Chapter 3 Xiaomou
(Third Update!!!)
Turning his head to look, it was a young boy about the same age as Xiaozhi, with a red spiky hairdo, one hand tucked into his hair, preening his hair with a conceited look.
Looking at the boy's appearance, even without Xiaozhi's memories, he could recognize who it was.
"You must be disappointed that I didn't arrive late, Xiaomou!"
This arrogant little brat was none other than Xiaozhi's childhood friend, Xiaomou, full name Da Mu Mao, also the grandson of Professor Oak. He was created based on Satoshi Tajiri's best friend, Shigeru Miyamoto, the father of Pokémon.
Miyamoto later went on to become the creator of another game that swept across the world, Mario, under Nintendo. One, the father of Mario, the other, the father of Pokémon; perhaps birds of a feather flock together, talented people become friends.
This world's Xiaomou was born with a variety of superior halos surrounding him, and thus developed a proud and complacent personality from a young age, and was Xiaozhi's early competitor.
His character changed later, gradually becoming steady and calm.
Although they constantly argued, they also formed a deep bond. Like Xiaozhi, Xiaomou dreamed of becoming the strongest trainer, but later, he chose the same path as Professor Oak.
Combining both memories, Xiaozhi knew that although they had always argued since they were young, and Xiaomou often took any chance to tease him.
But with his past life's memories, he knew that although they were rivals, they were also lifelong friends, and it was the same in both worlds.
Those who often tease you are not necessarily less close to you. Those who are often by your side may become estranged as you grow older. Xiaomou was clearly the former.
"Humph!!" Xiaomou was still young and not as sharp-tongued as in the anime when he became a trainer.
Before, whenever he teased Xiaozhi, Xiaozhi would get angry, and seeing Xiaozhi get angry made him happy inside.
Because Xiaozhi was easily provoked, he would always be angered by Xiaomou, but this time he didn't react much, making Xiaomou's prepared barbs have nowhere to go, leaving him to arrogantly turn his head away.
Xiaozhi didn't pay any attention. Xiaomou was just a sharp-tongued kid, but he was a good person. Besides, he wasn't going to get angry over a child.
Soon, the other children participating in the summer camp arrived, some with their families accompanying them, but they only sent the children over.
This summer camp was entirely run by Professor Oak, and the parents wouldn't be accompanying them. It has to be said that the parents in this world were quite bold.
There were 30 children participating in this summer camp, not a small number, practically the size of a kindergarten class.
"Professor, the number is correct, we can set off!" The staff member confirmed the attendance and reminded Professor Oak.
"Good! Let's go then! Everyone follow closely behind me. We will be heading to Route 1 next, where there are many forests. Everyone stay with the group and don't wander off!"
Route 1 was close to Pallet Town, although there were many forests, but they were mostly populated by harmless small Pokémon, which was why Professor Oak dared to bring the children in.
"Yes!!" All the children responded in unison. It has to be said that the parents in this world were quite bold, but in truth, it was mainly because the children in this world were indeed more sensible. After all, in this world, many 10-year-old kids would travel independently.
With the response, Professor Oak led the children out of the town, with several staff members following alongside.
The lab wasn't far from the edge of town, about a 10-minute walk. They reached the edge of the town.
"Wow!!!" Looking at the forest stretching as far as the eye could see, the children were filled with curiosity and exclaimed in surprise.
Flap flap flap flap!!!
Perhaps due to the children's voices, a few bird-like creatures flew past from the forest not far away, which caused another round of excited shouts from the children.
"It's Pokémon!!"
Seeing the children staring at the Pidgeys, Professor Oak also explained carefully, as the main purpose of this summer camp was field practice lectures.
"Everyone, that's a Pidgey, a small Flying-type Pokémon."
"Pidgeys are known for their gentle personalities, and even when frightened, they may not necessarily attack. Instead, they will create sandstorms to escape. However, they have the ability to fly, making them a popular first choice for new trainers to catch Pokémon!"
The children listened attentively to Professor Oak's explanation.
"Pidgeys generally live in forests with dense trees. Another Flying-type Pokémon that also lives in the forest is Pidgeotto."
"They are quite hot-tempered and have a strong territorial instinct. Therefore, they often fight with Pidgeys. Once frightened, they will attack in groups. Sometimes they hide in the forest, easily mistaken for Pidgeys and thus provoked, so be extra careful when entering the forest."
"Yes!!" Listening to Professor Oak's explanation, the children all quickly took note.
"Alright, let's continue on our journey!"
After explaining about these two common Flying-types, Professor Oak signaled for them to continue, the children following behind Professor Oak and the staff members, heading deeper into Route 1, towards the campsite.
It was actually the same as a kindergarten or elementary school field trip, except that they would encounter many Pokémon along the way.
Professor Oak led them to see some of the more common Pokémon, such as Rattata, Oddish, Caterpie, and Weedle, and identified and explained them one by one.
Listening to Professor Oak's explanation, they arrived at a clearing in the forest, close to a river, their destination being the campsite upstream.
"Let's take a break here!" Professor Oak told the children.
"Yes!!" Even though children had boundless energy, they had walked quite a distance. For these children, they had probably never walked this far on their own, and in the summer heat, everyone was already sweating profusely, ignoring their appearance and sitting on the grass to rest.
