Chapter 33
The Power of Dragonite

“Awoo~”

The Houndoom ran to the riverbank and let out a soft bark at Natsume.

Natsume opened his eyes on the back of the Dragonite: “Someone looking for me?”

Houndoom nodded.

“Okay.”

“Wait a sec.”

Natsume packed his fishing rod and walked towards the front of the house.

Wang Dong took out his phone and started recording a video of the farm.

The farm looked rather empty now, but the house was quite cozy.

Wang Dong moved his phone around.

Suddenly, a scene caught his eye.

The Houndoom was walking leisurely beside a young man who looked quite relaxed.

The boy was yawning, looking like he had just woken up.

He was carrying a bucket in his hand.

The Dragonite was flying beside the bucket, looking at the fish inside.

This scene filled him with a sense of peace.

“Village Chief, why are you here?”

Natsume asked, walking over curiously.

The Village Chief explained: “This young man said he wants to challenge you.”

“I don’t get it. Why wouldn’t he challenge a gym, but instead challenge you?”

Natsume glanced at Wang Dong: “How did you find this place?”

Wang Dong explained: “Hello.”

“I heard about you online.”

Although Wang Dong was quite arrogant online, he immediately became polite when he saw the Dragonite beside Natsume.

On the surface, Wang Dong appeared calm, but inside, he was already freaking out.

(Damn netizens! They can’t even tell the difference between a Dratini and a Dragonite!)

Natsume understood after hearing his explanation: “Alright.”

“It’ll be 2v2, right?”

Wang Dong nodded: “No problem.”

“Haaak~”

Dragonite let out a sound towards Natsume.

It also wanted to stretch its wings.

“Alright.”

Natsume smiled and stroked Dragonite’s head: “Go ahead, you’re up.”

Wang Dong excitedly handed his phone to the Village Chief: “Can you record a video for me?”

“Alright.”

The Village Chief took the phone.

Rotom was still the referee.

“The rules of this battle are 2v2. The battle ends when all the Pokémon on either side have lost their battle capability.”

“Haaak~”

Dragonite flew above the battlefield.

Wang Dong took out his Poké Ball: “Go, Poliwhirl!”

Poliwhirl, Water-type Pokémon, level 30.

Natsume glanced at Poliwhirl’s data and said: “You go first.”

“Poliwhirl, Water Gun!”

A torrent of water instantly surged around Poliwhirl’s body, then, carrying Poliwhirl, it charged towards Dragonite.

“Thunderbolt.”

Zla~ Boom!

The lightning bolt struck Poliwhirl’s body instantly.

Dragonite’s Special Attack stat was maxed out, plus it had a type advantage.

This single Thunderbolt instantly knocked Poliwhirl out of the battle.

“Holy crap, it’s that strong?”

Wang Dong was quite shocked.

The Village Chief put down his phone in exasperation and shouted at Wang Dong: “What am I supposed to record, anyway?”

Wang Dong blushed and quickly ran over to take back his phone.

“Never mind, no need to record anymore.”

Natsume smiled: “Are you going to continue the battle?”

“Of course, of course.”

Wang Dong wiped the sweat from his face: “This is my second Pokémon.”

“Go, Bayleef!”

Bayleef, Grass-type Pokémon, this Pokémon was a higher level, 32.

“Bayleef, Razor Leaf!”

This time, Wang Dong was more cautious.

“Dragonite, Flamethrower!”

Dragonite looked at the Razor Leaf rushing towards it, took a deep breath, and then a blazing torrent of flames erupted.

The flames melted all the Razor Leaf, and continued towards Bayleef with unabated ferocity.

“Dodge it, use Harden!”

Bayleef quickly jumped to the side, avoiding the flames.

Peng~

The flames hit the ground, sparks flying everywhere.

Bayleef looked at the Dragonite floating before it and felt an immense pressure building up.

Natsume calmly said: “Extreme Speed!”

Dragonite’s body instantly turned into an arrow, swiftly charging towards Bayleef.

“Block it, use Harden!”

Bayleef raised both its arms in front of it, trying to block Dragonite’s Extreme Speed.

Dragonite’s body crashed into Bayleef.

Peng!

The immense force sent Bayleef flying into the air, before it landed heavily on the ground.

Dragonite’s Extreme Speed was something Bayleef couldn’t block at all!

“Bayleef!”

As Bayleef struggled to get back on its feet, Dragonite was already flying in front of it.

Dragonite’s mouth gathered flames.

“Come back, Bayleef!”

Wang Dong quickly recalled his Bayleef.

Dragonite cancelled its Flamethrower.

Wang Dong sighed in defeat: “I lose. I’m no match for you at all.”

[Battle Notes: 3-Game Win Streak (2/3)]

The Village Chief looked at Natsume with some surprise: “Natsume, you’re actually that strong?”

Natsume humbly replied: “Nothing like that, we still have to work harder.”

The Village Chief looked at Wang Dong and shook his head after hearing that.

Wang Dong awkwardly said: “Well, I’m going to go now.”

“We’ll keep challenging you once we’ve gotten stronger.”

As he said this, Wang Dong suddenly felt like he was talking to a Gym Leader.

Whenever Wang Dong lost a Gym Battle, he would always leave with this line.

The Village Chief watched Wang Dong leave and said to Natsume: “This place has changed a lot.”

Natsume smiled: “Because many partners helped make it this way.”

“Grrr~”

The Growlithes and Delcatty, along with the Dugtrio, all ran back.

They heard the commotion over here.

“Welcome back.”

Natsume waved at them.

“Digg~“

The Dugtrio sped up their pace.

..

Wang Dong sat in his car, reflecting on why he lost.

Soon, he reached a conclusion.

“Damn netizens, you didn’t even say that the farmer has a Dragonite!”

Wang Dong angrily opened his phone and left a comment on Zhao Fan’s account: “Are you stupid?”

“You can’t even tell the difference between a Dragonite and a Dratini? I think your Gym Badge is fake.”

Zhao Fan was eating dinner at that moment.

Zhao Fan saw that the netizen was commenting on his account again.

He glanced at the comment and suddenly felt like he couldn’t eat anymore.

Zhao Fan typed: “You think I can’t tell the difference between a Dratini and a Dragonite? Who do you think you are, clueless like you?”

Wang Dong: “I even battled a Dragonite, and I didn’t know! You are a fake!

Zhao Fan: I get it! You probably lost to a Dratini and then thought it was a Dragonite, right?

Wang Dong: Bullshit! I lost to a Dragonite!

Bulbasaur No Worries: Guys, is there any possibility that the Dratini evolved?

Zhao Fan: Uh...

Wang Dong: Maybe…

Fire Type Supreme: You actually went offline to the real world? So you lost to that farmer too?

Wang Dong: No cap, he’s really strong.

Bulbasaur No Worries: You got swept?

Wang Dong: I can’t help it, it was a Dragonite.

Sunflora: I want to go challenge that farm too, send me the location.

Wang Dong: I don’t think it’s on the map, you need to navigate to the Rice Fragrance Village first…
