Chapter 33
Thanks to Snape for the Big Melon

Watching Wien's retreating back, Hermione was a little suspicious.

She always felt that this guy was up to something, but there was no evidence, so she could only continue to eat with her head down.

There were no classes this afternoon, and the young witch was going to spend the entire afternoon in the library to finish all her homework. She planned to use the two days of the weekend to preview the next week's lessons.

This week, Hermione's scholar image had been fully demonstrated. In every class, she could help Gryffindor earn some points (except Potions).

But she was still under a lot of pressure, and the reason was Wien.

From his performance in class, they were actually pretty close, but Hermione knew Wien was definitely hiding a lot.

In Transfiguration, she could only make the match slightly change in color and material. Professor McGonagall was happy, but she also told Hermione that Wien had succeeded in one go.

Hermione knew that her excellent performance now was entirely due to her hard work and a bit of good memory.

But what about Wien?

When he was in the library with her, he only read miscellaneous books. He often slipped away to play Wizard’s Chess and Exploding Snap with his classmates.

He seemed to be more relaxed than Harry and Ron.

Last time, she caught Wien performing the healing spell on Cho Chang without a wand. This was a skill that many adult wizards couldn’t master.

Pure talent crushing was simply despairing. Hermione knew that she could only work harder to keep up with Wien's progress.

He was hiding too deep.

If Wien knew what Hermione was thinking, he would definitely cry injustice.

He wasn't hiding at all!

After coming to Hogwarts, Wien had never thought about developing in a sneaky way. The wizarding world was relatively peaceful. Showing more talent would make him the favorite of the professors.

And it would also help him get lighter punishments when he got into trouble.

Mainly... the things learned in the first year were just a little bit. Any decent student could learn them, such as Hermione now.

It couldn't reflect his talent.

Should he directly find the professor and perform a magic spell combo?

Wien, who didn't know that he had been labeled as a “sneaky guy” by Ms. Granger, went to the Potions classroom located in the basement after lunch.

A week was enough for the young wizards to get to know the teachers at the school.

Especially Snape, a professor with a very unique ‘characteristic’.

Almost at twelve fifty, the classroom was filled with Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students.

No one dared to speak loudly, and many of them cast glances at the door from time to time.

Wien and Hannah sat at a table. Honestly, he wasn't really worried.

He wasn't named Potter, and he wasn’t a Gryffindor student. Snape had no reason to target him.

At exactly one o’clock, Snape entered the classroom in precise steps.

He strode in, his speed was so fast that it caused a gust of wind. The robe fluttered, like a walking bat spirit.

“Put away those useless wands,” Snape's voice was low and magnetic, but it gave people a chilling feeling. The young wizards obediently complied.

Like Professor Flitwick, Snape took out the roll call and began calling names.

Every young wizard who was called would quickly and carefully respond, afraid that they would be reprimanded for being half a beat late.

“A precise sense of time is an essential foundation for brewing potions. I am happy that no one is late,”

Snape said slowly. It sounded like he was happy, but more than one person saw disappointment in his eyes.

“You are here to learn the precise science and rigorous craftsmanship of potion making. Because there is no foolish waving of wands here, many of you will not believe that this is magic.”

“I don't expect you to really understand the beauty of a slow-simmered cauldron emitting white smoke and a fragrant aroma, you won't truly understand the miraculous magic of liquids flowing into people's blood vessels, making people’s hearts flutter and their minds become infatuated… I can teach you how to improve your reputation, forge glory, and even stop death!”

It was a very inspiring opening speech, and many people were already mesmerized and expectant.

Wien took advantage of Snape's inattention and secretly curled his lips.

He did speak well. I would say his public speaking ability is second only to Grindelwald in the wizarding world.

Forge glory, stop death.

He sounded like he was going to teach them how to make the Philosopher’s Stone.

If he could really stop death, then why didn’t he save Lily?

Oh, that's not something I should say. If I did, I could bet that I would receive a green light from Snape's wand tip in the next second.

“Lawrence!” Snape suddenly spoke.

Wien was taken aback, but his body subconsciously stood up.

“If I want to make weed-killing potion, besides lionfish spine powder, Flobberworm mucus, what else do I need?”

“Horklump juice, sir.”

“How many ways are there to make rejuvenating potion?”

“Three, extraction, simmering, and grinding into powder.”

“I need a dungbomb, where would you go to find it?”

“In a cow's stomach, but there are many artificially cultivated ones now.”

“The processing steps of the porcupine quill in the scabies potion.”

“Cut them into three centimeter lengths, make a diagonal cut at every centimeter.”

“Tsk.” Snape stopped asking, “It seems that you are indeed more qualified than Mr. Potter.”

The other young wizards were stunned. They could understand every word spoken by these two people.

But together…

Isolation chamber, ok?

“What are you looking at me for? Do I have the contents I just said on my face? Take notes quickly!” Snape suddenly erupted, and the students started to frantically take notes.

“You too, do you want me to ask you to sit down?”

“You are so kind, professor.” Wien rolled his eyes, sat down.

He had no idea why Snape suddenly called his name.

It was not random, it was definitely aimed at him.

The previous questions were all beyond the scope of the curriculum, not something a first-year student needed to learn. It was definitely premeditated.

What Wien didn’t know was that Snape had heard from Professor McGonagall about Wien’s talent: he could summon a patronus with a wand.

This magic had a special meaning to him, so he naturally remembered Wien's name.

Today's test was just a whim, he wanted to make things difficult for Wien and take some points away from Hufflepuff.

Because of his and Cedric’s excellent performance, Hufflepuff's score was now higher than Slytherin’s.

He was a little disappointed that Wien passed the test.

Why couldn't he be like the foolish Potter?

Glancing at Wien, whose expression was calm, Snape waved his hand and the production process of the scabies cure appeared on the blackboard.

“The materials are in the closet. You work in groups of two. If I catch anyone wasting materials… I will make them eat the extra materials.”

The young wizards all shuddered.
