Chapter 43
The Treasure of the Kingdom of Jingjue

Bang!

Wang Pangzi shot and killed the black-eyed snake that had emerged.

“Everyone be careful, there may be more in this hall.”

Everyone formed a circle, their eyes fixed on the dark corners.

“Watch the ceiling.”

Lu Feng reminded.

“What do you mean?”

Hu Ba Yi looked up in confusion, almost fainting from fright.

The light around the eye-shaped patterns on the ceiling flickered, and a giant ball of flesh made up of black-eyed snakes slowly appeared.

“My god!”

Wang Pangzi broke out in a cold sweat.

“Retreat!”

Shirley Yang shouted.

Professor Chen, Chu Jian, and Ye Yi Xin turned pale, their hands trembling uncontrollably.

“I will use a flashbang, everyone hide and close your eyes.”

“Flashbang?”

“Okay!”

Shirley Yang and the others had no time to wonder where the flashbang came from. They quickly retreated, hiding behind the stone statues and covering their eyes.

Meanwhile.

The snake ball fell from the ceiling. As soon as it landed, the eyes of the snakes glowed red. Then, they went wild and charged towards Lu Feng.

Lu Feng turned and threw a flashbang. The intense light illuminated the entire hall, turning everything white. All the black eyes froze in place.

They seemed to be frozen.

Lu Feng turned back, a flaming orb appearing in his hand.

Boom!!

Ten meters wide flames engulfed the black snakes, instantly swallowing them. The black snakes writhed in pain and tried to flee, but they were all burned to death within a few seconds!

“Impressive.”

No wonder the World's Champion Orb King could destroy the Demon Kingdom.

Lu Feng put away the flaming orb and walked to Wang Pangzi's side, kicking him. Wang Pangzi opened his eyes and was about to speak, but when he saw Lu Feng pointing at the jade eye, he immediately understood and handed it over.

Lu Feng took the jade eye and said, “Come out.”

“Why is there a smell of burnt flesh in the air?”

Wang Pangzi poked his head out from behind the stone statue. The black-eyed snakes were all burned to death.

“What happened?”

Wang Pangzi was completely baffled.

“My god!” Chu Jian widened his eyes, “Is that a flashbang? Are you sure it's not an incendiary grenade? It burned them all to death?”

“How did you do that?”

Shirley Yang stared at Lu Feng, trying to figure something out.

“That's not important.”

Lu Feng didn't dwell on it. He glanced at the stone pillars in the hall, “These stone pillars are based on the Giant Gate Formation, a variant of the Sixteen Dragon Earth-Piercing Formation. Once you crack it, you can open the entrance to the underground palace.”

“Giant Gate Formation?” Hu Ba Yi paused for a moment, then slapped his thigh, “So that's it, how could I have missed that.”

“That stone platform is the mechanism.”

Lu Feng finished speaking and strode towards the stone platform.

“Be careful.”

Shirley Yang reminded.

Reaching the platform, Lu Feng crouched down and pressed his hand on the base, “Five steps to the sun, one step to the shade. That means five rotations clockwise, one counterclockwise.”

Boom!!

An underground passage opened up in the empty space beneath the stone platform. The steps slanted downwards, extending to an unknown location.

“Excellent, this must be the entrance to the underground palace.” Professor Chen was excited, “Let's go down. There must be an underground river below.”

“Let's go.”

Lu Feng took the lead.

They descended dozens of meters through the steps, arriving at a passageway built with stone blocks. These stone blocks were covered with bizarre and colorful murals.

“Ding!”

“Detected host is exploring the tomb of Queen Jingjue. Upon completion of the exploration, you will gain a large amount of points!”

They had no time to study it, only catching a quick glance.

The murals became sparser as they went deeper. Eventually, they disappeared completely, and the passage began to slant downward significantly.

After walking for another twenty minutes, they heard the sound of water.

“I hear water.”

“An underground river? We finally found it!”

Everyone quickened their pace. If the environment allowed, they would have run.

A few minutes later.

Their view suddenly opened up. A deep underground river appeared before them, with cool water flowing gurglingly.

“Water!”

“Great!”

Chu Jian rushed to the riverbank and drank deeply, filling his stomach.

Hu Ba Yi and Wang Pangzi didn't crave water as much, but they still refilled their water bottles.

Shirley Yang and Professor Chen drank greedily from the river.

Ye Yi Xin was unable to drink too much because of her dehydration, so she crawled to the riverbank and sipped small mouthfuls, her face showing the joy of survival.

Professor Chen and the others were exhausted and decided to rest there.

“You guys rest here. I'll take a look around.”

Lu Feng activated his Celestial Eye and looked at the underground river. He found that there were flat, hidden stones in the river that could be stepped on, extending all the way to the opposite bank.

“How come there's a hidden bridge here?”

Wang Pangzi asked in confusion.

“The mechanism was activated by someone.”

“Could it be grave robbers?”

“Possible.”

“Damn, how did they get in? Didn't they steal the Queen's treasure?” Wang Pangzi was starting to get anxious.

“Not that easy.”

Lu Feng stepped onto the first stone. It was solid and safe. He then stepped onto the next one, wading to the other side. When he turned back, Shirley Yang and Hu Ba Yi had also waded over.

“Lu Feng, Old Hu, how's the other side?”

“There's a wall gate blocking the way.”

Hu Ba Yi replied. He shone his light on the gate and found that it was open a meter high, with pry marks.

Hu Ba Yi's face turned grim, worried that Queen Jingjue's treasure had been stolen, “It seems someone got here before us.”

“Go and take a look.”

They passed through the gate, entering another long passage. After dozens of meters, their vision suddenly broadened, revealing a huge natural cave ahead.

“Be careful, the path ahead is broken.” Lu Feng reminded.

Hu Ba Yi and Shirley Yang shone their lights on the path below and saw that it was indeed broken, and they didn't know what was below.

Lu Feng threw out a cold smoke stick.

In an instant.

Shirley Yang and Hu Ba Yi were stunned. There were mountains of gold and silver wares, pearls, gemstones, and ancient jade, all reflecting dazzling light.

“Gulp!”

Hu Ba Yi swallowed hard, his heart racing and his breathing rapid.

Shirley Yang was the same.

“Strange, why didn't the previous group take the treasure? Or did they already take a lot, and this is what's left?”

Hu Ba Yi said, then found it ridiculous. How could they possibly leave behind so many treasures?

“There's a curse here. They say that if you take the treasure from the Black Desert, you'll be buried in the Black Desert forever, along with the treasure.”

“No way?”

Hu Ba Yi was skeptical.

Lu Feng shone his light on a skeleton and said, “There's a body below.”

“A body?”

Shirley Yang and Hu Ba Yi were both shocked. Couldn't they really touch it?
