Chapter 44
The Shock Brought by the Phoenix!

In a blink of an eye, it was Monday again.

In the morning, the young wizards came to the dining hall for breakfast. Harry looked a little tired. He hadn't had a good rest this weekend because he had joined the Quidditch team.

He was pulled into training by Wood during the day, and he had to do detention at night.

Right now, the person Harry hated the most was definitely Snape, followed by Malfoy.

Even his Dudley came after these two.

The Great Hall door suddenly opened, and a cacophony of sounds came in, like hundreds of birds flapping their wings.

The young wizards were used to this. They quickly filled their bowls with food and pulled them in front of them for protection.

Soon, a flock of owls flew in, dropping letters and packages into the arms of their recipients, or into the nearby soup, creating a mess.

The twins secretly hid their packages. They were dung bombs and nosebleed nougat that they had bought from Zonko's Joke Shop. They absolutely couldn't let Professor McGonagall see them.

Harry also picked up the day's Daily Prophet and started reading.

“Caw!”

Just then, a bird cry appeared out of thin air. The owls trembled, and two of them that were flying in the air directly fell into the soup.

Everyone looked up, searching for the source of the sound.

They saw a burst of flames appear in the air, followed by a phoenix soaring out of the fire, holding two packages in its talons.

In the stunned gaze of everyone, the phoenix landed next to Wayne and dropped the two packages.

“This… this…”

Cedric, who had been talking endlessly to Wayne about Charlie Cannon's glorious history, couldn't even speak clearly now.

“Huh? These are the packages I bought. What's wrong?” Wayne casually placed the packages at his feet.

“No!” Cedric finally recovered.

“Is the point of the packages? The point is this… this phoenix!”

Looking at Fawkes standing on Wayne's shoulder, grooming its feathers, Cedric couldn't hold it in anymore.

“Why does a phoenix deliver your packages?!”

He asked the question that all the new students wanted to know. Professor Sprout and Professor Kettleburn, who were about to have breakfast at the High Table, rushed over.

Especially Kettleburn, who only had one leg left. He pushed his chair with magic and floated over.

He was mesmerized by Fawkes.

“Look at her, so beautiful!”

“Beautiful?” Wayne raised his eyebrows and reached out to touch Fawkes' head.

Compared to when it was just hatched, Fawkes' appearance had undergone a huge change. It had grown orange-red feathers, with a hint of green at the end.

It was indeed much prettier.

But compared to beautiful… honestly, Wayne thought his bird was just okay to look at, better than some in Pokemon.

It didn't reach the level of beautiful.

As if sensing its owner's disdain, Fawkes chirped in dissatisfaction and gently pecked Wayne's cheek, like it was acting cute.

She was so hard done by!

When it was born, its owner treated it as a Pidgeotto. Now, it had finally grown a bit, showing a shadow of the legendary Pokemon, and its owner wasn't satisfied.

What else do you want from her?!

Do you have to turn into a human for you to be satisfied?

“Mr. Lawrence, is this phoenix…” Professor Sprout asked after observing for a moment.

“Fawkes found me a few days after I received my acceptance letter. We hit it off, so it followed me.”

Wayne casually made up an excuse, not afraid of people not believing him.

The wizarding world was full of miracles and legends. He was just taking this opportunity to reveal Fawkes' existence.

“Hit it off?”

Hearing his perfunctory explanation, Cedric's eyes turned red. The other young wizards were no better.

At the Gryffindor table, Hermione was looking longingly, and if the professors weren't there, she would have run over to observe it up close.

This was a phoenix!

In the 20th century, people only knew of the existence of two phoenixes.

One was Dumbledore's pet, Fawkes.

The other was the mascot of the Quidditch team, the Motora Macaws – Spark.

This one of Wayne's was the third.

A first-year wizard, his pet was a phoenix?

Malfoy was envious enough to grind his teeth.

His favorite magical creature was a dragon, but that didn't mean he didn't like phoenixes. This rare and noble magical creature was perfect for their Malfoy family.

For a moment, Malfoy even wanted to find Wayne and buy this phoenix.

Unfortunately, as long as you weren't an idiot, you wouldn't sell it to him.

Sprout listened to Wayne's explanation, opened her mouth, and couldn't ask the question. She wanted to ask Wayne if his real surname was Dumbledore.

Those who were knowledgeable knew that phoenixes would appear when the Dumbledore family needed them.

It matched Wayne's description exactly.

Just as the Great Hall fell into an eerie silence, there was another clear cry.

But it wasn't made by Fawkes, but another phoenix.

Feeling the presence of its kin (after being localized by the system), Fawkes followed.

It wasn't just a bird, it was also pulling Dumbledore.

Old Dumbledore probably hadn't woken up yet, he was still wearing his pajamas, with a ridiculous sleeping cap on his head.

Many of the young wizards started laughing, because Dumbledore's pajamas were very cute, with images of Fluffy and goblins on them.

“Fawkes, what's going on? You're in such a hurry.”

Dumbledore obviously hadn't figured out what was going on, he was still a little dazed.

Fawkes didn't pay any attention to him, and flew in circles in front of Wayne. Fawkes also flew up, with flames burning on its body.

Fawkes chirped happily, proactively bowing its head.

It could sense that this phoenix's bloodline was even more noble than his own. Even in its juvenile stage, it had to pay its respects.

“Unbelievable…” Dumbledore woke up and looked at the two phoenixes performing, his eyes filled with deep astonishment.

“Mr. Lawrence, is she your pet?”

“Of course.” Wayne nodded.

“Although first-year wizards are only allowed to bring toads, rats, and owls as pets.”

“But Fawkes' function is similar to an owl, it can also deliver messages, so it shouldn't be against the school rules, right?”

The whole hall was silent.

Cedric stiffened, his fists clenched.

You're so Versailles, you're going to get beat up!
