Chapter 17
Warm Lunch Boxes in a Minus-Tens-of-Degrees Environment

“So that’s how it is?”

Pela nodded in understanding.

While Pela couldn't rule out the possibility of Luo Chen lying, his explanation made sense so far.

After all, Pela knew.

Such a creature, resembling a mythical beast, could never be native to Belobog...

If that was the case, it seemed everything made sense.

Just then, Lingke's stomach let out a rumble.

Lingke covered her face, blushing red.

“Um, sorry…”

She muffled her voice, speaking with embarrassment.

Her stomach chose this exact moment to make noise, of all times.

She should've eaten her fill at home before coming out camping, otherwise she wouldn't be in this embarrassing situation.

Lingke noticed Pela and Luo Chen looking at her and felt completely ashamed.

Seeing Lingke's flushed face and adorable demeanor, Luo Chen couldn't help but smile.

He tapped his personal Nono a few times.

A void portal tore open, and Luo Chen pulled out a lunch box.

He handed the steaming lunch box to Lingke.

He also added a layer of void protection to the lunch box to prevent it from getting cold.

Lingke stared at Luo Chen tearing open the void and taking out the lunch box.

It wasn't until the lunch box was in her hands, feeling the warmth radiating from it, that she snapped out of her daze!

The temperature outside was well below freezing. Even Pathfinders like Lingke and Pela needed to wear thermal gear to walk comfortably in this blizzard…

In this kind of temperature, any hot food would freeze solid within three seconds.

That's why Lingke always brought cold, unappetizing herring cans.

But it seemed she was drastically wrong…

Hot food could maintain a constant temperature in a blizzard of minus forty degrees?

Lingke felt the warmth radiating from the lunch box, her face breaking into a happy smile.

“Thank you!”

She looked at Luo Chen, smiling and expressing her gratitude.

She then started to devour the food in the lunch box.

This was the first time she had eaten a hot meal in the middle of an ice-covered snowfield…

“Take your time, there’s more. Oh, Pela, would you like one too?”

Luo Chen said, pulling out another lunch box from the void and handing it to Pela.

Pela was surprised as she accepted the lunch box. Feeling the constant warmth on its surface, she was amazed.

“Mr. Luo Chen, is this also a technology of your civilization?”

She looked at Luo Chen, casually tearing open space, with a puzzled expression.

“Well… How should I put it?

The lunch box you’re eating is indeed a product of the Saiya-ho. But, if you’re asking about tearing open space, that’s my personal ability.”

Luo Chen casually explained.

The robots on Saiya-ho actually don't need to eat. They charge.

But Luo Chen was human, and he couldn't possibly not eat.

Therefore, when Luo Chen was young, a small canteen was added to the Saiya-ho, specifically for his needs.

The food there was no different from Earth's.

It was truly indistinguishable because all the food was actually printed from a molecular level.

The appearance, texture, nutrition, and everything else were exactly the same.

If Luo Chen wanted to increase the saltiness or decrease the hardness, he simply had to adjust certain parameters…

As for spatial abilities?

Well, that was because of Luo Chen's innate talent.

Born with Void and Dimensional abilities, Luo Chen was practically the son of space and dimension.

He didn't even need to activate skills, he could simply wave his hand to create dimensions and alter space.

These lunch boxes were taken from his small canteen using Luo Chen's Void abilities.

Their texture and flavor were his optimized results after decades of tweaking.

Pela nodded calmly after hearing Luo Chen’s words.

After hearing that the ability to tear apart space was not a technology of the extraterrestrials, Pela felt a strange sense of relief.

At the same time, her respect for Luo Chen increased by a notch.

It was clear that Luo Chen’s current abilities were merely the tip of the iceberg.

Yet, even this tip of the iceberg was enough to move Pela.

Tearing open space at will, traversing space as easily as breathing, just these two points alone were enough to make countless people apprehensive.

She wondered if it was a good or bad thing to let Luo Chen enter Belobog.

But with their ability, it should be with good intentions…

If they came with malicious intent, just that mythical beast alone would be enough to make the entire Belobog helpless…

Pela sighed in her heart, then started to savor the warm lunch box in her hand.

After the first bite, Pela’s eyes lit up instantly!

This flavor, it was even better than the Belobog hotel's!

She then joined the team of fast eaters.

As the two were finishing their lunch boxes, sounds gradually came from afar.

“Lingke~!”

Lingke stopped her actions and looked towards the direction of the voice.

“It’s Sister’s voice!”

She said excitedly.

Then, Lingke stood up and shouted back toward that direction:

“Sister, I’m here!!”

………………………………

Meanwhile, on the other side

Deep in the snowfield

While looking at the map in her hand, leading the Silvermane Guards team towards the depths of the snowfield, Seele called out.

Just when Seele thought that there was no trace of Lingke in this area, she faintly heard her sister's voice in the howling blizzard…

“There…”

Seele immediately locked onto the source of the voice and said to Gepard beside her.

“Silvermane Guards, all hands on deck, head south…”

“Yes!”

The Silvermane Guards then marched towards the direction Seele pointed.
