Chapter 22
A Redundant Second Look

“Alright, let's see how these trainees' three days of training have gone.”

In the conference room, all the mentors were present to review the audition videos.

There were 100 trainees, and they had to watch each one's video individually. It would take at least 400 minutes.

In other words, just watching these videos would take over six hours.

“That's a lot of work.”

Dilireba, sitting in the middle, shared her thoughts.

“It's 100 trainees,” Cheng Xiao agreed, as the workload was indeed substantial.

“Why don't we just give Cao Zei an A?”

“No no,” Zhang Yixing immediately raised his hand to stop Dilireba's favoritism, laughing, “You can't do that. That's too obvious, giving him an A directly?”

Dilireba, sitting with her legs crossed, played dumb with a beautiful smile, “Huh? Is it that obvious?”

“How can it not be obvious? You're giving him an A without even watching his video.”

“What about fairness if the audience sees this?” Cheng Xiao chuckled, looking at the heat wave beside him.

“Well, in my opinion, it's not fair for him to be participating in this audition in the first place?” Dilireba laughed.

And to be fair, everyone, including Li Ronghao and Ou Yang Jing, agreed with her assessment.

Having Cao Gong participate in this program was like stepping on the word "fairness" and rubbing it on the ground.

“Think about it, his lyrics and music composition skills are good enough to produce a blockbuster album for Liu Dehua.”

“Although the album's songs were all in Cantonese, you all saw his songwriting and composing abilities?”

“Then there's his dancing skills. Not to mention the choreography of the theme song, he even participated in the choreography for Zhang Yixing's new album's main single. What do you think of his dancing skills?”

Zhang Yixing, spinning the pen in his hand, nodded with a shy smile, agreeing with Dilireba's assessment.

“As for his rapping, even if he's bad, he can't be worse than the other trainees, right?”

“‘Love Transfer’ and ‘Loyal and Patriotic,’ I believe everyone present would like to listen to them again?”

What Dilireba said was true. These songs were simply too good.

“We're giving him an A directly because the highest ranking here is A.”

“If we had S, SS, or SSS, I wouldn't hesitate to give it to him.”

She wasn't being intentionally biased, but she genuinely felt that Cao Gong was already beyond all the other trainees here.

The viewers watching the show felt the same way, as Cao Gong was truly too versatile.

“Alright, let's watch the first video, Cao Zei's. We'll use him as the standard, how about that?”

Wang Jiaer smiled and suggested to everyone, starting with Cao Gong's video.

But Cheng Xiao shook his head with a smile, “If we use Cao Zei as the standard, I'm afraid no one else will get an A.”

“Right right, be more moderate.”

Li Ronghao agreed, so he suggested they adjust the scoring accordingly.

After playing Cao Gong's video, the mentors all watched attentively.

After finishing the video, Cheng Xiao awkwardly said, “He dances better than me.”

“Haha,” the other mentors couldn't help but laugh at Cheng Xiao's awkward admission.

“He sings better than me too.” Li Ronghao added his own assessment.

“So there's no objection, right? Give him an A?”

“I'm afraid if I don't give him an A, the audience will tear me apart. After all, it was because of me that he didn't get an A during the first stage.”

Reba was starting to get anxious, quickly explaining her thoughts.

“AAAAA.” The other five had no objections.

After giving Cao Gong his score, Reba still had a smile on her face, “You think it's unnecessary to watch the rest?”

“Haha,” Reba's complaints and 吐槽 made the other few burst into laughter and applause.

The viewers watching the show were all joking.

“It seems like Reba is truly in love!”

“Oh no, Reba is going to fall in love, what do we do?”

“I don't want it!!! I don't want Reba to fall in love!!!”

“Reba, hold on, don't fall in love, focusing on your career is the most important!”

But Reba couldn't hear or see these comments yet.

Because she was now watching the dance videos seriously, but as they watched, the expressions of several mentors became solemn, as many trainees were unexpectedly disappointing.

Many trainees gave up halfway through their performances.

“What are they doing? Don't they know what this means?”

“This is their life! Are they joking with their own lives?!”

Wang Jiaer was so anxious that she slapped the table.

Zhang Yixing was also very troubled, saying, “Don't they know how important this is?”

“Oh my god, how are we going to score them?”

“No, I have to go see these kids. I can't stand it anymore. What are they doing?”

With that, Zhang Yixing went to check on the trainees.

The trainees were almost all in the practice room, waiting for the final results.

Cao Gong was also there, but he was getting impatient, saying, “I'm leaving.”

“Cao Zei, where are you going?” Fan Cheng Cheng asked urgently.

“I'm going to find a practice room to dance. Waiting here is a waste of time.”

“Who knows how long we'll have to wait?” Saying that, Cao Gong was about to leave the practice room.

Coincidentally, Zhang Yixing and Dilireba arrived at the entrance of the practice room.

As they came out, Reba asked him, “Where are you going?”

“I'm going to find a practice room to dance. What else would I do here?”

“It's 100 trainees' dance videos. Even if we don't count 4 minutes per video, even if it's 3 minutes per video, that's 300 minutes; that's 5 hours.”

“It's too boring to waste five hours waiting for the results here, so I'm going to dance and move around.”

“I can't stay idle.” Cao Gong, stretching his neck, explained what he was going to do.

Knowing he was going to practice dancing, Reba nodded, “Go, make sure you go eat on time.”

“Don't let the cafeteria run out of food and you end up hungry.”

Cao Gong replied to Reba's reminder and then left, bored.

It wasn't that Cao Gong was trying to be special, but he was trying to make the most of his time to practice.

After Zhang Yixing entered the practice room, he gave the trainees a good scolding.

But he couldn't scold them too harshly, afraid of discouraging them.

Because they were all teenagers, he was afraid that speaking too harshly would hurt their feelings.

This was what Zhang Yixing found the most difficult.

He couldn't scold them harshly, and if he spoke softly, he was afraid they wouldn't understand the seriousness of the situation.

When it was Dilireba's turn, she was very calm and simply told them to learn from Cao Gong.
