Two quarters of an hour later.
Chen, the wealthy landowner, personally brought hot tea to Ao Qing and Dao Ji.
His hands trembled as he poured the tea.
The sight of Ao Qing summoning thunder from the sky was still replaying in his mind.
Terrifying!
That power was beyond anything humans could imagine.
He then poured hot tea for Bai Su Zhen, Hua Yun, and the other women before carefully taking his tea pot and bidding farewell.
Dao Ji took a sip of the scalding tea, sputtering and fanning his mouth.
He patted his tattered fan, complaining bitterly:
“This little dragon is so boring. I, a monk, struggled to carry Brother Weituo to the Chen family. Now, my identity is revealed, and the fun is gone.”
Ao Qing held his teacup, gently blowing on the floating leaves on the surface of the tea, and said with a smile:
“I don’t think the Chen family are ruthless and stubborn.”
“If the Arhat wants to guide them towards goodness, there are many ways. Why bother?”
Dao Ji rolled his eyes.
“Easy to say. People remember hardships, but they don't care about things that are readily available.”
“If I directly reveal my true form, even the Demon King and Ghost King would have to eat vegetarian food and recite Buddhist scriptures.”
“But when they clasp their hands together and recite scriptures, are they truly thinking of Buddha?”
Ao Qing didn’t want to discuss the nature of humanity and revealed his and Bai Su Zhen’s intentions.
Bai Su Zhen gently nodded, her expression serious.
“This matter has troubled me for a long time. I hope the Arhat can enlighten me.”
Dao Ji rested one leg on the chair, looking relaxed.
“Bringing the dead back to life is easy, but living beings’ karmic entanglements are hard to overcome.”
He looked at Bai Su Zhen, spread his hands, and looked helpless.
“The monk himself is undergoing tribulation.”
“Bai Shizhu, what do you think the monk should do to help you?”
Bai Su Zhen paused, sighing softly as she sat back in her chair, her clear eyes gradually becoming lost.
She knew Dao Ji was right.
Tribulation is elusive. Those caught in it can't see through it, and outsiders can't understand it.
Especially karmic entanglements.
They are even more difficult to grasp than ordinary tribulations.
Dao Ji then turned to Ao Qing, his expression changing, he raised an eyebrow and glared, giving him a cold stare.
“Then there’s you!”
“Don’t think it’s easy just because I said bringing the dead back to life is easy.”
“You little stinker, you disturbed my efforts to guide people towards goodness, and if you cause me to lose my soon-to-be disciple, just see how I deal with you.”
Ao Qing held his teacup, not the least bit flustered, his expression serene.
“What are you talking about, Arhat? What’s yours will be yours, how could anyone make you lose it?”
Dao Ji snorted and lifted his chin.
“That’s true, but the monk is very unhappy now. You need to find a way to make the monk’s disciple come to me willingly.”
Ao Qing nodded, stood up, and walked towards the backyard, where Chen Liang’s study and bedroom were located.
As soon as he moved, the few women in the room also moved.
Hua Yun flashed, appearing beside Ao Qing, peering at him with a face full of admiration.
“Brother Ao Qing is so amazing! I didn't even dare to look at that monk, his Buddha light hurt my eyes.”
Descending Dragon was an Arhat who had descended to the mortal world to undergo tribulation, and his Buddhist practice was exquisite.
Ordinary little demons wouldn’t dare speak to Descending Dragon, even looking at him from a distance could cause them harm.
Thankfully, Hua Yun came from a good background. Otherwise, with her cultivation level, she wouldn’t have been able to get close to him at all.
Xia Gu followed, her small hand lightly rubbing her arm, her eyes filled with apprehension.
“Qing, are all the immortals in heaven this strong?”
Ao Qing walked leisurely, turning his head to glance at the Arhat sitting in the room.
“He's in between strong and not strong.”
Hua Yun frowned, pursing her lips, unable to understand what he meant.
Xia Gu thought for a moment, then chose to ask directly.
Ao Qing made two hand gestures, one high and one low.
“The strong ones have already undergone tribulation, and now they don't need to.”
“The weak ones don’t have the opportunity to undergo tribulation.”
“So he's in between strong and not strong.”
Hua Yun understood and seemed to think of something, giggling.
Xia Gu was very interested in her every move and kept asking her why she was laughing.
Hua Yun didn’t want to share her thoughts with Xia Gu, so she grabbed Ao Qing’s belt and started playing “Chicks and Hawks” with Xia Gu.
Behind the three, two figures, one green and one white, walked side by side.
Xiao Qing, smiling, held Bai Su Zhen’s arm, her beautiful eyes sparkling with joy.
Bai Su Zhen looked at Xiao Qing beside her, then at Ao Qing who was surrounded by Hua Yun and Xia Gu, her eyes a little strange.
“Xiao Qing, aren’t you going to accompany him?”
Xiao Qing didn't care, holding her arm tightly, giggling.
“What are you afraid of? He’s not going to sleep outside tonight.”
“Now I’m going to spend some quality time with my sister.”
Bai Su Zhen was stunned for a moment, then realized what Xiao Qing meant, her cheeks flushing slightly.
“You, Xiao Qing, you’re learning to say such things now, aren’t you?”
Xiao Qing glanced at Bai Su Zhen, a mischievous smile on her lips, and slightly raised her toes, leaning close to Bai Su Zhen’s ear.
“Last night, we…”
Bai Su Zhen’s face turned red after only hearing a little.
Pink clouds visibly crawled over her fair, smooth cheeks.
Her breathing became heavier and heavier.
Bai Su Zhen took a deep breath, suppressing the throbbing in her heart, and abruptly turned her head, staring straight at Xiao Qing.
Xiao Qing was startled. She had lived with Bai Su Zhen for so many years, and she knew her every move, so she naturally understood what Bai Su Zhen wanted to do.
“Ah!”
She let out a cry of surprise, jumping up like a startled little animal, and huddled beside Ao Qing.
Now, there were two more people surrounding Ao Qing.
Ao Qing’s belt was being held by both Hua Yun and Xiao Qing.
The two girls, with similar personalities, unconsciously used him as a shield.
Watching them play, Ao Qing’s mood also improved.
