Chapter 15
There Are No Weak Elves

Chapter 15: No Weak Pokémon

(Third update!! New book seeking flowers and collections!)

Of course, Satoshi could hear that, but he was truly wronged. He didn't lack ambition, nor did he act rashly.

It's just that about his future companions, he already had the guidance of fate, indeed, there was no need to worry about it.

Although he didn't have to follow the original plot, it's not possible to let go of the overpowered Pikachu and choose other Pokémon, right?

He looked forward to this fated meeting, but Pikachu was still the same Pikachu, while he was no longer the same him, and the story would inevitably be different.

"So, have you decided?" These things were clear in his own mind, and he didn't care what Shigeru thought, he said this on his lips, but in his heart, he was still concerned.

Actually, the current Shigeru was only arrogant, it wasn't until the Kanto League later that the arrogant Shigeru truly bowed.

"I... I won't tell you!" Hearing this, Shigeru subconsciously wanted to speak, but after thinking about it, he didn't tell Satoshi what he wanted to choose.

"Well! Suit yourself! Hmm? It's biting!"

Satoshi didn't care, it was just a casual question to distract himself.

Splash, splash, splash!!!

At that moment, water splashed above the river. Satoshi quickly got up. While chatting, a Pokémon had already taken the bait. He quickly pulled the fishing rod, carefully controlling the force and turning the reel.

The force wasn't particularly strong. As the fishing rod gradually pulled, it soon surfaced. Water splashed, Satoshi increased his strength, directly throwing the caught creature onto the grassy bank.

Flap, flap, flap, flap!!!

A fish with red scales all over its body was flapping on the grass, with intelligent eyes, two long yellow whiskers on its cheeks, its fins like a crown, flapping on the ground, without a hint of threat.

"Magikarp!"

Satoshi walked over to it. Because it was pulled up, it appeared very frightened. Seeing this, Satoshi walked over, knelt down, and gently stroked its scales.

He mobilized the power within his body, gently calming its emotions. Slowly, Magikarp's emotions began to calm down.

"Sorry to scare you. Unfortunately, I don't have a Poké Ball yet. See you again if we're destined to meet!" Satoshi smiled at the calmed Magikarp, then took some bait from the box beside him, fed it to Magikarp, and then picked it up.

He walked to the riverbank and released it into the water. Magikarp entered the water, poked its head out, looked at Satoshi, its round intelligent eyes narrowed into a crescent shape as if it was smiling, rubbed against Satoshi's hand, and then dived into the river and left.

Shigeru watched this scene from the opposite side, feeling envious in his heart. He felt strange too, not only in the research institute, but even these wild Pokémon got along so well with Satoshi.

But he still stubbornly held back from showing his envy.

"Shigeru, it seems I won!" Satoshi got up, looked at Shigeru, and said with a smile.

"Humph! It's just a Magikarp, what's so great about it? You wouldn't know that Magikarp is the weakest Pokémon, right?" Shigeru turned his head away arrogantly.

"What about Gyarados, is it still weak?" Satoshi sat back down, put the fishing rod back in the water, and looked at the river, lost in thought, as he spoke.

"Uh... I..."

"Actually, there are no weak Pokémon, only weak Trainers. If every Pokémon were strong enough, wouldn't being a Trainer be too unchallenging?"

"Helping weak Pokémon become stronger, isn't that the responsibility of a Trainer? Shigeru, as the grandson of Professor Oak, you shouldn't be ignorant of this, right?" Satoshi deliberately asked Shigeru with a surprised tone.

"I... I couldn't possibly not know!"

"What I mean is, it's still early. I can still catch a Magikarp!" Actually, Shigeru was still different from the later Shinji.

He wouldn't be like Shinji, feeling that it wasn't worth training because it was weak. He just said that because he saw Satoshi catch a Pokémon first. Satoshi listened and smiled, not saying anything more.

Shigeru also remained silent, and the scene fell into silence again. After waiting for a while, both of their fishing rods moved.

"It's biting!" Shigeru's eyes lit up and he said excitedly.

Satoshi didn't speak, his eyes became serious. The two pulled their rods at the same time, feeling a strong force. As the reels turned simultaneously, the two fishing lines were gradually pulled out of the water. They could see that the two fishing lines were very close.

"Could it be that they're hooked on the same thing?" Shigeru couldn't help but ask.

Splash!!!

Water splashed from the river. The two fishing lines were taut. They saw a round object at the center of the two fishing lines, and they both looked over. They saw that the hooks were simultaneously hooked onto an old Poké Ball.

"A Poké Ball? This must be the guide to becoming a Trainer. Satoshi, this is mine, quickly let go!" Shigeru looked at the Poké Ball, his expression changed slightly, and he immediately stared at Satoshi.

Because in this world, although one can become a Trainer at the age of 10, the regulation of Poké Balls is quite strict. Stores don't sell Poké Balls to children under 10, even if you have money, you can't buy one.

So, for those who haven't become a Trainer yet, getting a Poké Ball is undoubtedly lucky. Although it doesn't represent anything, it can be said to be a good omen.

"It was clearly caught together, you should be the one letting go!" Satoshi didn't intend to let go. He suddenly exerted force, and after three years of training, his strength had increased considerably.

Crack!!!

The moment he exerted force, the Poké Ball in the middle instantly made a sound. With a click, the red and white Poké Ball directly popped open, and was hooked back by each of their fishing lines, with only half remaining on each line.

"Ah! It's broken? It seems to be very old, the connecting part has come loose!" Shigeru said, looking at the Poké Ball.

"It seems the victory is left for later! After we become Trainers, we'll truly compete and the winner will get the other half!" Satoshi took the half of the Poké Ball, took a look at it, then put it away and turned to leave.

"Satoshi! Humph! The final winner will be me." If it were three years ago, Shigeru definitely wouldn't agree.

Because for him, someone as carefree as Satoshi, he wouldn't even admit to a draw. But now it was different, he already considered Satoshi as a rival in his heart.
