While untying the silk threads from Pidgeotto, Xia Zhi introduced them.

“Pidgeotto is my companion. This is Pikachu, this is Metapod, the one that just battled you was Caterpie. And over there is Magikarp. This is Xia Xia.”

As Xia Zhi introduced them, Magikarp performed a Splash, leaping out of the water for Pidgeotto to see. Pidgeotto's gaze eventually landed on Metapod.

Though it had evolved, it could still sense that it was Metapod who had defeated it. However, Metapod showed no hostility, retaining its gentle Caterpie nature. It just narrowed its eyes as if smiling.

“Pidgeotto, from now on, you’ll be companions! Get along with each other, and let's grow strong together!” Xia Zhi continued to work on untying the threads, noticing Pidgeotto’s gaze. He spoke at the right time.

Pibbi~~~

Pidgeotto responded with a cry, retracting its gaze. It understood that the Caterpie was able to defeat it because of its trainer.

So when Xia Zhi suggested that they grow strong together, Pidgeotto agreed with the trainer and the companions.

Xia Xia also came over to help. They soon untangled the silk threads from Pidgeotto. It was mainly tricky because they were stuck to its feathers.

Pidgeotto quickly regained its former glory. Xia Zhi gave it a Sitrus Berry and treated its external wounds with a Potion.

Actually, catching Pokémon in reality is a bit different from the game. At least you can't see health bars, and you capture them by stopping their actions through combat.

Or by using status conditions, which seems to be the same in reality. However, in the game, moves like String Shot only decrease speed.

In reality, however, String Shot also has a binding effect. So although Pidgeotto didn’t suffer much damage, just a little impact,

its body was bound by the silk threads and couldn’t move. Once inside the Poké Ball, it didn’t have much strength to struggle. In the game, String Shot causing a speed decrease doesn’t count as a status condition.

It hadn't sustained any major injuries and recovered quickly. Xia Zhi also tidied up their camp, then took out his Poké Balls and captured Pidgeotto, Magikarp, and Metapod.

After evolving, Caterpie grew in size and weight, so it was no longer convenient to carry it outside the Poké Ball.

“Alright, let's go!” Today's catch was a good one. Waking up early and capturing Pidgeotto put them in a good mood as they continued their journey.

Guided by Xia Zhi, Xia Xia was no longer as afraid of Bug-type Pokémon. At least she was much better than before, which sped up their progress.

As they traveled through the forest, several hours passed unknowingly. It was almost noon. They were about to stop for a break when…

“Hmm? Xia Zhi, look over there.”

While looking for a place to rest, Xia Xia noticed a clearing behind a few trees. On closer inspection, she saw a wooden hut in the clearing.

“How come there’s a house here?” Xia Xia asked before Xia Zhi could speak.

“It must be a training house built by a hermit or something,” Xia Zhi replied.

Xia Xia nodded in agreement. If it were before, she would have wondered who would want to live in a place full of bugs.

“Let’s take a break here!”

Though they shouldn't enter someone else's house without permission, the open space nearby was perfect for a break.

“Alright! I wonder if there’s anyone inside.” Xia Xia nodded and followed Xia Zhi as they walked towards the hut, questioning curiously.

“Is anyone home??” Xia Xia called out at the door, but there was no response.

“Must be out?”

“Hmm??” Xia Xia was puzzled by the absence of a resident, while Xia Zhi paused slightly, turning his head and frowning.

“Help me!!!”

As they were asking, they heard a panicked cry coming from the woods. Xia Xia followed Xia Zhi's gaze, and they saw a figure swiftly moving through the trees. Behind him, several flying creatures were chasing after him.

Buzz buzz buzz!!!

They could hear a piercing buzzing sound that went straight through their heads. Then, a figure emerged from the woods, a young boy in samurai armor running out in fear. The figures behind him also appeared.

They looked like giant hornets, but much larger than hornets, dozens of times bigger. They had four legs, with giant silver conical needles on their forelegs. Their bodies were segmented into three parts, with a round head, a hooked beak, large red eyes, a pair of antennae on their heads, and a narrower neck-to-waist section.

Their tails were the largest part, with two black rings, a yellow stinger at the end, and a pair of four-winged, net-like wings on their backs.

“Ah! It's a Beedrill!” Seeing the Pokémon accompanying the strangely dressed boy, Xia Xia was startled. It was another Bug-type Pokémon she feared.

“Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!”

Xia Zhi immediately commanded. Pikachu responded, charging forward, leaped high, with electricity sparking from its cheeks and spreading across its body. Then it unleashed a powerful electric current, resembling a golden whip, that swept across the sky.

Bang bang bang!!!

The electric current struck the Beedrill in mid-air. The Beedrill faltered, and their movements were instantly disrupted. They let out pained cries. As the electrical power increased, they exploded.

Smoke billowed, revealing that the Beedrill were drooping their heads and fleeing into the air, some parts of their bodies burnt black, they fled in a panic.

Fortunately, the number of Beedrill was not large, otherwise, it wouldn't be so easy to handle.

“Whew… I'm saved!! ” The boy in samurai armor finally let out a sigh of relief.

“Are you alright??” Seeing this, Xia Xia couldn't help but ask. But when she heard Xia Xia's question, the boy in samurai armor suddenly raised his head, a glint of light in his eyes. He reached for his waist.
