Chapter 8: Strange Power

The Big Bird didn't immediately launch another attack. To be precise, it couldn't, but other Pidgeots had already followed. Without time to think, Satoshi pulled Serena up and prepared to escape.
Except now Serena wasn't on Satoshi's back. The Pidgeots were very fast and it was already too late. Serena, terrified, burrowed into Satoshi's arms.
"Arcanine, use Flame Wheel!"

At this moment, a sound echoed. Satoshi paused, turned to look, and saw two research center staff members rushing towards them from the road ahead. One of them was leading an Arcanine. The two Arcanines simultaneously unleashed their attacks.
Two flame whirlwinds, like fire dragons, rose into the air. The flock of Pidgeots flew too fast to dodge in time, were struck by the Flame Wheels, their feathers reddened, and they fell from the sky.
Some were able to dodge in time and quickly flew to the side of the Big Bird in the air.
"Come over here!" Seizing this opportunity, the staff member shouted to Satoshi.
"Serena, run!!" Seeing this, Satoshi pulled Serena and ran towards them.
"There's actually a Big Bird. This is trouble now." The two staff members looked at the Big Bird in the sky. They originally thought it was just Pidgeots. Unexpectedly, there was also a Big Bird. A Big Bird was much tougher to deal with than Pidgeots.
Before evolving, even two Arcanines wouldn't have much of a chance against a Big Bird. They were just research center staff, not professional trainers. It would be even harder for them to deal with it.

At this time, the Big Bird let out a cry. Its sharp beak emitted a white light and it swooped down, charging towards the two Arcanines.
"Dodge!" The two staff members instinctively shouted. The two Arcanines quickly jumped to either side. The Big Bird flew through the center of the two Arcanines, rapidly ascended, and flew over the heads of the two staff members, Satoshi, and Serena.

Having just flown into the air and turned around, the light on the Big Bird's beak disappeared, and it immediately opened its mouth. The familiar attack emerged again, purple energy continuously gathering.
"Damn! It's Hyper Beam!" The two staff members' expressions changed upon seeing this. They hadn't even had time to react when they heard a loud boom. The Hyper Beam was unleashed from the sky.
"Danger!"
Too late to give commands, Satoshi saw the Hyper Beam and ran towards the Arcanines.
"Satoshi!" Serena cried out in alarm, but Satoshi had already run off.
The Hyper Beam struck the ground, instantly releasing a large amount of smoke upon impact. The beam of light swept along the ground. One Arcanine was at the edge, while the other was right in front of the beam of light.
Satoshi just ran over, grabbed the Arcanine that was about to be hit, and threw himself to the side. The beam of light passed behind them, and the ground continued to explode.
"That was way too reckless!" The two staff members couldn't help but speak out.
"Great!" Serena finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Satoshi fell to the side, clutching the Arcanine, and lay on the ground. After avoiding the attack, he slowly got up and looked at the Arcanine in his arms.
"Are you alright?"
"Woof~~~" The Arcanine listened to Satoshi's voice, barked a few times, then stuck out its tongue and licked Satoshi's cheek.
"Hahaha! Good, you're okay!"

At this moment, the other Arcanine ran over, barking, as if asking about Satoshi and the other Arcanine.
"It's okay, don't worry! But... " Satoshi responded, then frowned and looked up at the sky. Now the Big Bird was using Hyper Beam, temporarily unable to move, but it was still a huge problem.
"Woof!" As Satoshi was looking at the Big Bird, he suddenly felt a tremor in his brain, and his eyes emitted a faint red light.
"This is..." Satoshi looked at his hands, as if he could see a red energy connecting him to the two Arcanines.
He then experienced a wonderful feeling, as if, despite just meeting them, he already felt a rapport with them. This energy connected them together.
But the two staff members and Serena couldn't see anything. They thought Satoshi was just standing there in a daze.
"Now I can fight, I have a way to deal with it. Are you willing to help me?" Satoshi looked at the Big Bird in the sky, put down the Arcanine in his arms, got up, and spoke to the two Arcanines.
"Woof woof!!"
The two Arcanines responded simultaneously, then quickly ran to Satoshi's side, one on each side, and looked up at the sky.

"What kind of joke, even with understanding, he's just a child!" The two staff members were shocked at this scene. Although they saw Satoshi answer Professor Oak's questions, after all, he was just a 7-year-old child.

The Big Bird seemed to feel provoked, and its sharp eyes flashed with a gleam as it watched the oncoming attack. It flapped its wings, ascended into the high sky, and easily avoided the attack.

"If you're capable, come here!" The attack didn't hit, but Satoshi didn't care. Instead, he looked up at the sky and provoked the Big Bird.
He then turned and ran towards the jungle on the side. The two Arcanines saw this and immediately followed. Upon seeing this, the Big Bird glared and immediately lowered its altitude to follow, and the other Pidgeots followed as well.
