting it out. This was practically a free win for them.

“Okay, please wait. I'll introduce you to our company's requirements for listing a property for rent.”

Luo Chuan's brows furrowed slightly, but he finally nodded.

Ten minutes later, Luo Chuan walked out of the real estate agency with a blank expression, ignoring the man's attempts to keep him there.

Did they think he was a three-year-old who couldn't understand contracts? Some of the clauses in the contract were outrageous. If he had actually signed it in a daze, he wouldn't just fail to make money; he might even get into trouble.

He only managed to resist punching the sales guy in the face because of his "rookie politician" title.

Forget it. He'd just leave the house as it was. It wasn't going to run away. Seriously, his good mood for the day was completely ruined.

Just as Luo Chuan was about to leave, a middle-aged man in sunglasses rushed out from behind, shouting loudly,

“Hey, young man, wait a minute, wait a minute.”

Luo Chuan stopped and looked at the middle-aged man who had suddenly called out to him. Even though he was wearing sunglasses, Luo Chuan recognized him. His features were just too distinctive.

No way, could this be a coincidence?

“Uncle, what's the matter?” Luo Chuan asked.

Lin Da Wei glanced around and pointed to the coffee shop across the street, saying,

“Young man, I have something I want to talk to you about. How about we go to that coffee shop?”

“Okay,” Luo Chuan nodded directly.

Lin Da Wei let out a cheerful laugh and walked ahead.

After ordering some drinks, Lin Da Wei organized his thoughts, trying to figure out how to approach the situation when Luo Chuan went straight to the point.

“Uncle, you want to rent my house?”

Lin Da Wei chuckled sheepishly, not bothering to beat around the bush. He nodded.

“Yes. I was sitting behind you just now, so I heard everything you said to that agent. That agent was such a jerk. He saw you were young and was trying to swindle you. I was thinking about reminding you, but I didn't expect you to figure it out yourself.”

“You're amazing for someone so young. It's unlike my son. He can't even find his way around when he's out.”

Luo Chuan's expression didn't change at all when he heard Lin Da Wei's “praise.” It was just an attempt to get closer. If you take it seriously, you've lost.

But when Lin Da Wei saw Luo Chuan's reaction, he felt a pang in his heart. These young people these days were really tough to deal with.

“Alright, Uncle,” Luo Chuan put down his coffee, his expression turning serious.

“I have other things to do. No need for unnecessary chatter. I'll rent the house to whoever. What do you want to do? Long-term or short-term?”

“Long-term, probably for a year and a half.”

“For a long-term lease, I can lower the rent a little,” Luo Chuan nodded. Long-term leases meant less hassle; he'd only need to collect the rent every month.

“Can we go see the house now?”

“Sure. It's right around here.”

“Okay.”

After receiving a positive response, Lin Da Wei quickly paid and went to the neighborhood with Luo Chuan.

It wasn't that Lin Da Wei was in a hurry, but the houses near the elite middle school were already fully occupied. Of course, there were vacant houses, but the rent was beyond their budget.

Now that they had found a suitable option, Lin Da Wei naturally wanted to secure it.

Stepping into the house, Lin Da Wei nodded at the layout. The environment was even better than he had expected. It was as if no one had ever lived there.

“The furniture here is all complete and in good working order,” Luo Chuan said.

After walking around, Lin Da Wei was extremely satisfied. The most important thing was still to come.

“Well, young man... .”

“Just call me Luo Chuan.”

“My surname is Lin. Don't mind calling me Uncle Lin,” Lin Da Wei said with a smile. “I just want to ask, are you the one who makes the decision on this house? I mean, do your parents agree to rent it out?”

“I know,” Luo Chuan wasn't surprised by Lin Da Wei's questioning. After all, he looked like a high school student.

“Don't worry about that. I have the right to dispose of this house. You can contact me for any issues. We can include this in the contract.”

Lin Da Wei looked at Luo Chuan in astonishment. This young man's demeanor was unlike a child at all.

“Then the rent... .”

“Three thousand five hundred a month, paid every six months.”

The words that came out of Luo Chuan's handsome lips were as cold as ice, making Lin Da Wei's heart skip a beat.

“Three thousand five hundred?”

“Uncle Lin, I'm not asking for an unreasonable price. The location, the environment, and the furniture in here are all brand new. This price is not at all high. It's even a bit low.”

Lin Da Wei fell silent. He knew Luo Chuan was telling the truth. He had been looking around for a while now and was well-informed about the prices. Three thousand five hundred a month wasn't too high.

He was a mid-level manager in a company, earning tens of thousands a month. His wife was a teacher, so their income was stable. But if they really rented this place, they might have to cut back on other expenses.

“How about this, Luo Chuan, Uncle will give you a heads-up. Three thousand a month. Uncle really wants to rent this place, and it'll be a long-term lease.”

Luo Chuan rolled his eyes.

“Come on, Uncle. I'm not going to haggle with you. Three thousand three hundred a month, paid every six months. If you don't accept this, then I'll just leave it empty.”

Lin Da Wei thought for a moment and stamped his foot, agreeing directly.

“Okay. I'll go back and discuss it with my family today. I'll give you my answer tomorrow.”

“Good.”

After setting a meeting time for the next day, the two parted ways at the entrance of the neighborhood. Luo Chuan didn't hurry back to Daxing Village. Instead, he turned a corner and headed towards a bookstore.
