Chapter 7
Whose Guardian Deity Is an Egg?!

Having tried hundreds of wands, Wien was a seasoned veteran on his journey.

Without a matching wand, his magic would be very resistant, and the spells he cast would be erratic.

If he felt so-so, or had no feeling at all, he would just squirt out some water, and make a couple of fireworks to show for it.

If there was some compatibility, the spells he cast would mostly be transfiguration spells.

But no wand had ever given him the same feeling as this one. The moment he held it, a sense of perfect harmony surged through him.

Just like finding the most beautiful princess in a KTV, he couldn't wait to show off his skills.

Wien subconsciously raised his wand.

A silver-white mist wafted out, floating in the air and gradually solidifying into shape.

After an initial moment of confusion, Professor McGonagall immediately realized what was happening, and rarely did she lose her composure: "Impossible!"

Ollivander's lips trembled.

"Patronus Charm... it's actually a Patronus Charm..."

It wasn't just that the Patronus Charm was an extremely advanced Defense Against the Dark Arts spell that even many adult wizards couldn't master.

But, what young witch or wizard, upon receiving their wand, would spontaneously cast a Patronus Charm?

The silver Patronus finally took shape, and McGonagall and Ollivander stared intently, their gazes becoming vacant.

"It's... an egg?"

Wien was also deeply speechless.

What the hell!

Whose normal Patronus was an egg? Did that mean he was going to throw an egg to blast away Dementors in the future?

Hurry up and hatch!

Hmm?

Wien had a sudden thought. Hatch?

Could it be related to the magical egg that was being hatched at home?

The wand lowered slightly, and the Patronus dissipated. Ollivander and McGonagall finally recovered from their shock.

"A perfect performance, Mr. Lawrence." Ollivander took a deep breath. "This moment will forever be recorded in the history of the Ollivander family."

"Legend has it that the Elder Tree is the tree used by Hercules to honor his father, Zeus, the King of the Gods. In ancient Greece, it was also known as the Holy Tree."

"And the unicorn hair is also the purest material, extremely loyal and stable to its owner."

"I believe you will certainly excel in Defense Against the Dark Arts in the future, maybe even become the next Dumbledore."

Wien laughed, teasing, "Don't you say that to every young witch or wizard?"

Ollivander smiled but didn't speak.

He did indeed say nice things when selling wands, but that was for KPIs, and not to be taken seriously.

But this time, he genuinely meant what he said.

......

After paying seven Galleons for the wand, and another fifteen Galleons for a full set of advanced wand care tools, the two left Ollivander's shop.

Damn.

Now he knew why something as important as a wand only cost seven Galleons. It was cheap.

On one hand, the Ministry of Magic would provide a subsidy for each young witch or wizard's first wand, and Ollivander would claim the difference from them.

On the other hand, it was the after-sales service. Like a 4S shop in the Muggle world, the real money was in the after-sales.

...

He didn't have time to be too happy about getting the wand. He had wasted too much time earlier and needed to hurry up.

The bookstore, the clothing shop, the cauldron shop, and the astronomy shop.

After going through all of them, Wien finally had everything he needed for Hogwarts, and he also bought a bunch of books that interested him.

Fortunately, Flourish & Blotts and the other stores all offered owl delivery services. It only cost three Sickles in delivery fees, making Wien marvel at the affordability of the magical world.

Three Sickles, that was almost free shipping.

The only regret was that because Professor McGonagall was accompanying him, he couldn't buy many fun trinkets, such as tickle powder, dungbombs, and other prank items.

Before parting ways, McGonagall asked again if Wien needed to buy a pet.

First-year students were allowed to bring owls, toads, and rats as pets.

Wien wasn't interested in any of these three creatures, even the most adorable Scottish Fold he didn't think he needed.

Owls were generally used for sending messages, and he didn't have any magical friends to contact yet.

If he needed to use an owl later on, he could just borrow one from his classmates, or use one from the school.

......

"Mr. Lawrence, my mission is complete. The next time we meet will be at the start of term."

After using Apparition to send Wien home again, Professor McGonagall was also about to leave. She had to visit another young witch's home in the afternoon.

Before leaving, McGonagall said, "Although the Ministry of Magic doesn't allow young witches and wizards to practice magic outside of school, there are exceptions to every rule."

McGonagall said with a knowing smile, "Over the next month, you can try to preview your lessons and learn some less dangerous spells. If you have any questions, you can send me an owl from Diagon Alley."

After the shock in Ollivander's shop, McGonagall now also had high hopes for Wien's talent, and she was not stingy with her help.

Hearing her words, Wien was also overjoyed.

"Wouldn't that be too much trouble, Professor?"

Although he now had full talent and a cheat code, learning magic wasn't a one-time thing.

Redeeming his talent also required a lot of knowledge accumulation and practice. Having the help of a master like McGonagall, Wien could avoid many detours.

"Of course not. I am happy to answer questions from eager young witches and wizards."

With that, McGonagall waved her hand again and Apparated away.

Wien watched her go, then turned and walked back to his home.

Although he was grateful for McGonagall's enthusiasm, Gryffindor?

That wasn't the house Wien wanted to go to.
