Chapter 21
Consecutive Missions

The eleventh day of the first lunar month, before the Lantern Festival was over, Liberation Monument Middle School was already preparing to start school. Registration was on the eleventh and classes officially started on the twelfth.

After paying his tuition at the school registration office, Luo Chuan returned to the classroom.

Before he even reached the classroom door, a noisy sound came from inside. Without even thinking, he knew that it was Tu Jun and his gang making a commotion.

As soon as he pushed open the door, he saw Tu Jun and Zhu Wei Jiao running around wildly in the classroom. To be precise, Tu Jun was running ahead, and Zhu Wei Jiao was chasing after him with a broom, looking like she was going to beat Tu Jun to death.

It looked like Tu Jun had provoked Zhu Wei Jiao again, Luo Chuan thought.

The moment he saw Luo Chuan, a flash of light lit up in Tu Jun's eyes. He didn't hesitate to fly behind Luo Chuan.

Zhu Wei Jiao stopped in front of Luo Chuan and put down the broom in her hand. Pointing her finger at Tu Jun's nose, she shouted,

"You old dog, get out here! I'm going to beat you to death!"

"You're going to beat me to death? If I go out, wouldn't that mean I'm crazy?" Tu Jun said with a smirk.

"You..."

"Jiao Jiao, what did that old dog do to you?" Luo Chuan asked curiously.

"He... he teased me, said bad things about me," Zhu Wei Jiao said, grinding her teeth and stamping her feet.

"He... he said I don't develop."

Luo Chuan coughed twice, then glared at Tu Jun. Tu Jun looked innocent. He had just been joking. He had never taken these jokes seriously before. Who knew that this time Jiao Jiao would be so angry, picking up a broom and ready to hit him, which scared him a lot.

"Just a joke, Jiao Jiao."

"Then come out here! I'll beat you for a punch in front of Xiao Chuan and this will be over."

Tu Jun stuck his head out,

"Still want to beat me?"

"Come out or not!" Zhu Wei Jiao roared, like a lioness enraged.

Tu Jun trembled and retreated behind Luo Chuan again, muttering,

"Looking at you like that, I think I'd rather not come out."

Luo Chuan gave Zhu Wei Jiao a look, then quickly stepped aside, revealing the stunned Tu Jun behind him.

"Chuan'er, you're tricking me."

Under Luo Chuan's heartless laughter, the classroom soon echoed with Tu Jun's screams.

"Dog Brother is still so miserable," Ding Rong Liang looked at the angry Zhu Wei Jiao and couldn't help but shudder. Then, as if he thought of something, his eyes narrowed,

"Fortunately, my Yuan Yuan won't be like Jiao Jiao."

Luo Shen Xi was speechless and thought about whether he should write another guide to love to "help" his brother so that he could get the girl of his dreams.

Amidst the noise and commotion, all the students in the class of 2-3 had finally arrived, and the head teacher stood on the podium.

Luo Chuan's head teacher was a rather plump middle-aged woman surnamed Liu. She always had a bad look for students who had poor grades, and of course, Luo Chuan was one of them.

After saying a few simple words about the start of the new semester, she asked Tu Jun and a few other students with lower rankings to stay behind and clean the classroom. Everyone else was free to go home.

"Humph, I knew this old witch was targeting us."

Tu Jun said with a broom in his hand, looking dissatisfied.

"Why is it always us every year? Don't you think so, Chuan'er?"

"Then why don't you improve your grades and you won't have to clean?"

Tu Jun smiled sheepishly,

"I'm just not willing to leave you guys behind. If my grades improve, what are you guys going to do? This is called sharing weal and woe."

"Cut it out."

Everyone raised their middle fingers in unison.

The group quickly cleaned up the classroom and locked the door before going home. Perhaps because school was starting tomorrow, everyone else had no interest in playing around. They said goodbye and went their separate ways.

The next day, Luo Chuan, carrying his schoolbag, felt an inexplicable excitement. This was a feeling he hadn't had in a long time. After locking the door, he went to school with Zhu Wei Jiao, Tu Jun, and the others.

Like before, the first day was the school's opening ceremony. The school leaders on stage spoke passionately, while the students below were drowsy.

Finally, after enduring the opening ceremony, they returned to the classroom to be subjected to the head teacher's verbal attack and mental torture. She just kept talking about the college entrance exams and all that without even needing a script.

Actually, high school year two was still alright. Once they reached high school year three, everyone's pressure would only double.

After the class meeting, it was time to move and distribute books. It was, without a doubt, Tu Jun and Luo Chuan's job.

Tu Jun, however, was excited about it because as long as he didn't have to be with the head teacher, he was happy to do anything.

"Everyone has their books, right?" The head teacher scanned the classroom. After confirming that no one was missing, she continued,

"We've already had the New Year. You should all get back on track and get ready for the start of the new semester. Remember, this semester is crucial. Those who are doing well should work harder, and those who are lagging behind can completely achieve a turnaround this semester."

"To help you quickly adapt to the atmosphere of school, we are going to have a first-day exam. It will be tomorrow."

"Ah~"

As soon as she finished speaking, a wave of groans erupted throughout the classroom. Everyone's eyelids drooped.

The head teacher, who had anticipated this reaction, was not surprised at all. She tapped the podium to silence the classroom, then continued,

"This exam will cover the knowledge from last semester. As long as you've studied diligently, I believe it won't be difficult. That's all. Those who have time should start preparing now."

After class, most of the students sat in their seats with worried expressions, while a few others looked indifferent, obviously the top students in the class.

Luo Chuan also sat in his seat. To others, it looked like he was spacing out.

In reality, Luo Chuan was carefully looking at his system panel because a new mission had just appeared.

【System Mission: Path to Genius (Continuous Mission)】

Phase One: Make a Splash

You have to prove your extraordinary strength with a formal exam. You have to make people see you in a new light.

Reward: Random Draw *1

Phase Two: Unlocks upon completion of Phase One

It's actually a continuous mission, Luo Chuan thought. And the most important thing is that there's no penalty for failure. You have to complete the mission to get the reward. If you don't, you just have to watch. It's fair!

Luo Chuan wasn't worried about the exam tomorrow. He hadn't fallen behind in his studies. After reading his textbooks, he did exercises. After finishing the exercises, he searched for online courses on the internet. As long as it could increase his experience, Luo Chuan would try it.

All his subjects were still a long way from reaching Level 3, but they were more than enough to handle high school exams.

The first day of school went by quickly. All the teachers, in a tacit agreement, didn't prepare any new lessons. They asked the students to review on their own. This gave the students a chance to catch their breath.
