Chapter 32
The Three of Us Living Well Is Better Than Anything Else

“I have to say, that was a truly unforgettable entrance…”

The blonde girl, already seated in the living room, slammed her fist on the table, glaring angrily at Lu Chen.

“Forget it! Absolutely, no memories can be left behind!”

“From a physiological perspective… that’s a bit of a tall order.”

Lu Chen shrugged, ignoring the threats in Hua’s glare that held no real danger, and casually opened a can of sardines.

The salty aroma of the sauce filled the air, causing the girl, whose stomach had just been grumbling, to swallow involuntarily.

Her mouth might have been tough, but her body was being honest.

“It’s getting late, we should eat and drink, and in a few hours, we’ll be heading back to the danger zone.”

Mai thought Lu Chen would say something like an opening speech.

But instead, he simply mumbled a dismissive response and started fiddling with the can lid, trying to open all the cans on the table.

Sighing, Sakurajima Mai reminded him.

“Before we eat, shouldn’t we say something?”

“Hmm? I didn’t know you were such a stickler for ceremony…”

Hearing this, Lu Chen raised an eyebrow, looking at the two sisters waiting for him to speak, his heart stirred slightly.

“Well… the conditions are a bit rough right now, but it’s definitely going to get better.”

“There’s a saying, you know.”

“The three of us living a good life is more important than anything else – ow, Mai, what are you doing?”

“Nothing.”

Sakurajima Mai withdrew her arm, whispering.

“I just feel like if I don’t interrupt you, you’ll definitely steer the conversation off track.”

“Besides, you’re obviously taking advantage of both me and Hua, aren’t you?”

“Tsk, you caught me.”

“I hope you’ll admit it with a little more sincerity next time.”

Shaking her head helplessly, Sakurajima Mai held up a bottle of purified water, as if she were holding a champagne flute filled with sparkling wine.

A true actress, even her props didn’t detract from her elegance.

“We’ve survived the second day of the ‘Survivor Game,’ and that’s something to celebrate.”

“Before we came here, I took a look at the online player count in the chat room.”

“Out of the original 10,000 people in the channel, about 40% have gone offline… meaning they’ve died.”

“Thankfully… we’re still alive, and we’re able to gather here.”

As she spoke, the girl’s eyes shimmered, her fair cheeks flushed slightly, but she still looked intently and resolutely at Lu Chen.

“Both Hua and I are able to sit here safe and sound, thanks to you, Lu Chen.”

“If you hadn’t stepped in to protect us, I’m afraid Hua and I would have a very different fate.”

Mai’s words also reminded Hua of the few survivors she had encountered at the clinic, causing her to nod in agreement.

“I just did what I wanted to do.”

Lu Chen shrugged, he didn’t have the habit of flattering himself.

“Since you put it that way…”

Sakurajima Mai picked up a can of meat that had already been opened and used a spoon to scoop out a chunk of meat soaked in oil.

“I have something I want to do too, and you wouldn’t refuse, would you?”

She carefully controlled the spoon, guiding it toward Lu Chen’s mouth, prompting him.

“Open your mouth, ah…”

“Are you treating me like a three-year-old?”

Lu Chen was a little amused, but he understood her intention and accepted the feeding play she had initiated.

Even though the canned food that had been preserved for many years wasn’t actually very tasty, it was basically bland except for the heavy oil and salt.

But with Mai feeding him, it seemed palatable.

Could this be the true meaning of “beauty is in the taste buds”?

“Wait, wait!”

Seeing the two of them acting so affectionately, like a couple, Hua immediately panicked.

She didn’t want Lu Chen to steal her sister, whom she had admired since childhood!

“Mai-nee, I want some too~”

Lu Chen glanced at her and quipped.

“Adults are busy, little kid, don’t butt in.”

“What? I’m only one year younger than Mai-nee!”

Seeing the two about to bicker again, Sakurajima Mai quickly forked a piece of canned fruit and stuffed it into her sister’s mouth.

With the temptation of food, the “gathering” became less explosive.

After all, everyone had been on the move for a day, and they needed to replenish their energy.

Taking advantage of a trip to the bathroom, Lu Chen glanced at the time and realized it was already past midnight.

This meant the third day of the Survivor Game had arrived.

At the same time… all the tags could be refreshed!

“Mai’s ‘Sisters Working Together’ tag should have been consumed.”

“But Hua’s ‘Tenfold Senses’ will last for a full 24 hours… so it’s better to refresh that for her.”

“Besides, I have a lot of props that need to have their tags refreshed.”

Lu Chen rummaged through his storage space and pulled out a Forgotten Talent Seed that had been tucked away in a corner.

This Talent Seed and the one he used were actually both obtained on the first day.

Except this Talent Seed didn’t have as good luck as the other one.

It had only brushed up against E-grade tags for two days in a row, so it was left in the corner.

“Hopefully, the third time refreshing the tag will allow it to change its destiny.”

“If it really gets a decent tag…”

“This Talent Seed will be used by Mai.”

Closing his eyes, Lu Chen silently prayed to the god of fortune for half a second, then refreshed the tag of the Talent Seed.

The familiar prompt sounded in his ears, so sweet.

【Ding! Prop “Talent Seed” has obtained B-grade tag: “Elemental Master”!】

(Nature: 100% awaken a Talent related to elemental power)
