Chapter 9
Sweeping the Armory, Song Dynasty Porcelain Vase

“Good thing, good thing the jade wasn’t broken.”

Wang Pangzi patted the jade pendant on his chest, relieved to find it intact. “It wasn’t a wasted trip.”

“If it weren’t for Lu Xiong, we would have met our end here.”

Hu Ba Yi sighed, “Lu Xiong, words cannot express our gratitude. If you ever need anything from me, Hu Ba Yi will not refuse!”

“And me, Wang Kai Xuan.”

“Good.”

Lu Feng nodded.

He immediately raised his spiked club and started poking at the surrounding walls.

“Feng Da Ge, what are you doing?” Yingzi asked curiously.

“Looking for a secret room.”

Lu Feng remembered that the Japanese garrison was just beyond the wall, and he didn’t want to miss out on their weaponry. That was all good stuff.

Soon he had poked over ten holes in two walls.

Boom!!

One wall gave way to the spiked club, revealing a deep passage.

“Found it!”

Lu Feng’s eyes lit up as he walked in.

The passage was deep and dark. Shining his flashlight, he soon saw orderly tracks on the ground, leading to unknown darkness.

“Lu Xiong, could this be the Japanese garrison?” Hu Ba Yi asked.

“That’s right.” Lu Feng replied.

“So the Jin Dynasty General’s tomb is actually adjacent to the Japanese garrison, talk about luck!” Wang Pangzi exclaimed excitedly.

After going through the deep passage, they passed through a large iron gate, and the space opened up.

On one wall, Lu Feng found a map of the garrison.

Warehouse, barracks, showers, soldier quarters, rest rooms, granary, etc.

“It’s huge!” Wang Pangzi commented.

“Everyone, hurry up and find some guns or something.” Hu Ba Yi said.

“Let’s get the garrison powered up first, it’s too dark to find anything.” Lu Feng said.

“You’re right.”

“Makes sense.”

Wang Pangzi and Hu Ba Yi checked the map, then headed straight for the power room.

“Yingzi, you go with them too.”

Lu Feng sent Yingzi with them and immediately rushed towards the armory.

He was stunned by the amount of supplies inside.

Grenades, explosives, Type 92 heavy machine guns, gas masks, brand-new Type 38 Arisaka rifles (with five-round magazines), and even Type 100 submachine guns… there were all kinds of bullets, too.

They weren’t the most advanced weapons by today’s standards, but they were a hundred times better than hunting rifles.

“Take it!”

Lu Feng only left behind a box of grenades, a box of gas masks, and a Type 38 Arisaka rifle.

He didn’t take the Type 92 infantry gun because there were no shells for it.

After doing all this, the emergency lights in the garrison came on.

Leaving the armory, Lu Feng continued searching the garrison. He unexpectedly ran into Hu Ba Yi, Wang Pangzi, and Yingzi along the way.

“Lu Xiong, the lights are on now, have you found anything good?” Wang Pangzi asked.

“Still searching.”

Lu Feng knew that the secret rooms hidden in the garrison weren’t marked on the map: “Everyone spread out and look around. Don’t rush into any tightly sealed rooms. There might be poison gas.”

Hu Ba Yi and the others agreed and dispersed to search. They quickly found the guns and ammunition Lu Feng had left in the armory, and they were overjoyed.

“Feng Da Ge, Hu Ge, Pang Ge, there’s a secret room here!” Yingzi called out loudly.

Lu Feng rushed over and saw the secret room indeed.

“This is a special airtight door. When the iron door is closed, the vent automatically discharges the air inside, creating a partial vacuum environment, usually used to store valuables.”

“Valuables?”

Wang Pangzi heard this and went to push open the door.

“Pangzi!”

Hu Ba Yi slapped his hand away, his voice serious: “What if there’s a bacterial lab inside? You’ll kill everyone if you open it like that!”

“But it’s not open yet.”

Wang Pangzi glanced at Lu Feng, but Lu Feng’s icy stare made him shiver: “Just got a little excited. Let’s put on gas masks first.”

Lu Feng took the gas mask offered to him and put it on. After everyone had theirs on, he used his spiked club to punch through the iron door, allowing air to rush into the airtight room.

“Lu Xiong, are you even human?”

Hu Ba Yi was speechless. This move was harder than smashing the Red Hound to death, right?

“If not a human, what am I then?”

“What I mean is, how can a human be so strong? Compared to you, those legendary figures like Huo Yuanjia and the strongmen are just pathetic!”

“Stop the nonsense, let’s go in.”

Lu Feng was the first to enter the airtight room.

The entire stone room was large, containing dozens of coffins.

“My God, so many coffins? Did these Japanese devils like our ancestors’ coffins? They’re so twisted.” Wang Pangzi said.

“These are coffins stolen by the Japanese, stolen from our country’s treasures.” Hu Ba Yi said.

“Those bastards, may they never have sons!”

“Look, there are some porcelain vases here, it seems they’ve broken.”

Yingzi discovered some overturned porcelain vases on the ground. They were two fingers tall, covered in ‘cracks’, as if they were about to shatter at any moment. Out of curiosity, she picked them up.

Lu Feng glanced at them and said, “This is a special pattern in Song Dynasty porcelain, ice crackle glaze.”

“Oh, okay. Here you go.” Yingzi said.

“All of them for me?”

Lu Feng raised an eyebrow slightly.

“Yeah.”

“These things are valuable.”

“Valuable?”

Yingzi thought they were just ordinary things: “Then let’s each have one.”

“You really want to split them?”

“Yeah.”

Lu Feng was silent for a moment.

He decided to tell Yingzi, Hu Ba Yi, and Wang Pangzi about the value of Song Dynasty porcelain, after all, he had already collected quite a bit himself.

He might have more collaborations with them in the future.

Even if there was nothing on the surface, he would still feel uncomfortable deep down.
